      YES! Carnivore has changed my adult son's life for the better. He is calmer, much more communicative.
      He has finally been toilet trained, something I didn't think could happen this late in life, AND he is able to sleep at night for the most part as compared to staying up for days.
      We switched his foods and drinks one thing at a time. I learned how to make fat bombs we traded for sweets. I learned how to make homemade meat nuggets, chicken and beef "breaded" with pork rinds and Parmesan. He does eat sugar free ketchup. So still a few carbs. He is now even willing to taste new foods, which never happened on the SAD. HUGE improvement. Yes it's difficult at first. Yes, he threw tantrums when he couldn't get his normal sweets and soda. But eventually he began to eat the new foods and he now asks for it.
      It's worth it!

    You know what helps with the social aspect of it? Just don't make a big deal of it. Sit down at the restaurant and just order or eat the protein. Most people will barely notice. I do this and only once or twice did anyone even say, you don't eat this or that? But if you make some big announcement you make yourself an outcast by your own announcement. Just do it. Don't announce it unless you have to eat at someone's house, then you have to fess up! OR, invite them to eat at your house. Works perfect.

      @@prunelle19 Yea, I know. Sometimes I just make up something like I'm having an allergy issue at the moment and...blah blah. People's feelings don't get hurt with "temporary" things. If you say "I don't eat...." then it's an issue because some-how, wrongly they assume there is judgement there of their choice to eat things you do not. Allergy solves this. Little white lie but effective.

    What helped me in ketosis:
    - weight loss
    - mixed IBS - a miserable, painful condition
    - gastritis - also quite painful
    - joint pain, joint pain, joint pain - I was seeing a pain specialist for 20 years
    - gas and bloating - no more simethicone for me!
    - migraine
    - mood - that low grade dysthymia of a cloud over my head is gone
    - seborrheic keratoses have just... disappeared. I used to get them frozen from my trunk
    - seborrheic pilaris - those little, hard bumps on the upper arms are just GONE
    I'm 70 and I feel so much better than I have in decades as a low fat, whole food vegetarian. I'm grateful that we are learning about this path to healing - and to Dr. Hampton for making these videos. Our worldwide obesity/diabetes crisis is causing immeasurable harm to EVERY aspect of human living. Every aspect. Not just health, vitality, lifespan, etc. but economic harm, burdening the healthcare system. And far too many in power are connected with the processed food industry. Looking back to when I started carnivore 6/23 I have added, deleted and morphed my approach and habits in eating. I continue to make strides. Weight loss was NOT my goal. It happened thou. In fact too much. I had to add in more fats and push in different ways. I do have stage 4, so I do face some different medical conditions. One take away is each individual should listen to their bodies and strive to keep themselves on track for YOU. We all can be different. And still overlap in other areas. Astounding drop in triglycerides and fasting insulin...no change in fasting glucose ( I have been zero carb for over a month). Most astounding change...my eGFR (kidney function marker) increased dramatically. Oh...and my TPO went down considerably...though still not normal. You can keep going indefinitely! If you go back to eating what you used to eat before, you'll just go back to how you felt before. I've been just over seven months on an almost zero-carb way of eating and I feel just fine. We've always been told about the vitamins and minerals found in veg and fruit but we were never told about the various toxins they contain. Very underhanded, I think. Anyway, there's nothing in plants that there isn't in meat and eggs and a tiny bit of liver every now and then. I've reached and maintained a respectable weight without ever feeling hungry.

    Why does Peter Atilla continent suggest we should reduce saturated fat consumption thereby lowering ApoB and reducing risk for atherosclerosis?

    • @DrTonyHampton
      @DrTonyHampton  4 дні тому +11

      Peter Attia focuses on lowering ApoB because ApoB-containing lipoproteins contribute to atherosclerosis. Since saturated fat can raise LDL (and ApoB) in some, he suggests reducing it to lower cardiovascular risk.
      From a low-carb perspective, ApoB alone doesn’t tell the whole story. Metabolic health, inflammation, insulin resistance, and endothelial function play a bigger role in heart disease than LDL alone. For some, reducing saturated fat may help, but for metabolically healthy individuals, it’s less of a concern.
      The key is individualized risk assessment-not a one-size-fits-all approach. 🚀🔥

