Back in the arma 2 days I played on a server where the owner would routinely get drunk, spawn a tank (otherwise unavailable on the server) and drive around shooting at players. And then sometimes he'd pass out drunk at his computer without remembering to delete the tank, so my buddy and I would steal the tank and use it for ourselves until the server owner woke up and deleted it lol
now there's a way to play, record while blackout drunk and watch what madness you created the next day!

I miss the mods on Arma 2 and Arma 3. I mean DayZ Standalone was always my favorite, DayZ mod on Arma 2 felt older and a bit more clunky, but helicopters, bikes, and boats made it worth it.

If tanks were added I would love to see a rocket launcher or some sort of anti tank mine added to help protect yourself from them.

@@yourgrandmotherspimp1280 there are already grenade launchers in the game. an rpg7 for example would not be effective against infantry unless you are using fragmentation. so i dont see a problem (plus it and its ammo are heavy to carry and very rare).
You could already defend yourself against the bmps if they were added because they have very thin armor less than 20 mm the landmines and 40 mm grenades could easily destroy and kill the crew inside the tank or kill all the crew but leave the tank mostly intact due to the pressure from the explosion killing them so I don't think a RPG would be necessary but it would definitely be cool to have
RPG makes sense especially with the new addition to the grenade launcher
The btr60, brdm2 and bmp are already in the game as static crashes. So those would all be obvious additions at some point. I think that the brdm2 would be a very good addition since it is very lightly armored and takes multiple people to properly operate. They could add an at rifle grenade that goes on the sks since the sks already has a grenade rifle attachment on it. As well as at grenades for the grenade launcher. Maybe even some model of the rpg.
Armor piercing grenades aren’t a thing.

The BMP is not actually a tank it's an IFV which means Infantry Fighting Vehicle
Given how one of the main themes of the game is the military response to the virus outbreak, military vehicles like in this video would be the best fit keeping true to the game... not mention tanks that can fire 120mm rounds would surely lead to some exciting game play!
BMP-3, an IFV but can be used as a light tank if needed, is equipped with a 30mm autocannon firing assortment of shells, and a 100mm cannon firing HE-FRAG and ATGMs
I really want to see boats. Id also like to see a working recurve bow that has maybe max 50 m range if your an ace shot
I like the idea, and yes Tanks and APC's should be in DayZ. I am sure finding parts to make it work will be a chore though.
It will only benefit like the mega russian zerg groups who get the parts in a few hours
I want to see a BTR 82, thing would have a ton of storage space making it pretty much a mobile base, and the main gun would be very powerfull. It would be balanced by requiring you to switch seats to fire, or needing a crew of 2 minimum to shoot on the go, and the blasts would attract a lot of zombie attention.

Not official Dayz, right? They did good with adding the Hummer. It would make more sense though to add Russian armoured military jeep. Replacing the out of place M3S should be next priority, apart from fixing all the little things from 1.19 update.

BMP needs a lot of work. To be accurate, a BMP is not a tank. Its an APC. BMPs aren't tree killers. Being a former Bradley driver, healthy trees are strong enough to stop APCs and shut off the engine on impact. And if there where BMPs added, then the counter balance would be to add RPGs and an RPG backpack and a portable mortar.
I could see a horse really working in this game. Imagine the possibles and they can be like other animals However, they would needed to be tamed from the haybales or hay piles already in the game. Add the saddle for the horse and it could have a stamina system like players so its not infitinty running and to balance it can go only up to 20km/h or less with the use of stamina
Even though they'll probably not do this, this sounds totally doable. Nice thought process it makes me wish they had this lol
Tanks could work if they need multiple people to operate it and if the shells are super rare.
I think tanks might be a bit much without rocket launchers also being added and i dont think thats very dayz feeling. I could see maybe a Humvee with a heavy MG like an M2 or MG3.

It is utterly unbelievable that there's not a single bicycle to be found ANYWHERE. We can find fully intact, working cars, but we never even SEE a bike? Preposterous!!!

