Shout out to Shane for creating his own outlet and putting on kids who would otherwise be stuck in the "flow team" trap and not get the recognition they deserve. Too common in skateboarding
You're right. I remember Tom Asta was in that flow spot for what seemed like a decade. Lot of guys have been flow for years and years. Some guys are hyped about it, but others are trying to do it big and they won't let it happen.

Baylen Miller Berra and koston are unfortunately both scientologists. Berra being an extremely weird, sorta psycho example of one. Message berra on IG about it, he’ll actually debate you on the legitimacy of that bat shit crazy cult. Koston is much more quiet about his involvement.

Shane isn’t just a skateboarder or a businessman. He’s an advocate.
Skateboarding today is like universities. Everyone’s smart, everyone has a 4.0, what else you got? Better have a cool story, cool style, and awesome character.
April is the first board I’ve ever picked up. Started skating at 26 and my buddy told me the significance of this brand and it’s only made it that much more special to me.
This is the evolution of the skateboard industry. Shane O'Neill helping the skateboard industry to be at great standard. Helping each other is the way to go.
I have so much respect for this guy. Not only he rips but he looks out for others and takes care of them.

Shane has been in a decent number of interviews over the years. After searching “Shane O’Neill Interview” on UA-cam I found interviews for RIDE Channel, CCS, Route One (U.K. skate shop), Crailtap, and a few others. The search took less than 30 seconds.

You guys gotta get Josiah Gatlyn on the podcast. Dude was absolutely insane on a skateboard and ultimately had to step away because the industry did him dirty. Very interesting story and would be a super solid guest

Shane is so straight forward, no bs with him.
So much respect for Shane. It feels like companies have been shifting towards putting on lesser-known guys who rip, and Shane is at the forefront of that movement. Also, it would be easy for someone in Shane's position to be a huge skate jock, but I've never gotten that sense at all from him. To me it also says a lot that he often goes out of his way to personally reply to all the comments on his instagram, instead of just liking them all, which is completely meaningless.
This dude is so chill. I met him at a Starbucks I was working at. I was working drive thru, looked over to cafe and there he was ordering coffee. He looks a lot slimmer in person haha but I was so schocked I left my drive thru position just to say hi to him, sadly couldn’t get a picture it was so busy ;/
If I believe anyone to start a board company to help out certain skaters, to promote them, and giving them an opportunity, instead of "just making some extra money" (maybe even by ripping them of and sht...) - it is Shane O'Neill...

I have an April 8.12 and 8.5 and they're both great boards. April is one of the few companies these days making shapes that I actually like.
Shane O'Neil you are the Dali Lama of skateboarding. Observation, Execution, Experience, Opertunity, love and after watching this i now know why you have the style and flow you do when you skate... @thenineclub what do you guys think of highlighting certain topics within the same podcast???, almost like timestamping chapters, except you'd be marking major topics of interest, I think that would help grow the channel by having skaters who want to watch certain topics but not necessarily the whole podcast, could lead to people watching different shows they might not have originally watched.

i wouldnt be surprised with suddenly some skater started to clip his own instagram shots and post montages on youtube with the same tricks over and over again on several different channels, those videos with royaltie free songs "best of 20xx instagram" are getting lots of views
Companies should be uploading their skaters videos to their platforms and not leave them in the dark to gain a following on the jungle of social media themselves where an unsponsored skaters kickflip flat ground can go viral to millions and a shredders kickflip back lip on a ten stair get 50 views.
