I didn't like all of their songs the first time I heard them (didn't hate them or anything, was neutral) But now I listen to a lot of their songs that I didn't use to listen to, such as cotton fields, born on the bayou, lodi, suzie q, someday never comes and many more......I didn't realise that I know the words to a lot of these other songs until last week at work when I put them on and was just boppin and singing away. :D
its a great song, and his voice is just so great, CCR are classic , so many great songs, I like Long as I Can See the Light you have done some others that I love
I remember going to a fund raising event in the 70's and the DJ played this song and even the elderly people were on the dance floor "shakin their thang"
My mom grew up listening to these guys and I listen to them myself. A couple good ones that I'm sure you've listened to yet are........fortunate son and have you ever seen the rain. Two good ones.
That movie was the reason why I loved this song so much and this song is the reason why I loved that movie so much😂 plus it’s a great werewolf film and this song is just as great. First saw the movie when I was 4 years old (scared the shit outta me) and have been listening to the song since I was a baby. Thanks to my dad.
CCRs cover of I Put A Spell On You is EPIC!!! You need to listen to the live vid, filmed at Woodstock. Also, Born on the Bayou, Green River, Down On the Corner, Cotton Fields (another cover), Ramble Tamble. Their cover of Midnight Special is wonderful too. Can't go wrong with CCR!! John Fogerty wrote their songs. He is a legend!
I put a spell on you is CCR at their best in my opinion. They have many hits, so there are many songs to choose from, but I put a spell on you is in the top 3 to 5 with most CCR fans.
Bad Moon rising is a reference to being "in country" (S.Vietnam) on patrol at night. the soldiers didn't like to be in the jungle with a full moon as it created too much light. John Fogerty was in the Army
Love CCR songs! Saw John Fogerty in concert and it was one of the best concerts I have been to. He played with his son too. He and his kids are very talented.
“I Put a Spell on You” is one of my favorite songs. Originally written and performed by the wild & fun ‘Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in 1958 - I saw him perform his African witch doctor show in the late 1980s - terrific performance. Many artists have done covers of his song - I love Nina Simone’s 1965 version, which is sultry and soulful. A 9 year-old Angelina Jordan will blow your socks off with her passionate 2016 performance - she channeled Screamin’ Jay Hawkins voodoo style - even had his face on the candle she lit, in the video before she began singing. As much as I love all the above mentioned artists and their versions of this great song - my favorite, hands-down, is CCR’s 1968 bluesy rock cover. Hope you react to it (and the other mentioned renditions). Maybe do a day dedicated to that song? All versions are on my Halloween play list. Anyway, here’s the link - Enjoy!! ua-cam.com/video/xeXqtzusIU0/v-deo.html
I feel like this song speaks more of today than it did way back when it came out.... but each era has its own issues. But, yes, so catchy and you can't NOT move to it. They are epic Americana!
Love the rabbit hole! Love your enthusiasm too for their music. You should try next "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" thats another great song. Have a nice day ahead!
🎸💯 "Bad Moon Rising" is my fave CCR jam‼🔥 It's just not long enough! John Fogerty has always been a one-of-a-kind vocalist! It makes me very happy to see/hear how much y'all love & appreciate this music! ☮ ❤ 🎶
In the 80s I worked in a greenhouse, we always had the oldies station on, we used to sing along but the chorus was "There's a bathroom on the right" cuz that's where our bathroom was located.. It was funny, maybe you had to be there.... Lol
@@junglejim5785 😂😂😂 I was about 7 when I saw it and I'd never seen any kind of horror film before that. I didn't sleep for about 2 months! The bit on the London Underground was especially scary because we used it all the time to go and see my dad at work. Bleugh!
@@bethcushway458 I can understand. The movie had both funny and serious parts in it. And I can surely understand if I lived there and was a kid it most likely would have scared me as well. I was in my early 20's And my brother was in his early teens. And we laughed our heads off except for the serious parts. I think we went quiet during those parts. Take care Beth.
I was in highschool when this was released. A bunch of the kids at first thought that instead of saying "there's a bad moon rising" he was saying "there's a bathroom on the right". 🤣🤣🤣 There were many arguments over what the lyrics were. The bathroom bunch were convinced the meaning of that line was go hide in the bathroom. 🤣🤣🤣 The rest of us got tired of the argument quickly and just enjoyed the song.
I will always remember this song from American Werewolf In London, I remember watching that movie when I was 7 or 8, back then it took forever for movie to come out on TV.
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, "There are no bad songs from CCR!" If you haven't done it yet, hopefully you'll get to "Up Around The Bend" or "Green River" or perhaps, "Run Through The Jungle". Creedence Clearwater Revival are absolute golden icons, just pick a song, sit back and enjoy.
So many CCR songs to choose from. They have a catalogue that's wide and deep, and to think they were only around from 1967 - 1972, 5 years! If you want a deep cut, I'd suggest "Penthouse Pauper" one of the only true blues tunes John Fogerty wrote. But hey, they're all good!
As Creedence, yes. but don't forget they started in Junior High. They worked the rear ends off for years before becoming famous. That's why they were tighter than a fishes ass.
Such a classic tune. If you haven't seen the movie, "American Werewolf in London" I recommend it highly. This song is featured in one of the movie's most iconic scenes. I don't know what all you've reacted to already, but one I don't see often on these reaction channels: "Up Around the Bend." Also, "Down on the Corner," "Lookin' Out My Back Door."
Seems to me you guys know all you need to bout Ccr. I can tell by how much you like them. Got this one for myself on a (45) bk in ‘69. For my b-day-…13 yrs old then. Still great. ccr 50 yrs ltr standing the test of time. John fogerty and his talents.. 👍 dan-6/12/22
The leader, John Foggerty, went on in the 80's to do an albulm called Centerfield. The song CCENTERFIELD was a hit. It also had a silly little song called VANCE CANT DANCE which is one of my favorites.
A fantastic CCR song that is also not very well known is Commotion- you should react to that. Great song. Great grove, but definitely one of their lesser known songs
CCR is my favorite band. Some suggestions: Up Around the Bend Down on the Corner Who'll Stop the Rain Proud Mary Born on the Bayou Lodi Traveling Band Run Through the Jungle Hey Tonight Night Time is the Right Time Someday Never Comes
Listen to "No Favorite Son" is still my favorite it was a Vietnam protest song. Please give a listen! I listened to all their music, love it in my 70's. I lost classmates in that war.
Anyone recall who did the joke about misunderstood song lyrics? "There's a bathroom on the right?" I can't help but hear that every time this song plays.
CCR is the only band that can sing about hell on earth but still make you feel upbeat about it
Idk about upbeat emotionally. Definitely a classic song...does give a eerie vibe when you listen to the words
can't help to think of that movie "American Werewolf in London" everytime I hear this song.......
Same.
And Blue Moon. Great 🎥
Same here. I saw that movie as a child and it stuck with me. 🐺
CCR NEVER made a bad song. This band is awesome and amazing. Great choice guys! 🌺✌️
They did, the final album was a hot mess

I'll never forget when my kiddos were young they thought they sang there's a bathroom on the right. Makes me laugh each time i hear this song.
John Fogherty was sooo blessed with a captivating voice!
its a great song, and his voice is just so great, CCR are classic , so many great songs, I like Long as I Can See the Light you have done some others that I love
Yes, Long as I Can See the Light is one of my all time favorites
CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL -- Proud Mary
I remember going to a fund raising event in the 70's and the DJ played this song and even the elderly people were on the dance floor "shakin their thang"
