I love the cleanliness that BCU shows every time they perform. I'm glad they're not trying to be the loudest band because they have size. The have control, they phrase, and breath together as a section as written in their music. They are the model band. #Perfectionist
BCU always sounds great! If the music is arranged impeccably it doesn't matter how big your band is and NSU has proven this in this challenge. This was a tie.
k g I hat when people say that about bcu. They play challenging arrangements. Their slower (show songs) are more challenging and they sold like they are in a studio while on the field. As I studied bcu and many others they indeed have challenging pieces.
Everyone saying NSU hung in their with Cookman must not realize how much of a sound difference it would have been in person. Also BCU's arrangements are crazy to the trained listener. The way they pass the melody between euphonium's, bones and trumpets just goes without saying.
No HBCU is f**king with BCU in the sound department....NSU...excellent job...I honestly am not even missing the size. 2 of the best bands around....good shit!
Man! NSU handled BCU! BCU sounded great as usual but so did NSU. NSU had more difficulty in their arrangements and they were only a quarter of the size of BCU. If BCU was the size of NSU I personally think the would be exposed! Lol. I may be wrong but I just think musically they wouldn't be able to outplay or out speak NSU if they were NSUs size. NSU you amaze me every time I watch you. BCU- that Sleeping in my bed was great but I just wanted more from a band of that size and talent I know you
im from VA and basically stay at NSU dont care what nobody say i LOVE THE LEGION and THE PRIDE... but that dirty diana be killing everytime Norfolk play it
When you got 350 vs 150 there is suppose to be a difference in volume contrast but what does that say about BCU when Lil ol’ Norfolk St’s sound can keep the attention of Wildcat members???? Low key BCU loves Norfolk and vice verse but make no mistake about it NORFOLK STATE HAS AN EXCELLENT PROGRAM IF NOT ONE OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY. Exposure to diverse audiences my play a factor as to why BCU has a larger number in recruiting its members but If Norfolk had THE PRIDE’s SIZE with their level of musicianship..... GAME OVER!
Great job BCU!!!! NSU I just started following this season.....despite your size in numbers you sound great!!!! Excellent job to both bands!! SWAC pay attention......not every song you play has to have the HELL blown out of it!!!!
This was a good battle, I give the win to BCU. You guys have a great sound. However, you guys should consider making your arrangements more challenging. The arrangements seem to be pretty basic, that's not always a bad idea, but do not be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. NSU was great for the size. If they were bigger I would have gave them the win. A few more trombones and btones would have made dirty d. You guys are great and have the best arrangements and great attention to detail!!!
P.S. The Bands (I Think) that has the best arrangements right now in HBCU band goes to NSU and NC A&T. Just listen to those arrangement! If NC A&T cleans up their sound a little more OMG!
Both bands were great! It's just that every time I see BCU I know they will play full (cause of their size ) and balanced. But I want them to surprise me with some things you can do musically. Arrangements should wow arrangers, not basic rhythms or basic songs. And if you do do a basic song, spice it up with originality. Mr. Wells your program is amazing! Show me you're versatility
Not the all nighter I saw BCU have with TnSU (which I love) but this is good stuff. High quality sounds from both groups. NSU is hanging in there even with the drastic drop in numbers.
YOUR opinion is not up for debate AS WELL AS MINES! Nice showing Sparties..decent 5th between the two, but I edge out the W to the Pride! The sound, balance, and blend within that program is ONE to be modeled after. #HAILWILDCATS
I love u hear in the background the girl says really about the song selection but yet this the they get cranked on with..lol love both bands not favoring.

Im loving that Out On A Limb too.
Yes love the new music BCU!!!! Keep doing yall thang! Love Norfolks arrangements. But BCU!!!
I am Impressed with NSU Quality of sound...This is the best I heard them since 06 and They are even better than 06
BCU always sounds great! If the music is arranged impeccably it doesn't matter how big your band is and NSU has proven this in this challenge. This was a tie.

And BCU that ballad was beautiful!!! Great to see two great programs at their best
Everyone saying NSU hung in their with Cookman must not realize how much of a sound difference it would have been in person. Also BCU's arrangements are crazy to the trained listener. The way they pass the melody between euphonium's, bones and trumpets just goes without saying.
Kc in a good way or bad?
@@jamesgrantiv80 In a bad way I think the mic greatly increases NSU's sound.
Kc Bethune is louder!
Kc that’s right! NSU always claim they’re the best but that’s a no. This year they got the trombone and baritone hiding the trumpet mistakes 😂😂
Learned from NSU ! Emery Fears and the late Alzie Walker were masters of that style of arranging.
No HBCU is f**king with BCU in the sound department....NSU...excellent job...I honestly am not even missing the size. 2 of the best bands around....good shit!
NORFOLK STATE still sounds great...... i wish i could make it to one of their games.

This goes to show u size means nothing #NSU
@TyChanel I'm glad you put most bands in all caps, because the sitting across from Bcc doesn't fit in the MOST BANDS category...
NSU out out on a limb was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job by both bands!!
Okkk Norfolk all day hands down! !
BCU - Sleeping in my bed by Dru Hill

9:06 Cuh Lord Have mercy.......Dem Dizzys man!!!!!!

Some of y'all need to get off the footage and come see Cookman face to face. See what heat really is.
Like when Southern cooked yall?
Ain't talking bout no heat. Musicality, Musicality. BCU got it, but NSU has more. Look, listen, learn.
I would love to hear that Out on a Limb on a 200 piece Legion. Great job to both bands. No clear winner to me. Both bands have pros & cons
NSU- Amazing! You guys are the most versatile, musical, original, and powerhouse HBCU band out there! Is Paul Adams you guys' arranger?
It woulda been dope if NSU had a gogo mix to respond to that Pretty Girls
They Do "SEXY LADY"!

very impressive BCU and they sounded perfect and nsu sounded good as well but the W goes to BCU in my opinion
That Dirty D!!!!! Pure HEAT!
Both bands were good!
this the only game is heard bcu play that last song I wonder why they put it back on the shelf
P.S. The Bands (I Think) that has the best arrangements right now in HBCU band goes to NSU and NC A&T. Just listen to those arrangement! If NC A&T cleans up their sound a little more OMG!

Why do BCU play songs in them dead and weird keys....#I'm just saying thou
@mackman06 fyi, this song was first a go-go song, before Wale rapped over it. Wale's version dropped in 09...
Not the all nighter I saw BCU have with TnSU (which I love) but this is good stuff. High quality sounds from both groups. NSU is hanging in there even with the drastic drop in numbers.
If NSU had more low brass and a few more trumpets to play the 2nd part....watchouy
What the hell happened to NSU's size? Wow. They still sound great, but where did the numbers go?
The Spartan Legion was not playing any games with big soft BCU
My Dizzies went off on Dirty D...clean screaming. O_o
and....i love BCU's big full sound......i would love to see them against one the top bands in the SWAC.
OH COOKMAN GOT SOME NEW SONGS & YESSS 14K !!!
What was the first song BCU played?
Pretty Girls by Wale
LOL @ Hot Ice flipping their hair at the start of Dirty Diana
BCU got real heat but no book.
YOUR opinion is not up for debate AS WELL AS MINES! Nice showing Sparties..decent 5th between the two, but I edge out the W to the Pride! The sound, balance, and blend within that program is ONE to be modeled after. #HAILWILDCATS
