The hardest part is, when you know every single thing that hurts because you experienced it and you know youre not perfect and everything you do turns out to be bad for someone else and this hurts you also and it sometimes ends up that you feel ashamed of yourself, you cant hurt nobody, but thats what we made of, doing mistakes and try to correct them but hurting the feeling of others still hurts though.

This song was one of my fav when i was around 7. Back then I hardly speak English so wasn't really understanding what the lyrics about. Years later I decided to listen it again, Passenger made a good point about how most ppl understands someone's value after they lose them.

This song became popular in the US a couple of weeks after my little sister was put up for adoption. My mom put her up for adoption because she has classic autism and the state we lived in at the time isn't really known for having care available for autistic kids. I know how she's doing, she's alive and well and even started smiling more in the last few months, but she lives very very far from where we live (same country, very different state). When she first hopped on the plane to (X state because I'm not going to give it away), I thought I would never find out anything about my sister's life from that point forward, but it turned out that our biological mother and her adoptive mother got very close over the past 8 years.
Anyways, I know this song is a breakup song, but some of the words bring back the emotions I felt when it first came out. For reference, I was only 8, and my sister was 6. My whole childhood up until that point was spent with a lack of understanding towards my sister, and even some resentment towards her. Once she moved away I realized how much of a treasure it was to have her in my life. Most of you probably won't see this, but if you did, thank you for reading this far.