The BMP-3 (Boevaya Mashina Pekhoty, Meaning "Infantry Combat Vehicle") is a IFV used by the Soviet Union and in use with Russian Forces.
It has been in service since 1987 and produced since 1986.
Mass: 18.7 Tonnes
Length: 7.14 M
Width: 3.2 M
Height: 2.4 M
It has a crew of 12 in total. Able to hold 7 troops in the back. The Driver, Gunner and Commander. It has two extra seats either side of the driver manning two 7.62 MM PKT Machine Guns. Its main armament is the 100 MM 2A70 Cannon with the 30 MM 2A24 Autocannon mounted to the side of the Main Gun. Its powered by a UTD-29M Diesel 500 HP. With an operational range of 600 km (370 mi) and a max speed of 72 km/h (45 mph) on road and 45 km/h (28 mph) off-road. It also has amphibious capability with a top speed of 10 km/h (6.2 mph) in water.
dayz is slowly turning back into arma 2
Even if tanks, IFVs or APCs aren’t added, something like a reconnaissance vehicle would be good, since they are fast, lightly armoured and open top in some cases, so depending on the vehicle, it could be effective but vulnerable to certain attacks. Explosives would be pretty bad for them, higher calibre guns could probably penetrate them, and the crew would be somewhat exposed. The crew could have access to mounted weapons though, or the ability to mount the ones they have. Basically makes them a glass cannon, well armed at mid range but weaker at close range, and very vulnerable to top down attacks
honestly, bicycles would be great. Wet bags for the sides as optional additional storage, top speeds of 20-30 kmh but draining stamina when going at full speed, and quieter than cars
Bicycles, motorbikes and boats would be nice. Not fussed with super cars and tanks. I suppose very limited tanks would be fine as long as there are weapons available that can disable/destroy them :)

Fennek is Maltese for rabbit. The Gaz 71 Taiga is nice. The Taiga should turn on the spot if you just hit left or right. The BMP is an IFV rather than a tank. The BMP-1 has a 73mm gun that fires monster RPG rounds. The BMP-3 has a 100mm gun and a co-axially mounted 300mm chain gun. I think they will just get used as troop carriers. Having BMP-3's with a working guns is going to be game breaking. You could just park up at any base and mow the walls down and raid it.
Because it is OP, maybe make it so you can’t drive 3rd person. But they’d need to fix those little screens. Did either of you try to get in the gunners seat in the turret? To see if one person could shoot while the other drives?
A bicycle. It makes the most sense in a apocalypse scenario for quick and silent traveling. If it was incorporated the stamina depletion should be doubled while using it. It's a fair trade off. Use wrenches and other items to work on it. Incorporate a few new items to accompany the incorporation of the bicycle.
I would love to have a feature like a winch infront of the car so you can get yourself out by hooking to a tree and help people who get stuck.
I think the wheeled variant of the APC would fit well. Minus the armor, the wheels are vulnerable to gunfire.
A tank would be fun as hell.
Of course it and its ammo should be really rare.
Just like a crown jewel of any clans inventory only to be used in extreme circumstances.

I'll a nerd here, first vehicle is a light vehicle called the Fennek, 2nd one would be an early version of an MTLB maybe? 3rd one would be as it's called a BMP-3. However none of these are tanks, the BMP is an IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle)
Honestly if you were playing a hardcore server with your homies or whatever, dead silent haven’t heard any shots just lootin up and then you hear the tracks of the tank in the distance getting closer and closer would be super dope and trying to hide from it or whatever. And especially if you had big squads you could get a convoy going with the tank infront, obviously the tank actually shooting is op as fuck but it’s still pretty cool. They should add something like this Forsure
The BMP-3 is a Russian IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle), it is one of the most heavily armored IFVs still in service today. It was manufactured between early 1980s and mid 1990s by both the USSR and the Russian Federation. It’s ancestors, the BMP-1 and BMP-2 has been seen in litteraly every civil war after 1980s, meanwhile the BMP-3 has been Russia’s main IFV in all it’s wars after the collapse of the Soviet Union; first and second Chechen war(1994-1996 and 1999-2009), Russo-Georgian war(2008), and also Russo-Ukraine war which is now, and many more.
The IFV’s role is to allow foot-soldiers rapid deployment and redeployment in a battle, and also provide with fire power against enemy infantry on a frontline.
Anything that is decent off-road and has no weaponry or a high chance of spawning with broken mounted guns, and you would have to fix them to be able to shoot. Maybe like a .50cal.. that needs two repair kits to fix and crafted ammo that has a small chance of spawning in military areas
A van would be cool. More compact than a truck but still useful for item transportation and maybe you could sit on the back aswell.

