Wait, that can't be right. He calls Gomez his favorite nephew, so he must be Gomez's uncle, right? Or is this a list of American family tree lingers, which I still do not understand, like; cousins three times removed?
The irony of this storyline, like so many Addams storylines, is that if the interloper into the Addams house just *asked* for a loan, say, or a favour- it'd be granted! The Addams are totally generous, kind, good-natured, and yet people always try to get one over on them (and of course, the Addams always unwittingly come out on top!)
Yep. The Addamses are the furthest thing from stingy. And they're fabulously loaded. In the movie we got to see the money vault below the house with near-infinite stacks of gold. "Hey Gomez, can I please borrow like a million dollars? I promise to pay you back, unless I turn evil and keep it for myself or use it to build an elaborate trap for my enemies." "Why certainly. Do you think a million is enough?" "I think so. Why do you ask?" "I don't know how many enemies you have." "You're right Gomez. Better make it 3 million."
Even though it's all a misunderstanding, you have to admire Gomez and Morticia for handling their relationship issues more maturely than couples of today do.

Grandmama comes by her real name legitimately. Blossom was one of her middle names and she was married to Clarence Rock. Also her younger sister was Jeannette McDonald, a singer and actress from way back. I really tried to get my grandkids to call me Grandmama, but not one of them would! 😐
Lurch was the only one in the cast that had duel roles on each episode as he also did "thing" unless the scene called for both him and thing to be seen at the same time and in that case a stagehand would do the scene as "thing"
There are several details like this. There is a scene where Gomez is playing wth his trains and Morticia just gives him the sweetest look and smile without him noticing, she looks so happy to see him happy... You can see John and Carolyn were really attracted to each other
When I was little, I was always so confused by the title of this episode because I didn’t know what the term “green-eyed” meant and I didn’t understand why it even mattered what color Gomez’s eyes were.
Ever since i watched both Addams Family movies from 1991-1993, I've been obsessed. Now i watch these episodes every day on binge. This is the first time so far I've seen a character cry execpt for Wednesday's crying tantrum when the dragon died in that fairy tail.
It was definitely a different time; TV standards and practices allowed for a few things that would not be acceptable for family programming nowadays, such as talk of, or actually depicting, attempted suicide. Still, just as with all of this series, it was comically handled, and classic!
I don't blame Gomez for worrying about somebody taking Morticia from him she's incredibly beautiful and fun loving what's not to love.

I need a Gomez in my life. He has everything a man should have 😘❤
Ok, the actress who played Grandmama in this was named Blossom Rock which is, and this is true, one of the greatest names ever. I'm surprised this isn't talked about more.
Grandmama comes by her real name legitimately. Blossom was one of her middle names and she was married to Clarence Rock. Also her younger sister was Jeannette McDonald, a singer and actress from way back.
I really tried to get my grandkids to call me Grandmama, but not one of them would! 😐
Actually she was born Edith Marie Blossom MacDonald.
And you can find her in plenty of old movies, including the old Dr. Kildare series with Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore.
❤️Call me a Romantic❣️A child of 60’s I grew up thinking men were like Gomez; unfortunately, as a woman, it was a sad awakening😒. Only in fiction 🤩
Stop calling me out-
Feminism gave men no reason to be gentlemen and it's only gotten worse.
Yeah , I know how you feel , when I was a kid I thought women were like Morticia ...... silly me , reality strikes .
5:52 "Who's Lineal?"
I rolled my eyes alongside Gomez
Morticia is beautiful!
She is !!!!
The actress is named carolyn jones incase you want to know
IKR
@@hayleyzefox610 I know
Omg-
THIS IS THE MOST LIKES I'VE EVER GOT,
TYSM!!!!!!!!!
Good old Lurch. A true romantic.
Lurch was the only one in the cast that had duel roles on each episode as he also did "thing" unless the scene called for both him and thing to be seen at the same time and in that case a stagehand would do the scene as "thing"
i love how as soon as Gomez says he lost his appetite, Morticia feels his head to see if hes sick it's so cute
There are several details like this. There is a scene where Gomez is playing wth his trains and Morticia just gives him the sweetest look and smile without him noticing, she looks so happy to see him happy...
You can see John and Carolyn were really attracted to each other
@@KRN02_92 don't make me cry today please....
Still a better love story than Twilight
Thing and Uncle Fester is a better love story than Twilight!
Twilight had a story line?
That's not hard.. almost every relationship is better than Twilights
@@sarahroosendans935 Almost?
@@Nick_C1997 well yeah.. if you marry a serial killer in real life it's worse
I want what Gomez and morticia have. The innocent love they have for each other is very rare and sweet.
Love this episode
Thing does better acting than so many actors of this generation
17:13-17:19 I don’t think I’ve EVER heard a sitcom say the word “suicide” before. But I’m glad Gomez thinks it’s not a good idea
It was definitely a different time; TV standards and practices allowed for a few things that would not be acceptable for family programming nowadays, such as talk of, or actually depicting, attempted suicide. Still, just as with all of this series, it was comically handled, and classic!
Randi Lacey - Were there things back then that wasn’t allowed to be on TV or even mentioned, but is now allowed in modern days?
Trey Stephens - Lucy? Like Lucille Ball?
"Somebody down there likes me." Well that certainly was different.
So Gomez is of the Cult? I wonder which one he subscribes to?
@@hackman669 hopefully not scientology
This episode actually gives some good development on the relationship of Gomez and Morticia.
Or not.
What?
@@Blackkey034 Which part was "What?" to you?
im so glad i can watch something that has full Ep on there whole channel
lurch was a great man musician actor there will never be one like him
The cast of Addams family was so good it's a shame nobody of them had another successful show.
