This looks cool. I played a lot of WoW vanilla private servers before Activision Blizzard make it an official product. I will definitely try Echoes of Angmar out once the beta starts. I first tried LOTRO back in 2010 when it went free to play but quit shortly after due to the game still mostly being behind a pay wall. I came back to LOTRO about 2 months ago when they did the 15th Anniversary celebration and gave anyway pretty much the whole game besides for the latest expansion but I got to level 36 Hunter and quit because the game was way to easy, to much content, and no one ever does group content besides for end game stuff which is sad because as a new player I wanted to experience the older content. As someone who missed the launch of LOTRO I hope this will let me experience the "golden" days of LOTRO.
@@tylerk9455 A lot has changed. But basically, SOA was way more group focues.. A large portion of the quests required a group. There is also no Lotro store, so no way to skip or p2w.
Indeed, if you read on the site it says Book 11 version. There were apparently nerfs to the landscape quests and mobs after that, so this will be the most difficult version of SOA.
It's difficult to pinpoint one specific instance of it, but if you look through LOTRO-wiki's patch note history you can identify several parts of LOTRO's timeline in which combat was either sped up or made easier. This SoA version ought to be meaningfully more difficult, even in just regular landscape content.
@@wolfmaster1 i mean it seems even tougher than day 1 and i was there... i never remember having such a hard time with one single elite for a full group
As soon as i saw that lotro gonna have a server who gonna bring us back to the golden days of this diamond i started shaking.....this game was is and will be my favorite....thanx for all echoes of angmar guys!
This is sooo good, love it! Please keep the best state of the game alive. Thank you so much. Moria would be great as well with lothlorien. Dar narbugud was a great dungeon back in the days at lvl 60.
No "Wings of the Windlord" (BRGYBR) on the conjunctions? I was always 5B in raids lol In SoA, the "Blue" users got Oathbreakers, and could rename them. This was later patched out, but if you had already named your Oathbreaker, every time you used this conjunction and were Blue, it'd summon the one you named. You can see "Wiggles" in Mirkwoods expansion born here: ua-cam.com/video/cigE-Vx1Ykw/v-deo.html
Is this going to be with the original gameplay? Like before the the skill trees came about and the game was significantly more challenging in landscape?
I'm so fucking hyped, got my CD booklet out of the box. I shed a tear as watched this. Brought back so much memories... I love this game so much. Until they ruined it, but the good days are back
I'm found out your project yesterday, i'v downlaoded everything made an account, now i don't know how i will deal with my impatience to play. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done here. This is the only thing i was certain would never happen, the only thing i would not dare hope for.
Alpha has already concluded, the stress testing begins in the end of the summer and open beta(early-access) shortly after. You can read about it here: echoesofangmar.com
@@DudeOO Yeah I know, its sad. But hopefully the people hosting the game knows what they are doing. Techincally, there isn't anything illegal hosting a private server for educational purposes. They are not profiting of the LOTR IP, and they don't distribute any copyrighted material. They could try to C&D the server host, but on what grounds? The actual server only contains the server code which isn't copyright protected by either MEE/SSG.
From the official website: Echoes of Angmar offers a true vanilla experience with all content up to and including Volume I, Book 11 faithfully recreated. This means original zones and quest chains, complete (pre-split) instances, and yes, even the old trait system. You use the original client to connect to our server. No cash shop, no quest helper, original difficulty. We hope you still remember how to get around the Old Forest without a map! The server is currently under active development. Public stress-testing is expected to begin in late summer 2022, with open beta coming shortly after. We will post all necessary information here as we get closer to launch so keep an eye on this page if you're interested in joining the testing.

Been wishing for this for 14 years! i got to play in the stress test, can't wait for it to be open.
This is so much better than the current woke trash
Amazing!
LOTRO was the Game, where I could live for years if devs didn't make it easy like shit. Hope Angmar server will start soon.
for some reason it seems even tougher from what i remember

This looks amazing!! Is the minstrel going to have the original Tier 1-3 ballads and Symphony of the Hopeful Heart again?
If it was in SOA yes, the skills/trait and combat system is original as its using the real SOA client.

Where Beta?
What’s the “you died?” You don’t die in lotro, you retreat to a rally point
This is the death screen in Souls games, just added it for the lols.
Can we join alpha version?

Still prefer the current LOTRO imo, then again I like to fly solo as much as I can as I enjoy it best
But we have done that for 10+ years now, this offers a different experience. Not against live Lotro but finally something fresh.
