Indigo Traveller thank you Nick for such an amazing video of Azerbaijan, I have watched all your videos of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan they were really interesting and knowledgeable!
I’ve never met a New Zealander I didn’t like - all very chill. Your travel logs are so great to watch because you are so laid back and it flows naturally with nothing seeming affected - just a young guy having some fun around the world. What’s not to like? Brilliant work - keep it up! Love, a Brit.
I did this ferry back in 2001 with my then girlfriend. It was quite the experience, as no English was spoken at all and next to zero travellers would do this. back then. The experience we had was completely crazy, from the trip taking 3 days, to a crew member trapping my girlfriend in his cabin, to Turkmenistan authorities doing their best to not let us in...
The editing is getting better and better. Especially blending the drone footage. It's a please to watch Nick. Also nealry 100,00 subs..... This channel is growing fast
Nick, it would be great of you compared all former USSR countries, pros and cons each of them from the point of independent traveller view. You have visited many of them.
Cheers, George, that is a great idea, I would really like to visit all of them before making a video like that but a great idea for the future, thanks!
My Amish buddy from Pennsylvania used to live in Aktau and he took the ferry across to Baku. However his wife is Kyrgyz and speaks Russian and Kyrgyz (which is very similar to Kazakh) and she was able to ask around and find the info. I know they took a cargo ship or something. I think they also crossed the Black Sea from Batumi, Georgia to Odessa, Ukraine on a similar cargo ship. I've always wanted to do this journey (I live in Atyrau in Kazakhstan just north of Aktau) but you are right- there is literally NO info about this anywhere! You gotta know a bloke who knows a bloke! LOL. Also, was getting an Azerbaijan visa very difficult? I know it can be purchased online right?
Great information coz flight cost a bit high in that region and i was planning a trip there so i was thinking about it and you gave me the solution thanks mate and by the way i will be glad to host you in my country Bahrain which is a island in middle east I'm sure you know about it.
Hey Nick. You are the shit! ;) Been following your travels for a long time. Such a nice and jovial guy is one in a million. How about listening to some Norwegian Disco for a change? For instance: Hubbabubbaklubb - Mopedbart. You might like it. Take care man. All the best from Oslo (And keep up the good work) - Your editing skills and stamina are ace
This is really good information - thanks for sharing! Also glad we found your channel dude, closing in on 100k that's goals! We are a small travel channel that just started and it would mean a ton if you stopped by as well. We subscribed - off to check out more videos!

Great info, thanks! The best source of information is probably on caravanistan.com, but haven't found much on youtube. So this is appreciated!
Thank you, appreciate that!
Are you going to make it to the Western Hemisphere at some point?
Yes, eventually. A bit expensive for me at the moment. Cheers!
A lot of Latin America is actually pretty budget friendly, but yes, crossing the Atlantic is not.
my from Chittagong Bangladesh
Nice!
🐔? Were there no other meats available like 🐟, beef or pork? Did you not eat the chicken because you are vegetarian / vegan?
Like I said, there was fish once but other than that it was chicken every meal. I don't really eat much meat.
