In the Mayfield tornado the water tower coming down is what most likely saved one womans life. She lived in front of it and when it hit the ground and busted the water from it pushed her from the middle of her living room all the way into the street. Her home was completely leveled and she had multiple injuries including broken leg, but she survived. Praying for everyone affected by this horrible tornado.

An hour old baby might think it's unbelievable. It would be unbelievable if another tornado came along afterwards and rebuilt everything the first tornado destroyed. It should be unbelievable that people STILL build stick houses in tornado valleys, unfortunately, it is extremely believable.

Just how many water towers have you ever seen taken down by a tornado? I’m 62 and have lived in the "tornado zone" all my life and I have seen them dented but never on the ground. Takes a lot of wind to drop a water tower. By design and weight of water they are made to withstand a lot of punishment. Please pray or take a moment to remember my fellow Mississippians at this dire time in their lives. My home escaped with roof damage but moreover my wife and I were spared. Thank you God. Thank you all for your coverage. It takes something like this for Mississippi to even make the news. Mississippians are some of the warmest people you will ever meet. Come on down and visit. Is it just me or does it seem like there has been a lot of Historical weather events lately? First we had record breaking Fires, then Floods/rain, then Snow storms, and now the tornadoes, next will be even more Hurricanes...one already last year in Florida...It's like something or someone is messing with our weather systems, or out atmosphere.. Just so they can continue to blame it on Climate change...Weather balloons flying across our country, UFO sightings, lights in the Sky's at night. .Now, if Dr. Fauchi was able to help create a "Gain of Function" experiment and help to cause the pandemic, and kill millions as some sort of military experiment, then why can't I believe that a Government, or some other Country can't come up with a way to mess with the way weather impacts us?...They have more research than any of us know...and I'm sorry, but Mother Nature would never have all these Historical weather evens in the same time frame...That's were they give themselves away...its over kill, as usual...Someone needs to seriously look into this. I mean, we still have scientist in America right? Some people who work independently, outside the Government that can give us honest findings before we loose one more America life???? Please respond if u have had these feelings too.

Simple. The streets are hard and smooth, whereas the homesites, even after the house is basically blown down, are relatively rough. Parts of the walls are still standing. @eriklerougeuh5772 Рік тому

me too, i just see they often build small outdoor safety room in cement , but all the problem is the cost and what the market propose you,
if you order one, the only one of the city like 400.000$ the cement house instead 250.000 in wood... its understable few people will choose it. but if there was a culture and advertisment around it, you could have hundred of people choosing cement house, you will have several company making factory for cement, and iron skelet, you could 3d cement print it too, and the cost could be cut by half...because if iron skelet is made by hundred, and cement too, and machine can 3d print your house in less than a week, yes its something worth to be done....
politican can play a role too, imagine if they push for law for cheaper loan and insurance if you opt for build a tornado proof house, that could help to shift architecture and at the end save lives when tornadoes will eventually run into these houses...
you can also if not in flood aera make a cement basement too, half burried house are very resistant^^
with cement spheric/dome, the only thing they risk is to loose window/shutter, its certainly less expensive

@@eriklerougeuh5772 Domes can actually be cheaper to build. There is also the labor intensive but selfbuildable method of dirt bag adobe. There are geodesic dome kits, but those are probably not as sturdy as a monolithic dome. There is one builder that was building batches of small homes with spray on cement and insulation blown inside a vinyl inflatable dome and the vinyl stays on the outside as waterproof coating. It's very fast. Beats the trailer park. Doesn't have that stickbuilt white picket fence street appeal, though. Takes some getting used to. Round space is really more appealing in the interior. There is something soothing and womb-like about it. There was also some guy in the 1950's that was trying to push cement domes built on an inflatable form as a solution to low cost housing. Some were made but it never caught on that much. Can't remember the guy's name unfortunately. And yeah, now there is the 3d cement builds that could be workable. I like the Italian designed one made with mud. It's beautiful, if small.

Yes while a good idea in theory in reality you have to remember this storm like so many hit in the middle of the night! It’s nearly impossible to find the entrance of a storm shelter that’s mostly buried under ground in pitch black in the middle of a storm like that. It would take serious planning, practice drills bright flashing LEDs etc and if enough warning people to actually get in the shelters in time and wait! It could help if done right and supported. But living in Kansas I see all the time the sirens go off and people go outside and look without ever taking the threat seriously until it’s too late. Sad but true. God bless all the people affected now!
