Thank you for this demo! What would you recommend sealing with following the staining? Polyurethane?
You can seal the wood with many different products. The way I select a finish is by knowing how I want the finished product to look. For barnwood, you probably don't want a shiny finish. You can use a satin sheen of polyurethane. You can use shellac. If you want the most natural, I use a wax/oil product I make myself called "slip n' shine" it's available here: simpletoncreation.com/products/slip-n-shine-food-grade-wax-by-alley-picked
Hey, Tom. I don't have to go through any complicated methods to get this result. All of the stuff that I bought 50 to 60 years ago already looks old and weathered. (BTW: So do I!!)
