You've been releasing new content like crazy, and the quality is not suffering for it! Great video as always. Hope you're giving yourself some rest too 💗
Musts for my wardrobe are definitely a biker jacket, a great pair of comfortable, pointy flats and a flowy dress that can take you from warm to cool weather. I think I'm possibly one of the only woman who doesn't own a trench or anything in linen (even blended with cotton I find it itchy). lol
I'm not a person that wears blazers or jeans 😶 I had them before and ended up decluttering them because I didn't wear them :-/ I think everyone has different essencial pieces :)
Exactly my thoughts. I hate wearing jeans, don't like usual t-shirts, never put on blazer cuz I don't like them, so for me the essential peaces are various seasonal dresses, skrits, stockings and basic tops plus denim and leather jacket.
I don’t wear jeans, blazers or dresses either. Instead of jeans, I love wearing casual pants that can also be dressed up and are in lightweight material that have a bit of stretch as well. I find them so much more comfortable than jeans.
My can’t live without item: an offwhite silk or cotton lace blouse. It brightens my complexion and i can wear it with denim shorts , silk midi skirt or slim pants, and look more dressy than a tshirt.
I just bought a pair of white eyeglass frames and had prescription lenses put in them -- in pink! Edgy for me. After that I bought some tortoise shell frames and had polarized, charcoal lenses put in, with a blue reflective mirror coating. Love them!! I think different eyeglasses are my "thing."
Love your videos! I am 5'2" and have always struggled with my wardrobe. Bought tons of clothes but never have a thing to wear! At my age I'm not focusing on trendy, just trying to create timeless elegance. I hope to get in on your next class. My three daughters are enjoying your videos also! My youngest has been obsessed with Mejuri for quite some time! We love your style!
My daring item is a nice pair of elbow-length gloves ☺️. I actually own different lengths and cuts of gloves from knuckle length, to bicep, each with their matching jackets ☺️. You are correct @dearlybethany that it takes a bit of courage to wear such things. Mine came from watch great tv heroines who loved fashion. They helped me accept my love for it too and get out there! 💃💃
I have a pair of dark wash straight leg jeans and a pair of slacks that I can not live without. I also have 3 black blazers that save the day. Instead of an everyday necklace, I have statement gold earrings. I have a black trench that comes through in the spring-like weather. I love your videos. You are inspiring me.
I love the fact that you dive deep into the philosophy of clothing and styling. While others finish their jobs by wearing numerous outfits, your job begins, you tell us what really matters . Lots of love ♥️
Okay so I'm going to college this fall and I really wanted to re-evaluate my style so I'll be taken seriously and I'll feel confident so Bethany I can't thank you enough because you're a literal lifesaver thank you for the videos and I really NEED to have white sneakers I can't live without them 🤭
Earlier this year I took the plunge on a classic Burberry trench. I had wanted one for years and I absolutely do not regret it! It’s gorgeous and will definitely stand the test of time.
My one item would probably be a leather jacket. I wanted one for a long time before getting my first one and i still wear it non-stop. It's very practical for my lifestyle even if not the best for summer days, but good for nights.
One staple in my closet and I will continue to re-buy, it goes with everything and I wear it everyday as a layering piece is a charcoal grey fleece columbia jacket. I love the way it looks, has zip pockets and keeps me warm.
I started watching your videos only a few weeks ago and since then I’ve bought two new pairs of shoes and a new pair of (proper) jeans that compliment my short legs. It has skyrocketed my confidence. Thank you so much for your videos !
My jewelries! Rings, necklace, earrings and a watch. Most of my pieces are simple heirlooms from my Mom and gifts from my sister. I feel close to them when I wear anything from either of them. As for clothes, black pants are my go-to office wear, Mon-Thu; jeans on Fri.
Hi Bethany, I just discovered your channel and I think its the best thing that ever happened to me. Do you mind making video on tips how to style sneakers for petite to look tall. thanks a bunch!
Masterclass has been reopened for the next 24 hours for those who missed it! It officially closes at 10am ET July 16. So if you want to join, grab a spot now! 👉 www.dearlybethany.com/
Loved these tips! I think I'm missing something daring. For me, a black jumper and cardigan are a must-have. A jumper that's a perfect fitting and a long cardigan, for a more relaxed look.
Hats! Definitely. I wear a hat in every season. Summer has pretty sunhats, wide rimmed for a beachy look or with a dress, a narrow rimmed one with shorts or jeans, oh yeah! In autumn there’s nothing more vibey than a skirt, a pair of boots, a cardigan or trench coat and a pretty felt hat, a cloche or a beret. Love! And winter with its versatile knit hats, which are both warm and a fashion statement. I’m definitely a hat girl. 👒
Could you consider making a video about which neckline is most flattering for different body types/face shapes? (or please point me the right direction if you already have something like this). Thank you!
The jeans!!!! I always had jeans that would have gap over my butt, but recently I tried high tise jeans and voila !!!! Instantly i knew that this is what i needed for my body type…curvy people should always try high rise pants that directly fit on the smallest portion of ur waist…
I have these square toe clog boots that are big and intimidating like a bratz doll shoe 😂 but they are my out of comfort zone item that still really make me feel like me. I get more comfortable with them every time I wear them. I think soon I’ll be wearing them to the grocery store ✨😂
The last tip with the one daring item is an excellent tip, I like your channel so much cause you always tell us to step out of the comfort zone with our style so thanks for that! 😊
Hey Bethany!!! Can you make a video on innerwears? What kind of innerwears are appropriate for different outfits? In my opinion, the innerwears play a vital role on how a outfit fits the body. So, I would really appreciate you sharing some of your ideas on this matter. Love your contents. Always pleasing to the eyes ❤️
Following the Masterclass I know now precise what did hold me back. Everything in this class brings me to the core. I am in the second week now and I love it, it goes deep and is very eye opening. Forgive me for my English, I am Dutch. I am so looking forward to “heal” my wardrobe! Thank you Bethany!
I haven’t subscribed to a “guru” or “style/beauty UA-camr” for YEARS. By chance I stumbled upon your videos, and I am SO intrigued by your personality and content! I never thought I would finally find someone with such similar proportions to mine, (even where our torso extends beneath our waist is so alike 😂) And I LOVE the thought you put behind your style and what you put out. Though I have a slightly different style, I still learn lots from your videos and advice. Super thankful for you! (Hopefully this comment reaches you, finding your channel is quite a revelation for me!)
That was so helpful! I would add that a cozy cardigan that can be dressy or casual is a must for me, as well as some comfortable flats that can also do both ways!
