Edward is the hot blooded, passionate one who acts before thinking and always throws himself in harm's way for what is right regardless of consequences. Roy is far more calculating, he bides his time, doesn't take any chances and 'waits for it' as he crawls his way up the military's ranks, playing the long game to put an end to Bradley's rule. And, well, they also did have a duel :D.

I don't know the exact episode, but it's where havoc and mustang are in the hospital after the fight with lust. In this scene, havoc grabs mustang and tells him to give him up because he cant feel his legs anymore
its ep 21 if i remember right, havoc grabs roy’s coat when they’re in the hospital screaming to just give up on him, that he’s a lost cause and riza holds havoc down as roy leaves
