Regardless of US Law or US V Russia political issues Edward Snowden is a hero of the people and democracy in general. He cannot be blamed for gaining citizenship via asylum in an enemy state against democracy and world peace when his home country and ALL democratic western states (Canada, UK, EU states) refused to protect him from death and/or incarceration. He is simply parroting the party line thats some of the same stuff James Clapper and Michael Haden accused Snowden of. He first never got to Ecuador as they flagged his passport so he got stuck in Russia they caused that and that already a proven fact. Snowden himself maintains he gave all the data he had to the journalists and took nothing with him specifically so he could not be coerced into giving up classified intelligence to anyone. Accusing him of doing so is part of their effort to Frame him for a much larger violation of the Espianoge Act and to make him look like an actual spy instead of a whistle blower. If it was anyone else but the threw horseman of the apocalypse ( Haden, Clapper and Brennen) making this accusation I might actually but it but those three are the slimmeyest lowlifes in agency history. They make Allen Dulles Jim Sturgis and E Howard Hunt look like Boy Scouts.

If by citizenship, we automatically assume he is serving Russian interest then by the very same logic, we must also assume that every American should serve the interest of their country when that isn’t the case. We as human beings are allowed to differ and support humanity than the notions of servitude designed to protect a country. This is what Snowden did so no wonder this EX-CIA person is supporting the government by his very same logic and painting the man who stood up for Americans as an enemy telling how agencies use their power to support themselves than the people who they are, at least in principle, serving.

Snowden is one of the people who realized that you don't have to die to be celebrated or to help people. He took everything that he learned about them that was crazy and he published what was necessary and kept some other information to protect himself. In the information age, it is always best to have some sort of protection for yourself.
Him exposing the Mass Surveillance happenings made a lot of sense because people became targets in so many ways. He did the right thing. He chose allegiance to humanity over allegiance to a corrupt state

He didn't. Every thing sude just said was a lie. I am not going to judge whether or not Snowden is a traitor or hero but I do no that he never made it to Ecuador. He left his hotel in Hong Kong trying to fly to Ecuador to get the same Asylum deal that Asange got only he never made it to Ecuador because US State Dept flagged his passport so they were 100% responsible for him being stuck in Russia. As to him giving up stuff, he maintains that he gave up all his stolen date to the Jouralists from the Guardian so he had nothing on him to give anyone and he did that quite intentionally so that no foreign intelligence Agency could coerce him into giving stuff up because he had nothing to give. It's impossible to know the truth of that one way or the other. The Jouralists confirmed his story and the Russians say he has given them nothing but that is of course exactly what they would say even if he had. It's possible that the Agency is trying to set him up to look like a Spy instead of a Wistle Blower by bolstering their case with crimes he didn't actually committ.( Pretty unnecessary as they already have him for violations of The Espianoge Act reguardless of weather he actually gave anything to the Rissians or not. Just his unauthorized access and theft and removal of the classified intelligence alone he is looking at 30 years easy..They could be trying to go for a death penalty but they have only ever executed two people under that act, the Rosenbergs. He knew he was breaking the law when he did it and was willing to go to prison to get the information out..The only reason he has stayed in Russia is that he wants to be able to tell his side of the story and the Espianoge Act does not allow for that. It's you either did it or you didnt and it allows no mitigation what so ever. I do believe that even if what he did was heroic and patriotic he still should go to prison. Sometimes these things aren't mutually exclusive. I also believe however the Clinton's, Berennen and Clapper should be sharing a cell with him. Hillary comitted essentially the same crime and yet she wasn't even charged at all.