I’ve recently lost weight and have been cleaning out my closet, continually! The one item I was really missing was my London Fog trench coat. I felt a hole in my closet. I bought a trench on Amazon Prime Day, then saw a London Fog there a few days later. They came in the same package, and although the Prime Day coat was nice, the London fog was twice as nice. My hole is filled!
My black turtleneck. It hugs me so nice, and has a beautiful stretchy quality. It always looks classy and even sophisticated :) It also washes incredibly well. ❤️
My esentials are neutral turtle necks for Winter, a printed short sleeve button up for summer, boot leg jeans and my pink bags. I got so much use out of my pink Cross body bags, i'm still amazed.
The one item I would add ( that you asked us for) is a large and basic tote in a caramel leather or black canvas or even a nice tough miracle fiber. Super handy for shopping, or a day out.
A black turtle neck and white sneakers are staples in my wardrobe as well! Still figuring out a daring piece- I suppose it's sunglasses at times. And even those I have a hard time feeling comfortable in
100% agree on the jeans. Once I found out where to buy petite and curvy fit jeans, I no longer waste time on jeans that don't fit me like a glove. If I'm in a rush, I know I can put them on and I will look fine and feel fine. Now, one thing I don't regret buying is a pair of black leather booties that have a small/medium chunky heel and comfort insoles. The climate where I live allows me to wear those booties throughout the year (even in summer, at night) and my lifestyle requires a lot of walking and taking public transportation. So I definitely invest in those and I wear them until they break apart.
A pair of RM Williams black boots in a style you like, they can be dressed up or down and if you care for the leather, they can be re-soled to last a life time. These are distinctly Australian but I’m sure there alternatives wherever you live.
There's a pair of shoes I wear almost everyday! My Nike Airmax sneakers in black with white detailing. Not sure if this counts as clothing, but this is one piece of item that I wear often, whether it's with a dress, jeans and a tee, or a jumpsuit. It is comfy and stylish and has served me well over the years. I will often switch it up with my pair of classic white low cut converse sneakers.
Thank you for this! I can't live without my favourite pair of jeans. I wear them so much that when I visited my mother, she said she was so sick of seeing me in them on social media that she bought me a different pair HAHA
I love Bethany even though her style is not at all my thing. But yeah “wardrobe essentials” are sooo different for everyone. I am fully on the “fuck jeans” train as of late. I get tired of how expensive they can get, how no pair seems to fully work for me. I know I could get things tailored but after buying so many, I’m just over it. Trousers and skirts for life!!! Haha And I have almost no use for a blazer in my life. But I would easily replace a blazer with a fabric Moto jacket. But Bethany gets it. She just wants us to dress how we feel our best
Amusingly, I would be lost without my Missoni bathrobe in the Winter (I have CFS/ME, and spend a LOT of time in pyjamas as a result). After 9 years, it’s finally wearing out, so probably time to invest in an update!
I get it. Comfortable clothes are necessary for the limited energy, symptomatic chronic illness life. I’m taking the masterclass and want to incorporate my style even though most days are resting.
Such a good list Bethany! I personally would swap a good t-shirt for a good tank top because I sweat a LOT and I hate having wet armpits or worrying about stains lol but as you said there's a lot of personal preference that plays into this list for sure.
Wearing a dress is daring for me to wear in the summer. In spring winter and fall, I wear dresses with boots. But in summer, I feel my figure looks overly matronly with a dress and sandals. I have not found a way to look more youthful in a dress and sandals.
Be back soon! I’ve been creating over 60 videos for the students in the course and found I just couldn’t make YT videos on top of it. Coming back next week :)
I had a white gold necklace with a pendant on it and I just removed the pendant and now I have a dainty chain that I wear everyday! its perfect. and if I ever want the pendant back on, I just add it the the chain again :)
Ohh I'm so happy for you that your masterclass is going so well with so many people joining! I feel like I know quite well what I like to wear and how to embody a certain mood yet this is still tempting me haha! A bit off topic but what kind of haircare do you use? I could not stop staring at how soft your hair looks. Much love from Belgium
oh thank you Luna! so happy for your success with style. as for hair, I use a scalp scrub in the shower, olaplex for shampoo and conditioner, and then I use kerastase elixer as a serum while styling :) also the kerastase night cream is amazing if you want to keep it super healthy
so helpful!! i’m realizing that i need to focus a bit more on securing some staples in my wardrobe :) although my everyday necklace is a delicate gold choker with a single small diamond that was passed down through my mom’s family☺️ i love pieces like that and i never take it off
Thank you for this. I have starter buying nicer quality staple pieces. I have been on the hunt for a nice blazer. I will take your ideas into consideration. Following your tips and guidelines has increased my fashion and has made me feel so much more confident in myself. I live in South Korea, so I stick out anyways. That made me shy and want to blend it, but no more!
I would love to see some videos where you take one piece and style it in multiple outfits. I love your style, but find I have a hard time keeping track of if I've seen pieces before or if everything is new to me
One good quality leather belt is a must in my closet and one-piece dresses are my go-tos even in winter. To be honest I have bought two trenches and I regreted both of them 😂 I am totally not a trench person. A motojacket is much suitable for me.
Thank you for all you have done. I have the same body type and similar aesthetic as well. You made me so confident with fashion. Always love your content and knowledge. ❤️
A versatile dress, ideally midi length, that can be easily dressed up or down
You've been releasing new content like crazy, and the quality is not suffering for it! Great video as always. Hope you're giving yourself some rest too 💗
Yeah please do take rest 🙏🏼
Musts for my wardrobe are definitely a biker jacket, a great pair of comfortable, pointy flats and a flowy dress that can take you from warm to cool weather. I think I'm possibly one of the only woman who doesn't own a trench or anything in linen (even blended with cotton I find it itchy). lol
Oh that are great pieces! 🤔🥰 and no, I think the same about linen.. ugh 😱😱
Totally agree about linen, looks like it has been slept in 1 minute after putting it on🌻
I mean the place you live in matters so there’s probably a ton of women who don’t have trench coats lol
@@NoName-dx1no lol, I live in Colorado. Lots of trench coats…just not on me 🤷🏻♀️ not that I don’t like them, just never bought one.
I don't own trench either, I think they haven't designed one for me yet 😄
I'm not a person that wears blazers or jeans 😶 I had them before and ended up decluttering them because I didn't wear them :-/ I think everyone has different essencial pieces :)
@@rosieposie1504 i like trousers made out of softer fabrics and skirts 😅
Agreed!! Everyone has different tastes. I like jeans but I wouldn't want my wardrobe just to have that.
Exactly my thoughts. I hate wearing jeans, don't like usual t-shirts, never put on blazer cuz I don't like them, so for me the essential peaces are various seasonal dresses, skrits, stockings and basic tops plus denim and leather jacket.

