coolest builds ive seen, the 1ton axles swap is especially cool .convenience of a half ton pickup, with the hauling towing capacity of a 1ton.300 hp is incredible for that 4bt ,stock one is what 80 - 100 hp maybe 120 ?

Looks cool but I wouldn’t trust those welds passed 20 mph. Prob didn’t do a start up cause he was worried the front end would fall out
Travis Keffer hits 80mph on the freeway like nothing. The welds weren’t the cleanest bc I got laid off and had a week to have the truck out of the hangar I was working in. But you better believe they held and still hold. Double passed sometimes for deeper penetration. Done 300 mile straight trips. Not a problem. Everyone is a critic until they get behind the wheel. Lol

@@justanotheraviator2357 It does alright. More time and money would make for a better suspension. But it was fine for what I used it for. I unfortunately had to sell it a couple years after I got married bc my wife hated getting up in the thing. lol

Yeah, not my best work, but like I said in an earlier post I had to fab something up and I couldn't order anything bc I had a week to get the truck out of the shop. That's what I came up with. Lol

A few corrections to this video, (I don't know how to add text since youtube got rid of it's editor), the HX30 has a 6cm exhaust housing. I am fueling at 180 cc/1000 not 300cc/1000. Sorry

back left brake flex line is going to wear against the parking brake lever if you dont re route it

How did you do that swap here in Utah with the emission laws that we have? In fact, the federal emission requirements state that you have to put the same year or newer engine as the vehicle it is going in along with all of the emission components. I was going to put a 24 valve in an 01 which was going to be the same year and same vehicle and they even pitched a fit about that.
Lots of counties in utah dont do emissions
Yeah Utah is one of those states. I just showed up to the emissions office and took them out to my truck, popped the hood, and fired it up. They gave me the exemption and I got the title changed to diesel.

Nice build. Some questions... Do you have upgraded valve springs? What is your fan setup? Are you using a lift pump?
Yes valve springs are the 60lb ones i think. I am running dual electric fans. They only turn on if I am stomping on the gas or towing. I am using the stock fuel pump for the p pump.
kinda want my 4.6 in my 04 to finally go out so I can do a 4bt swap...
It’s a Sterling 10.25, not a 10.5..... I’m sure that’s what you meant though

Are the coilovers angled inward?
Did you ever get the A/C working? What was needed to control the A/C clutch. I’m currently doing almost the same swap, also with axle swaps.
I actually sold the truck before I finished the AC, but the new owner I believe did it. All that was needed was custom lines to connect the cummins AC compressor to the F150 lines.

Are you not afraid of wearing the engine prematurely with two turbos in series, an hx35 which is for larger displacement engines such as the 6bt and an hx30
No. Not really. I don't need to stomp on the pedal very often. It just makes my low end RPM driving way more enjoyable. If, I were racing the thing then yes I would be a bit worried and would have put fire rings and I would be checking for blowby every other day.

Sick build hands down. I just don’t think the blue pipes under the hood match or look good on this truck.
Go black and it would look 100 times nicer and less chaotic/messy.
Yeah. You're right about that. There were certain times I was in a crunch to get this done and my color options were sparse at best, so I just bought what I could get quick.
Sick. What are power figures? How much for a shop to do this, you think?
~300HP and 700+ ft lb torque. Arm and a leg for a shop to do it, unless you knew a guy and could have him do it afterhours or something.

It's been really good to me, but im nearing 350k miles now. This swap got my attention. But with the money I'd have to invest I might as well save up for a diesel F-150, and modify that. But this is really cool thanks for sharing

Yeah it used to be my daily, and then my wife couldn't get into the truck so we sold it.

Markus Jensen vacuum pump works great. Hydro boost was not an option for me eother
I'm about to finish a 4bt/nv4500 swap in a jku. Running a vacuum pump on a relay triggered off the brake light switch. Working great so far.

what made you decide on turbos so similar in size?
Mainly because of the compressor map for each turbo and the pressure drop across them. Makes a lot of boost efficiently without getting too far off the boost map.
What is your MPG
It looks cool, and all the parts are cool. But it’s all worthless when your front end falls out from underneath you because you didn’t want to pay somebody(an expert) to do the welding.

lol. Already sold. Double/triple pass welding (with deep penetration) in the wind, doesn't look as good but is as strong as hell.
you need to take out the first intercooler ,your loosing power. the turbo likes hot air , you just need a good one after the second turbo
The first intercooler allows me to be in a more efficient spot on the primary turbo. I just added some links to the description. Check out the 300hp calculation thread, it explains it.

Yes looking back those welds were left to be desired. The shop I was working at kicked me out and I had 5 days to get the thing drivable. Couldn't take my time. Thanks tho.

How much roughly did the engine swap cost?
Got the van with the 4bt for $2-3k at auction, then sold the van frame and the 5.4 Triton motor and a bunch of other stuff I didn't need. I think all in for everything I was a little over $10k including the truck itself. I had to wait around a lot waiting for good deals tho.
What kind of MPG are you getting out of her
23-30 mpg depending on how I was driving. Did a couple trips to Idaho and back to Utah at 30mpg.

lol. You're right. A stock F-150 and this one get about the same MPG. Around 18-20. Except this one has 35" tires. and 700 torque.

I like it, but that's a lot of work and money to simply avoid driving a ram...
Lots of work... Heck yeah! Too much. My reasoning was I wanted a 4 door and I wanted a mechanical fuel pump. Ram never offered that. Plus I had loads of extra time when I started because I was single at the time, so I could. lol. I would probably change a lot of things if I had to do it over.
