Thanks for doing these detailed duck id's they are very helpful. Have u ever mistaken a ring neck for a scaup greater or lesser? People get in trouble all the time with that especially since now we have special regulations for scaup. Do u have a time in Nebraska when u can't hunt scaup?
Hey guys. Long time subscriber here. I’d love some input on the following: I’m in NC. Hunt mostly on Eastern Shore MD. Sad to say but the AP is all but dead, boys. One-bird limit and only a 30-day contiguous season. No split. What was once the Mecca of Canada goose hunting is getting really close to going back to a moratorium I’m afraid. So I’m 60. Active and fit. Professional vid editor and still very involved in my business, but have tons of freedom finally. Doesn’t matter where I live... Am thinking about moving to Midwest or upper Midwest for Oct-Dec this year. Cheap rental, etc. My modus operandi is light and fast solo field hunting. Mostly geese. Three dozen sillos and a layout blind. In and out. Leaving nothing but boot prints. QUESTION: If you could go anywhere in the US for those three months to hunt geese, where would it be? And why... Looking primarily for two characteristics: 1 - Reasonable chance to have good migratory numbers. 2 - Reasonable chance to find farmers that are receptive to having a respectable guy coming up unannounced and humbly asking permission...even if they decline. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated...
Oh ok, I thought you were classing every duck species that dives, in my area when we talk about divers we usually are referring to lesser scaups, mergansers, and diving sea ducks like eiders, those are primarily what we hunt up here
This is where meat comes from. All animals we harvest are eaten. The fees from licenses and hunting gear go back to preserve and rehabilitate wildlife habitat, benefiting ducks and many other species.
This is great refresher even for the veteran hunter. Good video. Heh distinction is very tough on these divers
Thanks Titus! The diver hens can trip anyone up.
Thank you for including sea ducks! I live on the east coast and see them a lot!
No problem!
@@HighPrairieSportsmen I all ready know cause I live in alaska
Great videos!
Thanks!
Nice video Matt, great info. I suck at diver ID when they're in flight, took me all of last season to just start picking it up
Thanks Thomas!
Great video Matt keep it up getting me all excited for Teal season the 2019 2020 waterfowl guide dropped today too.
Thanks! I'll have to go pick a couple up.
First! Great video very helpful!👍
Thanks!
I’m not a hunter but like your srTr8 forward style👍🏻
Appreciate it!
Divers looking pretty cool! I almost never target em
Yeah they are!

Glad to hear it. Never have mistaken a ringneck for a scaup. The bills are fairly different. We can hunt scaup all season.
Greater Scaup has a wider beak
👍🏻

I'd say the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado for birds. Access is hard to come by nowadays without references, at least in Nebraska.
Eiders and old squaws?
Those are sea ducks.

@@matthewbailey940 I still need to do a sea duck video. Probably this offseason
@@HighPrairieSportsmen I would love to see a sea duck hunt, eiders are really fun to hunt and are one of my favourite ducks to hunt
@@matthewbailey940 King eiders and harlies are at the top of my list
This series is making me want to shoot some ducks! LOL Great video!
Haha thanks man!
You should try bluebill hunting on may 16 2024 and post it on UA-cam pls
Season's closed currently
Mergansers???
Not a diver. They're their own category.
Don’t kill ducks literally no need

@@HighPrairieSportsmen ok that makes it better I’m glad to hear that
