- At #LewisFamilyFarms we enjoy trying our hands at exotic plants. This video shows some of our exotic plants. I am sure how they will grow or if they will produce but we are trying anyway. We just enjoy Planting.
Good job 👏
Did you buy the seeds are you get it from a apple you eat
Love what your doing. Keep it up!
It is good to know you are trying. However, I believe many Jamaicans have tried the American apples before. Perhaps even cultivated a full tree, but no fruits. According to research these trees, the apples and the kiwi vine need to go through a certain amount of winter cold before they will bare fruits. Therefore, I strongly suggested you grow some in Mandeville, or the high peek of blue mountain before giving up. May God bless you with this endeavor. And Please share your results. If Jamaicans can have a bobsled team, I would be cool to grow American apples and kiwis too. Nothing beats trying.
Thanks for your encouraging words. I will not give up. I am doing it for the joy of farming. Blessings

Any seed will germinate but apples need 500 to 1000 chill hours to bear so the question is will they bear fruits.
hello plz reply do the American apples bear a fruit I was seeing another video on how to do it and he said it is only rootstock and I don't know what that is so I want to know if they bear fruit when the tree is ready to bear a fruit, yes or no plz reply
It is the first time that I am planting American apples. I have never seen it in Jamaica, so this is only an experiment.
Do you buy the apple straight from the store?
Yes, thea apples were bought directly from the supermarket here in Jamaica. Blessings, try it and let me know how it turns out.
@@lewisfamilyfarms ok i will
The interesting I was telling you bout was actually mites
Use up your Pegasus.
How did you germinate the apples
Thanks for your question. I wrapped them in paper towel and wet the paper towel. I then placed in a plastic bag and left it in the bottom of the fridge until they started sprouting. After they germinated I planted them into a small pot and took care of them like I would with any other seedlings.
I hope that is clear enough. If it is not just let me know and I would do a video demonstrating it.
@@lewisfamilyfarms thanks for responding 🙏
Couldn't you just leave them on your kitchen counter to germinate instead of putting them in your refrigerator?
I guess that is possible. I have never tried that. It might work but I was just sharing my experience. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. Bless you
@@lewisfamilyfarms I'm going to try both ways and see what happens. Thank you for sharing.
