Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are bored like me atm you can stream all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf recently :)
Great structure w/ good examples. Very adaptable to any industry. Only thing I'd add is at the end, after you present some solutions/answers, to prioritize them according to a grading system, highlight tradeoffs and risks, and justify your final recommendations.
The content is great, but the rapid fire editing is brutal. Really hard to watch 3 videos in a row where two word phrases have an edit between them. Please make these better.
Thanks for the feedback! This one was made about 50 videos ago so would love to hear your thoughts on how the more recent content sounds like! Thanks in advance - it will really help me improve the quality of these videos! 🙏
Hi Alex - this is a truly great video with invaluable recommendations. Wondering if you can create a video on how to tackle execution/metrics style questions such as "how can you evaluate success of the UA-cam comment feature?"
Great video Alex! Your advice is really insightful. I do feel that something that could help make this video stronger would be to walk us through complete, concrete examples. This video was a little high level, and the elements you mentioned for answering these types of questions are great. I do think a little more structure and a step by step approach could be really beneficial
Thanks for another great video Alex. in your video you say keep it brief since its 5 to 7 minutes? - Isn't a product strategy interview usually 30-45 minutes?
Thanks Ashwin! Setting up the basic framework should be done quicker, so you have more time for brainstorming. But of course you can adjust all this, based on how much time you have. Try to ask how much time you should take for the big questions!
Hi Alex , Recently I went to my first interview for PM role and in 3rd round they have mailed a scenario as a home assignment and create below artifacts : 1. Create and present product requirement for the scenario. 2. Create a presentation for sales team. Can you give your input on what key points interviewer are looking while evaluation and also what should be our strategy to solve these questions. Thanks !
Pallavi Rajput good question! Product requirements should generally describe the problem, talk about the proposed solutions and other alternatives considered, and then describe the actual product in as much detail as is available (or requested). As far as the presentation to the sales team is concerned, focus on them as the key users in order to get sales to buy in: what is this product, why is it important to their client, what will it help them do, how does it fit into with the other competing priorities they may have at any one time, and what will be expected of them.
And a question i want to ask. As different levels of PMs, I mean they maybe 3 years or maybe fresh, there's different depth of experience of them, so in such interviews is there any distinctive requirements? ..even though the answering logic is same. thanks a lot!
大可有必要 nuances definitely start to emerge as a candidate amasses real world experience. I think you should always try to stick to a basic structure, and layer on the details as your experience allows you to do so. Thank you!
This video is underrated. Best concise and practical tip I've seen on product strategy for PM interviews. I hope I could smash the like button 50 times!
Great video! I like the structure, and 5C use. I'd potentially add some of Porter's 5 forces in the climate & competition analysis, and skip collaborators
Awesome methodology! A proper thinking path or structure not only helps opinions make sense but also give who answers a great confidence! thanks a lot!
Hey Alex! Great content. I gained crucial insights in this topic. Would be great if you could also recommend few PM books in the market. The best of the lot. Which one would you go for? Thanks in advance! :)
Thank you very much! I would recommend “Inspired”, as well as the classic “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Covey and “Crucial Conversations” for a broad PM curriculum! 🙌
Alex this is absoultely gold
Thank you so much, Alkhatib!! 🙏
This is gold man thx - really nails it - I did my Google interview last week and this helped tons

Jeff G. that’s a great point! That would be a spectacular finish 😄🙌
Excellent explanation! Love the 5C concept
Thank you Rammesh!

Great video.
Hi Alex, great video! Quick question, how do you stay up to date on tech news?
Stratechery (Ben Thompson) is a good source of tech business analysis, and read news about business, tech and investing in general
Thank you! I needed order into my strategy framework and did an exercise into strategy and helped me a lot!
Glad to hear it! Thank you for watching!
