#BeeGees #YouWinAgain
One of my favorite BeeGees songs!
As someone said..... "There was a time when the Bee Gees weren't on the charts, they WERE the charts".
That was Maurice Gibb...
Из России,подтверждаю!
And the Bee Gees were totally off the charts !
This song still hits as hard now in '24 as it did Inthe 80's😊
Before this song came out in 1987, people thought the Bee Gees were finished. Then they put out this absolute classic. I think it's one of their best songs.
so do I
Yea I remember saying when this was released ' the masters are back with a bang!'... and they were.... they everything away with this song.
This is my favourite Bee Gees' track
@elpistolero82 Absolutely correct. They were, unwittingly, starting to become a joke, a caricature of the disco days of the 70's. They played it extremely cool, worked the shadows, perfecting this song, and their wardrobe, a far cry from the medallions and tight jeans of the 70s. Only when they were happy with the finished product, they unleashed it on a still unsuspecting public. Number one EVERYWHERE. The Bee Gees had the last laugh. It showed to me just exactly how clever they really were. Unfortunately there is only Barry left now, but in their day, they were unmatchable. Legendary singles and albums, fantastic videos and clothes, amazing dance routines and absolutely incredible voices.
This and Man in the Middle are my personal favourites. My favourite movie is Saturday Night Fever and my wedding song was How Deep Is Your Love. Between them and Andy, the brothers really built a huge legacy. 💗
The Bee Gees are one of the greatest groups ever.
Os melhores!
The Bee Gees are the greatest group ever.
You wrote “one of” by accident
@@fataldisaster7937 The Beatles?
@@ericprospero5777 sorry, but they aren't even close to The Bee Gees (although there are a couple of Beatles songs that I like).
It's impossible to describe how perfect this song is, just incredible.
Underrated and easily one of my favorites. The drum beat is apex percussion.
@@danw1951 The drumbeat was originally from Michael Jackson's unreleased song "Tomboy" and later gave it to Beeges, and indeed, it is a hell of a drum beat.
flawless
@@danw1951 Nothing exceptional here; Just generic synth pop with the same synth sounds heard in too many 80s songs. The BG's were much better in the 1960s.
@@TheRunner75 Disagree. But thanks for your opinion.
And now for my unsolicited opinion: I think everything between Mr. Natural and Spirits Having Flown is their best work. Which is not to disparage any of their previous work. Especially Massachusetts and To Love Somebody. Just two cents you didn't ask for.
Greatest Bee Gees song of all time.
Barry's best look.1:24 look at that
Agree❤
Absolutely brilliant 👌
What a fantastic time it was... we had the Bee Gees, Queen, Genesis, Dire Straits, Roxette, A-HA, INXS, Michael Jackson, Mike & the Mechanics, Prince, Tom Petty, George Michael, ZZ Top, Tina Turner, Dio, Motörhead, The Police, OMD, Kenny Loggins, Huey Lewis, Gary Moore, Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, ELO, The Cure, Bruce Springsteen and so many more.
And what the hell do we have now? I can't see anybode of those so-wanted "superstars" perform for 10-20 years or more, like most of those from my list and STILL be that good. Look at the Bee Gees here, with what an huge impact they came back with this song. Sometimes I feel sorry for todays young people who mostly never will hear really good non-autotune music.
🤘👌👍👍
we got 'lady fap quack' or something :P
I agree with you but now we have Coldplay they’re been around for longer than 20 years
@@leonidasgts7940 agree, but they haven't had an absolutely banging song for a long time. The last one of theirs that went down really well here was “A sky full of stars” - and that was 10 years ago. Since then, they've released one or two more songs, but they're all so lame and unrecognizable.
That’s bc many artists today are more committed to money and themselves than the fun of their talent. I never saw the Bee Gees flaunt their money and fame. They didn’t ditch each other. They didn’t turn their group over to being a business that can hire or fire members! They were all for one and one for all - each other. Not only their music lives one, but their example to other artists as well.
People don’t realize how much great music The Bee Gees are responsible for
They were the best of the best.
Even if "Stayin' Alive" was their only hit, they'd still be on top.
Over a 100 number one hits
It's the chord progressions that really get me
Unbelievable Unbelievable Unbelievable. Never ever in my .. okay only 28 years of age I have heard such good songs... Barry, Robin, Maurice... wow it’s SO amazing you will always be my favorite band, and so so so sad I never had a chance to see you all play. Wow. Jealous at the people who actually were able to. Amazing songs in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s you are such an inspiration. And even though Maurice and Robin are gone they still inspire me as well , that much that I wrote a song about the Bee Gees and inspired by you three 🥺♥️ Love the music and will always tell people how amazing you were and Barry still is :-)
I just went on a nostalgic trip with Saturday Night Fever (on 4K UHD) and was grooving along with the movie's soundtrack, and I thought, what was that late 80s hit from the Bee Gees? And this is it! Amazing! Of course, it immediately had to be added to my Apple Music playlist. What a song! SNF was 1977, and this hit was 1987, it's reassuring to know these hits will never get old!
This was Princess Diana's favorite song and Phil Collins was jealous of the stomps.
I thought her favorite song was Michael Jackson's"Dirty Dianna "...
Diana (died in a nasty accident )
Ohh
I thought it was something by chris de burgh
I'm guessing he means it was Diana's favorite Bee Gees song.
I’m 44 and my mom listened to them. Dam.... still makes today’s musicians sound like amateurs.
Me too
this song is the result of putting your heart and soul into making something.. Barry even got the idea for the chorus from a dream!
good for your mom then.
Yep - in terms of sheer song writing ability, I don’t think anyone can touch them.
Agree. Nowadays most music seem to be more made asap to get quickly much money. People earlier seemed to use more love to their music and made such masterpieces. Obviously that doesn't count with all modern music creators, but many, lets say rappers, lack quality imo.
Music of today can’t even compete with legendary treasure like this
Don't dismiss modern music so easily man. It's not all mass produced, synthetic rubbish. The Bee Gees and all the other musical legends that we still love now will no doubt inspire countless musicians currently working and will continue to do so for generations. There is some truly beautiful, genuine music out there if you look for it.
I heard Sleep Token comes close
@@sjf9535 We shouldn't have to go and look for it though. Music is supposed to be a social thing. Not something you sit there listening to with your headphones on. It should be shared and discussed. Why is 98% of the top 40 crap?
@@janjensen3220 No, it doesn't. Nowhere near. That's actually laughable.
@@sjf9535 Give us an example then, of a band that compares to Bee Gees. I'll wait..
A winner always a winner 🏆
RIP the three members of The Bee Gees
Maurice Gibb (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003), aged 53
Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012), aged 62
Andy Gibb (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988), aged 30
You will be remembered as legends.
Also Andy Gibb
Were they twins?
Andy was a solo artist not a Bee Gees member.
@@Kriegerdammerungyes they were
Damn, 30 years and 5 days... sad.
But then, historically, half the people died as children before age 10. He lived 3x+ that.
My favourite Bee Gees song. The vocals on this song are off the chart. The drop at end of second verse is absolutely outstanding. Gives me shivers ❤️
My fave one from them too!
Just hearing this song for the first time - really hearing it though I am a fan of these guys. The drums are the only part of the arrangement/song I do not like so clunky- like a poor Depeche Mode song. Anyone else have this reaction at all? Love the song in other ways but mild detractor those drums.
@@etamommy I think the percussion gives it a solidity, a foundation ,it makes it for me, but each to his/her own.
@@colinmiller5502 Probably I will get used to it and it will no longer be an issue for me but hearing it with fresh ears, I think those clunky drums are too distracting.
Love this song it makes me cry every time I hear You Win Again! 🧡
Robin's background voice it's something magic! ✨
AMEN!!!!!!
I AGREE!!
Oh yeah!
I would’ve loved to have heard Robin as frequently on Bee Gees singles as Barry was featured. It’s almost like the only two songs that Robin fronted were “I Started a Joke” and “Got to Get a Message to You”. On the other hand, I might be in the dark. Born in January 1980, I’m fortunate I can even name those two songs.

