Thank you! Mr. Russ! I put pieces of clementine tangerine in my cases. I used to put tangerine peels directly into my f holes but then I saw some mold so I quit doing that. I honestly think humidifier this way is superior to the damp it tubes. Sometimes but not always the tone improves. My real reason for doing this is my grandfather had two violins one had cracked at the e side f hole on down to the tail end the other he gave to me without any plate cracks just glue cracks around c bouts. I thank you for your diligent coverage of this humidity topic. Hopefully both my violins will stay solid throughout the rest of my life with minimal care. Happy fiddling!

That seems to be a great solution to keep your instruments in ideal condition!

I live in Florida, USA, where it’s very humid. When I need to travel to where it’s arid, I place a small orange in my instrument cases.

Edgar, in the guitar world we use Boveda or Integra 2-way humidity packs inside our cases. I suppose the paper towel and water trick is the closest thing to it. Cheers from Toronto 🍺🇨🇦🇮🇹

I live in a very humid country. Could you make a video what we should do to our violin? Can a violin adjust to the new climate eventually? How to make it happen? etc... etc.... I never see a video about violin maintenance in a humid region.