      Congrats on two years of low-carb! 🎉 Constipation is common, but you don’t necessarily need veggies to fix it. Try:
      ✅ Increase fat intake - Helps lubricate digestion (tallow, butter, fatty meats).
      ✅ Magnesium citrate or glycinate (400mg/day) - Great for regularity.
      ✅ Hydration & electrolytes - Ensure enough sodium & potassium to avoid dehydration.
      ✅ Digestive enzymes or ox bile - If fat digestion is sluggish.
      ✅ Movement - Regular activity helps bowel motility.
      If veggies help, no problem, but tweaking these should make carnivore work without them! Let me know how it goes. 💪🔥

      Congrats on two years of low-carb! 🎉 Constipation can happen as your body adapts, but you don’t necessarily need veggies to fix it. Try these:
      ✅ Increase Fat Intake - More butter, tallow, or fatty cuts of meat can help digestion.
      ✅ Magnesium (Citrate or Glycinate, 400mg) - A common low-carb deficiency that helps with regularity.
      ✅ Hydration & Electrolytes - Low-carb eating increases water loss, so ensure enough sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
      ✅ Digestive Enzymes or Ox Bile - If fat digestion is sluggish, this can help.
      ✅ Move More - Light activity can stimulate bowel function.

      Switch to carnivore, and only eat when hungry and stop when comfortably stuffed. Make sure to eat plenty of fatty red meat and eggs because it's the fat which will make you feel satiated and not want to have cravings between meals. I've been carnivore for 1.5 years, I have 2 large meals each day and never snack. It works!

      Try switching to zero carbs, the carbs you consume with keto are triggering your carb addiction, try for 30 days at least

    Hey dr i started carnivore three weeks ago and i love it but im getting really bad kidney pain burning pain 😢 i am taking plenty of electrolytes drinking water even taking boron what else can i do? And im also getting muscle cramps

    • @DrTonyHampton
      @DrTonyHampton  4 дні тому +3

      Glad you're loving carnivore, but sorry about the kidney pain and cramps. A few things to check:
      🔹 Kidney Pain: Could be oxalate dumping, too much protein, or an electrolyte imbalance. Try increasing fat intake (70-80%), balancing sodium & potassium, and staying hydrated without overdoing water.
      🔹 Muscle Cramps: Likely magnesium or potassium deficiency-consider 400mg magnesium glycinate and potassium from meat or potassium citrate.
      Your body may just need time to adjust! Try tweaking these and let me know how you feel.

      It depends where the individual came from. They may have been eating more processed food so if going to fruit and eliminating processed food then they will heal.
      Go with low carb, high fat and protein. It’s much more sustainable than vegan. So many testimonies.

    I am sorry to say that no carbs or even very low carbs does not work for those of us with adrenal issues and thyroid issues. I end up freezing cold and very low body temperature. like 95 degrees, which is very dangerous and nothing works metabolically if you are hypothermic. without carbs, my body makes way too much cortisol and my body goes into a panic mode. very bad. I take hrt and thyroid medication. Carbs, especially sugar, lowers cortisol. I have to eat carbs otherwise I lose all my electrolytes, despite taking RX potassium and extra salt. you have to be in good health to be able to do no carbs/keto. I cannot do it. instead, I avoid processed foods and get 30 grams or so of carbs from veggies and fruits at meals 2 or 3 times a day. This is not for everybody. stop pushing it. it can be quite dangerous.

    Going no carb will cause you insulin receptors to go on vacation resulting in insulin resistance sooner or later. While keto may be good initially, eventually you will end up with a stressed out body that is constantly making glucose from your liver. This stress will also lead to hormonal issues and low testosterone. Carbs are optimal otherwise your liver wouldn’t produce glucose. Might as well eat carbs that are the healthy ones

    • @DrTonyHampton
      @DrTonyHampton  4 дні тому +23

      This is a common misconception. Physiological insulin resistance (adaptive glucose sparing) on a very low-carb diet is not the same as pathological insulin resistance seen in metabolic disease. The body prioritizes fat for fuel, sparing glucose for essential functions, but insulin sensitivity remains intact.
      A well-formulated low-carb or carnivore diet doesn’t stress the body-it reduces inflammation, stabilizes blood sugar, and improves metabolic markers. The liver produces glucose (gluconeogenesis) as needed, not due to stress but as a normal function.
      If carbs were "essential," we’d have a dietary requirement for them-but we don’t. Some may tolerate carbs well, but for those with insulin resistance, limiting them is often the best path to metabolic health. 🚀🔥
