I'll just say this. On the Nintendo 64, there are three vastly superior options. Mario Party 1. Rough and unpolished, but fun with friends. Mario Party 2. One of the better N64 games. Mario Party 3. A masterclass in multiplayer game design.
Dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last days :)
12:34 If Reptar or one of the babies land side to side he throws everything he collected at the baby and a bonus is applied to the baby by either setting their zone values for items to 0 or kicking everyone out of their zone.
6:29 - I haven't played this game in years, so my memory may be a little bit rusty, but I believe the cookies also served as a sort of 'safety bumper' against Angelica, if you had one of her statue pieces. If you had cookies, she would steal those instead. But if you had none, and you had one of her pieces, she'd take that and be one step closer to winning.
N64 kids were probably kicking themselves. Like why couldn't they just port "Search For Reptar" to the N64? It doesn't seem like something that'd be THAT hard to port.
Eh, after this initial wave of Rugrats they start making games based on pretty much every Nicktoon. Yeah SpongeBob does have a lot of games, but it's been on the air for 20+ years. Nick have been pretty good at spreading the love around after this initial period, compared to Cartoon Network who were just milking Adventure Time only 5 or so years ago.
Because I saw TealGameMaster’s playthrough of the Angelica’s Temple board, I can confirm that Spike and Grandpa do the exact same things shown in the Treasure Hunt board
@@CartoonReviewYou think it'd be better if they had just ported "Search For Reptar" to the N64 instead? I mean that game doesn't seem like it'd be THAT hard to get working on the N64.
Two new phrases that will haunt Brandon for life: "Almost as good as womies" and "cookies". Add that to "we're back and front and back and front and back and front and back and front and back and front" and it might just be his worst nightmare lol
I was so young when I got this. Our Blockbuster was selling their n64 ganes for some reason. We arrived and I was faced with two games, robots shooting (starfox 64 unknowingly) and this game. I wanted the robots one but my parents told me no because it looked violent and I may not like it so they got me this game... Yeah I was so confused and bored even I told them we should've got the other game but it kinda grew on me. It's not a good game but eh I have some nostalgia from it
My little brother got this for Christmas one year. It was pretty dull, even when we were kids (I was 13 and he was 6), and it was definitely more fun with other people. I wonder if it's still around somewhere.
I loved this game when it came out. Can’t really say I loved it as a kid because I was 14 when it came out, lol. We never owned it but we definitely rented it multiple times. It may have been confusing at first back then, I’m not sure if it came with an instruction manual to explain the mechanics a bit, but we figured it out eventually. Even the strategy of staying away from Angelica unless you had over 20 cookies to keep her from stealing your stuff. I actually just bought this game on eBay like a month ago and it all came rushing back. I remembered a majority of it aside from a few details like the toy chest cards. What I’ve been doing lately in the mornings is just setting all of the characters at CPU and just letting the game play in the background like a screensaver as I get ready for work to see if they beat Angelica or who collects the pirate treasure first. I honestly don’t like the Reptar board. It’s a good idea in concept but I just don’t enjoy the execution of it. Although I do laugh every time Phil says “I can always use more Reptar Bars” The line delivery on that just cracks me up.
Jeezoo those models are genuinely dreadful it makes me appreciate the PS1 title so much more And the way the polys just disappear on the edges to render less on screen assuming everyone’s using a standard convex CRT is CRAZY I’ve never seen another game cull things out on the borders of the screen
Late but most, if not all games before HD was the norm did that because they weren't made with widescreen in mind, so forcing it via an emulator results on garbage data in the areas that weren't meant to be on-screen. That doesn't excuse the crappy models thought, but tbh, most N64 games look poor compared to many PS1 games, even first party stuff often looks crappy.
I played the hell out of those board games! Lost count how many times I played them tbh. I wanna play this game again but it sadly wasn't on PS1 and I no longer have an N64. So, I'll probably have to emulate it. I loved playing this game as a kid though.
While I have a soft spot for this game cuz I played it alot as a kid...yeah its not great tbh. Esp the Reptar one. Never liked that one. The treasure hunting one is high key broken cuz you can find all 4 treasures in one room and never need to leave where you spawn. And the Angelica's Temple one is fun with friends but ultimately skippable looking back. Also, that Rock Paper Scissors like game from treasure hunting is like a duel where you can steal from your opponent if yall land on the same space and you win, like a simplified MP duel
I remember renting this game 20years ago and I thought it was okay just because I got to play a new game because as a child I didn't have many video games.
I remember getting this game for Christmas all those years back. I was confused with it too. Bet if I try playing it again, I’ll hate it too. Though I would like to see some letsolayers try it, like say Game Grumps.
Will you review the games based on the Penguins of Madagascar tv show since it is an official nicktoon, and will you review the Legend of Korra game that had a digital only release on consoles
The penguins of Madagascar games will most likely be reviewed in a Dreamworks video game history. He’s reviewed digital only games in the past, so the Korra game will get its time in the spotlight.
@@jabmaster1000 Yeah the Penguins of Madagascar show is in a weird spot. I'll likely push that to a Dreamworks series, just because there's already so many Nickelodeon games
Heh heh... oh I hate this game. One of the three first games I got for my n64 along with Namco museum and Tony Hawk’s pro skater. I had no idea what this game was, I just knew I liked Rugrats and I knew the game was dirt cheap. Now I know I never want to play this game again.
I honestly can't say I have a proper opinion on it. I played the hell out of it as a kid but haven't revisited it since. I'm sure it's a bit of mess to play now, but back then I loved it.
Nope, I'm just sticking to regular Nickelodeon for the time being to make the series a bit more manageable. I'm sure I'll cover those games one day though!
Hey Brandon, I'm scared for you in Nickelodeon Party Blast because wanna what they made? They made Action Girlz Racing, Ninjabread Man and Billy the Wizard which and like 20 more shovelware wii titles?

Man seeing you go from Ren and Stimpy, to a bunch of Rugrats, to inevitably Spongebob really makes me realize how hard Nick would ride a single IP.

I remember getting this game, playing it, and desperately telling myself that I was having fun. A big mess.
We, as kids, may have been easier to entertain than adults, but we still knew a thing or two about quality.
I think we've all been in a situation at least once where we've tried to convince ourselves we were having fun with a game lmaooo
