  • Watch my Narrowboat transform! Transformation of the boat exterior, interior engine bay.
    The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
    I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

    Wow! You've done a beautiful job making a home out of a shell. My wife talked and talked about your channel and your lovely boat. I'm glad I finally took the time to watch some videos when I had time to actually take it all in. Thanks for sharing.

    I can identify with forgetting to eat or not wanting to stop to eat. I first experienced it at age ten when I got my first, basic set of oil paints, brushes and a few canvas boards. I'd be inspired to paint a particular subject or image that had come to me in the night and would be annoyed at the idea of stopping for anything but a loo break. I look back now, 60 years later, and am amazed that I had such a drive at such an early age! (And I can remember my pediatrician scolding my mother and saying I wasn't getting enough to eat!) I had forgotten all about this memory until you mentioned your weight loss while you were reconditioning and painting the outside of the Isness. 🥰

      Ditto... I got my first oil paints in my early teens and would paint early hours of the morning too. I was too inspired and forgot about food and sleep! 🙏

    Nameste Dave,
    As I have watched your first handful of vlogs what you say is true, you are having an impact on others. Your boat has transformed into something beautiful and almost a life of its own. It is the only vlog I watch where when I am done, I feel relaxed, at peace, and a petter person for spending my time with you. So thank you for that, great vlog, great job.
    Michael

    Having seen your boat up close, I have to say, I thought it had been done professionally. You've done an amazing job and personally, I love the colour.
    I think one day, I may need to repaint mine (keeping a similar colour), so I now know who to turn to for advice 😉.
    Well done Dave, the boat looks amazing inside and out. 👍👍👍

    Dave, you did such a wonderful job of transforming this boat into something so beautiful. I love the exterior color scheme, especially being that green is my favorite color, and your decorative touches on the interior really transformed this boat into an Oh, so cozy home. Well done, your efforts will shine for many years to come and I believe, have inspired more than a few owners, to spruce up their own boats.

    A spectacular job! Particularly impressive exterior panel painting; a tricky taping job.
    Glad you kept wood finish above the gunwales inside it looks so warm and natural, like a Turner sunset.
    Incidentally, if you put amazon links to the products you used in your renovation you could set yourself up to get revenue for each purchase.

    Hi Dave, I so enjoyed this Vlog once again. It really is such a wonderful space and environment to live in...You should be so proud. I also find you a very inspiring man when it comes to finding peace within. Always a pleasure to watch, and listen to.
    I came across this Vlog once again while searching for one of your Vlogs which starts with you using a spray to clean Isness. Would you be kind enough to remind me of what that product was? I am new to boating and very conscious of what I am actually using when it comes to cleaning, and also my personal care products, in order to care for the environment.....Thank you kindly

    Very motivating, Dave and what a great job you did both exterior and interior. Like you, I’m planning to get my engine room done first, just deciding on the colour.

    • @inspiredbynature3
      @inspiredbynature3  3 роки тому +1

      I believe its good to keep the engine bay a light colour such as grey. More light then easy to see components, such as wires or pipes around the engine. You can then easily spot oil leaks or other liquids too. Good luck 🙏

    • @blinzohagen
      @blinzohagen 3 роки тому +1

      Thank you Dave, agreed a light colour is best for the reasons you suggest. When I was at sea on oil tankers, machinery was very light green and bilges and bulkheads white. So I thought very light green or white. (My Beta engine is red). Good to see your subs gradually increasing.

    Akso, As I'm new to the chanel, where could I learn more about you - how you got to where you are. How do you sustain yourself financially; what food do you like. Sorry - not being nosey; just interested.
