Yazd is known as the first city of raw clay in the world and is registered as the first historical city of Iran and the 22nd historical monument of the country in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city of Yazd is considered one of the medical and cultural hubs of Iran, and the world's first trust fund was established 1700 years ago in the field of civilization of this city.
Jame Mosque of Yazd is like a porch in the heart of the desert and was built during about 1000 years and three periods. The main foundations of the mosque were laid on a fire temple during the Sassanid era, but after Islam, it was completed as a mosque during the Ilkhanid and Timurid periods. The dome building belongs to the Ilkhani period and the upper door of the mosque is considered to belong to Shahrukh and the Timurid period. This building is famous for its dome, lofty and long pediment, as well as beautiful and unique tiling.
Zarach aqueduct of Yazd
The length of this aqueduct is 100 km and it is considered as one of the longest aqueducts in the world. Every year, many domestic and foreign tourists travel to the beautiful city of Yazd to visit this aqueduct. It is more than 30 thousand years old and its length is approximately 1000 km.