I love you😆
This is and was the ultimate quintessential Bee Gees song. It's sad there is only Barry Gibb still alive . RIP Robin, Maurice and Andy
No, it's not...there are others before
Yes! 😢😢
This was apparently the Bee Gees reformulating their sound for the 80s, after disco had gone out of fashion.
It shows that good writing and singing fits into any era.
First off, Barry Gibb looks absolutely HOT with his hair like that....and secondly, if you live in a region like I do that gets a lot of snow (Minnesota) this song is a GREAT snow shoveling song. You'll have to trust me on that.
I’m 21 years old and I’ll never stop listening to this music, love it forever!!
Glad you appreciate this song....but it's not the song it's the memories that makes this song so timeless and moving. If you lived those times, and what a time, what a wonderful time to live and this song captures that magical time.

In the middle of the 80s the bee Gees banged out two of the decades greatest hits. “You win again” and Diana Ross’s chain reaction. I was about 3 years old when these tracks came out but they left an indelible mark on my young mind. Now as a composer and record producer myself, and 5 or so million records sold under my belt I can’t help but get emotional listening to their music which has been so important in my own development. The point i’m trying to make is, an incredible song is not just “an incredible song”. it’s not just a piece of art/ commerce that enriches the maker and entertains the consumer. To the psyche of the young mind It’s a potential DNA changing element, defining how future generations abstract their world. Thank you to the BeeGees for helping me abstract mine.
then you woke up

It was a massive #1 in the UK, even kept George Michael off the top spot, didn't do as well in the US for some reason...
Sorry. Where underrated? In Europe and in many countries in Asia an Latin American was a a massive hit.
@@stumm71 I can only speak to the US market it didn't get much play here. I assume partly or maybe even mostly due to the Anti-Disco movement. It only peaked at 75 on the Billboard 100 anything over 40 hardly saw any airplay. Europe still was a big fan of Disco/Tech long after it faded away in the US.
@@trolled_you_so1516 Thanks for your response. I imagine from your comment that you are from the United States. I share with you that the Bee Gees were not successful again there because of the anti-disco movement. which was actually an anti-black and anti-gay movement. Unfortunately, you have serious problems in that sense that have not been resolved in centuries. That's why much of the rest of the world doesn't pay attention to them and we don't care if it's a musical hit or not in the u.s.a.