thank you so much for your kind words! so happy you are loving the course!
I think an everyday necklace it’s a must!
Hey, I'm actually looking for a new pair of glasses and sunglasses. Where did you find cool stuff that's prescription??
You’re posting so much and it’s all so great 🥰
Thanks Serena!

A white blouse. Always chic and goes with everything.

Yes! A pair of jeans that fit just right is a gem! This is so good, as per usual! 💕
Zac Brown Band was right about jeans all along! hehe :D
My one item would probably be a leather jacket.
I wanted one for a long time before getting my first one and i still wear it non-stop. It's very practical for my lifestyle even if not the best for summer days, but good for nights.
My go to outfit is black monochrome, preferably a well-cut sweatshirt/pants set and quality tank/tee that flatters my shape. Add comfortable sneakers.

I get it. Comfortable clothes are necessary for the limited energy, symptomatic chronic illness life. I’m taking the masterclass and want to incorporate my style even though most days are resting.
I remember those days when you teach some hair styling tutorial..

Such a good list Bethany! I personally would swap a good t-shirt for a good tank top because I sweat a LOT and I hate having wet armpits or worrying about stains lol but as you said there's a lot of personal preference that plays into this list for sure.
I'd add a great timeless bag should always be in a woman's closet.

One good quality leather belt is a must in my closet and one-piece dresses are my go-tos even in winter. To be honest I have bought two trenches and I regreted both of them 😂 I am totally not a trench person. A motojacket is much suitable for me.
What brand is the black jean you show early in this video? Can you start recommending the brands you wear and are good for petite women?
I’m a hat person. Been collecting mine for a couple of years. Next on my list is a signature fedora.
Thank you for all you have done. I have the same body type and similar aesthetic as well. You made me so confident with fashion. Always love your content and knowledge. ❤️
