Dream of Congestion Charging is Dead

Yesterday I found a couple of moments of 1968 transportation footage. Today I heard the word 'paradox' and remembered an old song called Paradox City. Turns out this little known psychedelic rock song was also made in 1968, by a Long Island band called Bohemian Vendetta. While putting this short together it was announced that MTAs Congestion Charging plan was put on hold indefinitely by Governor Hochul three weeks before it was to be implemented. We are gravely disappointed but we also do not have to bear the pressure she must be under. So enjoy a moment in 1968 New York as we mourn the stillbirth of a dream for a better city, incubating for at least 50 years. Our paradox is that as a supposed progressive, world leading city we are unable to sort our transport problems. Nelson Rockefeller and William J. Ronan and John Vliet Lindsay would be very un-amused by this turn of events.
