Sad thing is the lead singer Ronni Van Zant said he would never see 30. He didn't have a scratch on his body, he hit his head on a tree branch. One of the survivers who was injured crawled from the crash to get help. They knew the plane was fucked, some of the band voiced their concerns but Robbie convinced them as it was going to be the time they actually used that specific plane. Ronnie's brother is now the lead singer of the band.

The lead singers name is Ronnie Van Zant. He’s the one wearing the Cowboy hat. Ronnie, guitarist Stevie Gaines and his sister Cassie Gaines one of the back-up singers, the road manager, the pilot and co-pilot all died in the plane crash on October, 20 1977. Subsequently to that day over the years other members have died. Guitarist, Gary Rossington is the only remaining original member still with the band. Ten years after the crash the band reformed with new members and Johnny Van Zant - Ronnie’s baby brother took over as lead vocalist. On May, 04, 2018 the current line-up began their Final Farewell tour. It was scheduled to end on October 24, 2020. But because of Covid-19, the tour will end on September 21, 2021. I’d love to see and hear y’all’s reaction to Free Bird, Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Back My Bullets.
