I think the problem that a lot of people have with automatons is that they try to run away when things get rough, and just keep getting shot for doing so. Automatons are much squishier than Terminids and die to medium armor pen easily, so just standing your ground and taking out priority targets is much more important than trying to run away.
tho tbh automatons are easy to break contact from (atleast before the current patch where all hell breaks loose and the patrols constantly know your position)
@terrified057t4 yeah automatons are heavily reliant on line of sight so if you can make some distance and navigate around obstacles it's surprisingly easy to sneak away.
What alot of people don't realize is that when the bots are shooting they don't always know where you are and will fire at your last know/suspected location.
For example if you take cover behind a large rock then sneak away behind it without being seen then they will continue firing at that rock until one of them gets close enough to confirm you are no longer there and will start searching instead. This is assuming you don't do something else to pull their attention lol
Nah, that's not the case. Running is always the correct solution when bots call in reinforcements. The issue is that people *stay* in the fights and try and hold positions that don't need to be held, fire on patrols and take too long to stim when running.
Yeah no, staying and fighting the automatons when things get heated is generally the worst play unless you have a reason you *have* to, like an objective that requires you to stay near it (raising the flag, defense missions, etc). The number of times I've had a mission take like twice as long because divers stubbornly want to fight endless cycle of bots while just bleeding reinforcements, usually over a minor point of interest or even nothing at all is ridiculous. Even if you die and lose your gear while leaving, just live without it for a while or pick something up from a POI, it's both time and reinforcement efficient.
Go and accomplish other nearby objectives, come back when the bots have either despawned or wandered off so it's much less dense and clear out any stragglers, takes like 5 minutes tops when you'd spend twice that and half your reinforcements fighting. This is all assuming higher difficulties, on lower difficulties you can usually just fight it out without much trouble.
also apparently you can suppress them
i see rob's been watching some lore videos
Anyone remember rule 4 of SR : If there's friendly fire, IT will happen.
You are in range of enemy artillery
Also I’ve reported Rob to my democracy officer
17:50
Kaif: I just saw a hulk-
Another Hulk: Have you now?
I don't know *why* bots get to survive if you crash their drop ship on them, it's so dumb they don't get killed by that.
It's iffy, a lot of the smaller guys get squashed but Devastators and Hulks and the like regularly survive.
It also depends on when you kill the dropship, if you kill it after it has started glowing red which is the drop sequence then most of them will survive but also get bugged and sit in the same spot.
If you kill it before that point then only armored enemies will live but are often damaged
Fun fact the dropship wreckage can and will kill stuff it lands on
At 12:36 if you go to .25x speed you can see a rocket doing what Kaif asked for.
Is Rob ok? He does not sound ok.
yeet
ooh, 4 mins ago, nice~
Typical Stan "I was looking at my map" brother, sometimes you're defendable but how can you be that tunnel-visioned?? It wasn't even like "I was looking at chat" or anything like that...
Edit: god he even walks into the rocket devastator's rockets XD
