Mike Tysons Punch-Out!! - Fastest Punch!!

- These are measured from the first movement of a punch to Mac turning pink. I got a range for some of the punches, so I just averaged them. A few of the punches may be off by a frame or two, but overall it will be close.
The average human visual reaction time is 0.25 seconds so if sandman didn’t have that flash at the beginning, dreamland express would probably be impossible to dodge
The first one he does is slower, and you can dodge the others because you already know it's coming. Most of the fastest punches are like this, you can only dodge or block because you know it's coming from playing it before. That's why I added the hardest to dodge ones at the end.
I'm actually working on a "punch out clone" figuring out frame data is fun. Gotta keep that 0.25 seconds thing in mind. Heck in my game i will include an extras menu that lets you see the frames of the opponents cuz why not? Doesn't have to be a pvp fighting game to care about frames y'know? Just thought it'd be a nice touch.
@@jerodmcallister1974 Good luck mate
Meanwhile little Mac gets the crap beat out of him
You have 1/30th of a second to react to it so its already near impossible
Now that I think about it, in every one of these videos is INSAELY fast.
Piston honda: outruns bullet train
Glass Joe: ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSLEF
I swear to god soda popinski's jab is only possible to dodge with the nintendo switch rewind feature
I gotta say great tiger and Mr sandman punches are very fast
Knowing I have .37 to dodge those Dynamite Punches helps instill me with confidence. Thanks!
How is glass Joe faster than the world champ using his signature attack?
2:29 The uppercutting squad.
With Super Macho Man and Russian Purple Bald Mustached Super Macho Man
@@salvadormendez4024 And Mr Sandman and Turkish Bald Mustached Mr Sandman
Pfft
More like Beat UP Little Mac Simulator
Am I the only one who never realized that SMM had a shaking uppercut?
Nope. You dont really get to see it because he only does it if you run out of hearts.
@@superwetandcompletelydry So that's it. I always found he did it when I was already really struggling, and he never did it when I was staying on top of the fight. It sure works. If you're out of hearts, you probably already took a beating, and are flailing trying to get your timing back, and then he changes his timing in a way you don't expect to make it even harder to recover. XD
Yeah he throws a hook then his shaking uppercut once you're out of hearts. Not sure what's after the uppercut tho
No. Not at all
2:28 I love how their uppercuts goes with the beat
This is why the game is impossible with the slightest input lag. That means that you can't play this game on an emulator, even official ones like Virtual console or NES classic mini, the prefered way is on a real console and a non-HD CRT, a really old and at the time cheap flatscreen TV from around 2007 usually works. If you don't have that, other than a TV with really low input lag, it's also a good idea to use a FPGA console or a line doubler like OSSC or Framemeister.
More accurate emulatore like FCEUX and a good controller work fine without input lag.
Not gonna lie, the Switch in handheld mode or with a pro controller on tabletop mode is pretty okay
I actually beat mr dream on the switch online emulator
I've actually beaten it on a Computer emulator taught me basically to learn the patterns as I fight
I beat tyson on emulator. Didn't feel any lag
Have mercy, I clicked this without thinking at max volume with earbuds. I am In desperate need of either a doctor, Doc, or a chocolate bar.
I am curious how are you even supposed to dodge Mike Tyson's Jab, if you cant even tell if he is going to do it, even considering If your reaction time is above average.
just hold block until you run out of hearts
Not only is it one of the few attacks you can block in this part of the game, not *only* can you counter when you block one, but he also has a semi-pattern. He usually throws 2 punches, then a pause. He can throw 1 punch and a pause, the pause is long enough and consistent enough that if you dodge twice, you'll still make it. Again, the pauses are *around* the same length, and the hitbox only stays for a fraction of a second, so even on a bad read or minor prediction you'll likely dodge. This was probably what the devs wanted you to do, but it's just as easy to block, then counter-punch.
2:27 dam, that's crazy
Macho man's uppercuts always felt so fast though!
Wait the dreaded Dynamight Uppercuts aren't the fastest. Could've sworn people told me it was only a few frames! Also 0.1 seconds is 6 frames. His jab is like a fast smash tilt lol!
If I remember well, sometimes Bald Bull does a longer stay before charge
Yeah, I did a few and go the one that was lose to average.
Mac: Help Me please doc
Doc: no, subscribe to this UA-camr
There's actually a pattern to the first ten mike Tyson jabs in round 2 so that makes them very easy to dodge when you get the timing of the dodge pattern down.
All I’m seeing is mac getting the s@$t beaten out of him really fast
2:25 -2:35
Darn, I for sure Glass Joe was going to win the hardest to dodge award. 😉

3:23 I knew Soda Pop's jabs would land there
I'm pretty sure that by S you meant Frames but i'm not master of console times and frames so take this comment as Opinion
I converted it to seconds. That just seems to me to be more relatable than frames. But maybe I'm wrong. I should make that clear in the description. Thanks for mentioning it.
@@philive1681 ok
It's pretty easy to convert yourself -- it's 60 frames per second (or, well, 59.9).
@@Dhalin ok
Great vid fun to see all of the punches
Now THIS is some interesting data...
I would love to see this done for Punch Out Wii.
