Hey guys! I’ve got another easy triangle pattern for you today that just uses square knots. To create this tutorial I cut 12 pieces of string, each piece is roughly 2 meters in length. Fold each piece in half and attach to your dowel using Lark's Head knots.
Let’s get started. Working on the left, tie 3 square knots. Tie 2 square knots underneath and in between the square knots in the first row.
Tie one more square knot underneath and in between the square knots in the second row.
Tie 4 square knots underneath and in between the square knots in the first row.
Repeat the same process on the right side of your work.
Repeat the same process in the middle of your work.
You have now created the pattern. Repeat this pattern to create a wall hanging of your desired length.
We will create a “V’ shape so for your third row tie 3 square knots underneath and in between the second row.
Tie 2 square knots underneath and in between the third row.
Tie one more square knot underneath the forth row and in the middle of your work.
You now have the option to continue this pattern or reverse it. I will show you how to reverse it.
We will now tie our knots in reverse starting with 2 square knots and ending with 5 square knots.

Me encanta!!!!! Mil gracias!!!!!

Your tutorials are so good, so clear. Thank you for sharing. 💕
Love your videos. I am inspired to do a window valance for my laundry room. 5 ft wide. Any suggestions to help me come up with the design and amount of cord needed? Thanks
Sheila Corneillie It depends on what sort of design you are planning! A more complex design with more knots will require more rope. A general guideline - cut your rope 4-8x the length of the finished wall hanging. For example, if you would like your finished wall hanging to be 1m in length cut your rope 4-8m in length and then use Lark’s Head knots to attach (one strand then becomes two strands that are 2-4m in length)
Let me know if you have any specific questions!
LotsofKnots Canada thank you. I have to determine a pattern to decide. Your knot videos are quite inspiring. But your estimate for measurement to start will help me to play first. First to get supplies. Thanks again
very good and nicely explained
Que hermoso !!!
Lindo demais. Tão delicado 😍🌿⚘🌿
Oh!!! This looks so beautiful... can you help me ? I wold like to do this but whit color a transition of blue ... how I need to arrange the colors?
I would like to make a kitchen curtain with this. What mm cord would you suggest? I'm thinking about using about 1/2 inch dowel? Or would 1/4 th be better?
Bello es sencillo pero delicado
What were the length of your strands?
Your work is sooo wonderful! Can you tell, how long were the pieces, you cuttet? :)
Alena Beutler thank you!! I cut my cord 2 meters in length which then I folded in half and attached to my work using Lark’s Head knots so when attached each strand was 1 meter in length!
LotsofKnots Canada what would be the final length if the length to begin with is 1 metre long? I’m a beginner and love to learn to make this design for my doorway 😊💜
Here is my recommendation when it comes to cutting your cords:
A more complex design with more knots will require more rope and a simple design requires less. A general guideline that I use - cut your rope 4-8x the length of your finished product. For example, if you would like your finished product to be 1m in length, cut your rope 4-8m in length and then use Lark’s Head knots to attach (one strand then becomes two strands that are 2-4m in length).

Hi
I am very new to macrame-I need a winter DIY and I remember doing macrame years ago
Do you have a video how to start macrame and how to do the various knots?
Please let me know and thanks
Love this; it would be helpful to know how long your cord is as well as what kind. Thanks!
Susan McAtee the materials used and all other details are always listed in the description!

Could you do this wall hanging using 2 colours?
Soy nueva haciendo macrame y me gustó mucho tu trabajo.
Gracias
😍😍😍😍
What are the lengths of your cords?
I just love this! Beautiful.
I have never attempted macrame before but stumbled across a macrame curtain on Etsy. Now I want to make this. Thank you SO much for your tutorial. Is there a guide to show how long each piece of rope should be to end up with the desired length?
Peace Out Art No problem! :) It’s quite tricky to give specific instructions for cutting your cords because every design is different but here is my recommendation that works for most pieces:
A more complex design with more knots will require more rope and a simple design requires less. A general guideline that I use - cut your rope 4-10x the length of your finished product. For example, if you would like your finished product to be 1m in length, cut your rope 4-10m in length and then use Lark’s Head knots to attach (one strand then becomes two strands that are 2-5m in length).
I always cut more rope than I think I need just to be safe! If I have leftovers I just use them for feathers, keychains, etc. Hope this helps! :)
If you want to recreate this but bigger, make sure you leave 2 strings out of both sides and to start with an even number. 2 (4, 4, 4) 2. Each row one 4 is eliminated. 2 (4, 4) 2 and the next row 2 (4) 2. The last row is a knot with the 4 remaining strands

What is the size of width you get with this pattern?

I wish I can do this😔
Nice but I see only what kind of cords and not the size that we have to cut them. Thanks
Hi there, these cords were cut approx. 2 meters in length and then folded in half and attached to the dowel using Lark's Head knots.
