    Interested to learn more about that Anvil pump and, more specifically, how it compares with the pump that comes with the Foundry!

      Me too it seems like it’s between the old Anvil pump and the Blichmann pump

    This is pretty similar to a beer I made a few month back. I used the same Vienna rye but I split the base malt with Pilsner malt. I pitched thomasgaard kveik and omega “all the Bretts”. The 10 gallons have been sitting in a keg in my garage ever since. Thinking I’ll try it soon. I did boil mine. Cheers

    Great video as always! It also reminded me I need to get on my yearly spring saison. Cheers- keep the videos coming!

    I love Mecca Grade! Their malts are outstanding. I have three base malts I keep on hand at all times, Pilsner, Munich, and Vienna, and I stock all three malt bins with Mecca Grade.
    I love no chill. Most of my beers I brewed last year have been no chill. Great time saver and water saver. I mostly brewed German and Czech lagers last year, and with a little adaptation, you end up with an even easier brew day.

    Very fun brew day love the more alternative techniques. I call this “no boil, no chill, no shits given”
    I’ve done an over night mash that started like yours but then continued thru the night with a 2 hour alpha rest and then 2 hr mash out…. I might have had another step in there just to use up time. Pretty slick to wake up and pull the grains then off to a boil! Im hoping in this method getting more attention to help develop it.

      I figured if I didn’t denature then it would continue to chew it up without using any more electricity and apparently it did since it hit 1.00. So easy I don’t know if I want to go back

    Love the video as always. Could you clarify in simple terms why you like the "no chill" and why you went "raw" with no boil?

      Thanks! Partly out of necessity because I’m working through this brewery build still. But it also saves a lot of water and it’s time efficient. Definitely will do this again 🍻

    Question: how fast does the glycol get your wort to pitching temp in the new fermenter? Great video as usual cheers 🍻

      It's a good question! I wasn't patient enough to find out this time and threw my tilt in with the yeast. Less than 6 hours for sure. Next time I'll throw it in after transfer and we can see. Cheers man!

      Sorry just jumping in this comment. I do a single pass with my exchillerator and get my wort down to 90 degrees and in 40min I can get 16gal down to 60 degrees, just enough time to clean up after a brew day. Cheers to both of you dudes who are killing the game!

    Do you have to worry about lacto overnight?

    • @HopsANDgnarly
      @HopsANDgnarly  6 місяців тому

      Yep it’s best to keep the lid on if possible. Some people keep the power going over night to maintain temps