literally just a bicycle... its quiet and quicker than running. As long as you dont have to find wheels, the frame, the handlebar... and each individual spoke for each wheel, as bohemia would have us do :/

I'd love to see more vehicles in general honestly. Military, aircraft, atvs, bikes, the sky's the limit.
I think that 8 seater infantry tank would be the smoothest and best addition. I feel like the awkward driving and slower speed of that tank would balance out the superior fact that it can be a freshie party bus. Or, for the second best idea, a great infantry vehicle for conquest-like game modes.

Those aren't tanks, those are Armored personnel carriers, they are lightly armored, 12.7 mm rounds can easily penetrate those vehicles, since it's modded barrets wouldn't have a problem taking them out
Boats, UAZ, LADA, Z, we've got the Humvee now and the M3S (Should be able to sit in the back) and for goodness sakes BICYCLES.
Amphibious tank would come in handy for making those long swims in game warmer and drier. :)
Are you able to sit in the gunner seat to control cannon? Would be cool as one person has to drive a 1-2 people use the cannon like in real life

Boats would be a great idea to the game. Adding more outside islands that you can either swim or ride a boat too. Even have maybe like a gas or a secret bunker ( a prison island sounds good as well) that goes down for miles to get great loot and the only way to get there is a journey on a boat. Imagine islands separated from the coast and you can base build and imagine having a full squad roll up on boats to raid a base! Be quite an experience to have but one can only wish.
I would also love to see WW2 Russian weapons in the game as they have many historical weapons.
Since you can enter the apc and tank, there should be crashed spawns with military loot inside ex. apc carrier w 5-10 fully kitted zombies inside(melees you w gun or knife but has great loot), tank w gun spawns, and add gun spawns in the back of the military trucks
Tanks make some sense. Could there be distruction? Buildings, fences, cars, etc. would be great with a tank. Has there ever been destruction?

I don't think armored vehicles are a bad idea, but they really need to work on the vehicle physics first. Also The environment ids not fully destructible so it's kind of like putting the cart in front of the horse.
I know this is always said bit I think a very low level vehicle makes sense. Small motor bike or even bicycle.

we used to play arma 2 dayz overpoch some server had T34 from ww2 and some other light armored trucks and it was amazing~! its not that bad! you can easly hide from it if you can counter it or use an RPG... 1 rocket did the job.
Something that is like a tank but carries lots of teammates . For transportation of large squads for raids and surprise attacks
like an IFV? i think that makes more sense in the context of the game than an actual tank
It would completely fit the game and game lore if BMP-1 and other soviet era Apcs and vehicles as you see wrecked bmp 1 everywhere. Just would need a decent anti tank weapons added to combat it.
Tanks would only work on large scale faction war servers, dont think they would have a purpose anywhere except community servers
fun fact. what is making car driving realy akward in day z is that you cant shoot out of the car even as pasenger... since it is often a rp game you should even be able to do stuff withing the car like putting a knife on the neck of the driver or even use guns inside the car. realy unfinished implimentation of the devs. also what is missing: you should be able to fortify a car with metal sheets and stuff so that you cant be sniped out so easy realy camon bohemia boys :D
Armed vehicles back in dayZ mod where THE thing to aim to, it was the endgame, as armed vehicles where very powerfull, a heli with a door gunner was deadly if used by the right squad, and i played on an Arma 3 exile server that was basically Dayz Epoch from arma2 1:1 just in new paint. There at the bandit/hero trader you could, with enought -/+ humaity buy an Armored APC with an Computerized M2 turret on it, and thanks to the Tanks DLC an optional missile skirt or some shitty camo net, that thing tho cost like 2 or 3 mil caps, and it came with the downside of the turret not being manned, meaning 2 or 3 BMG shots to it would disable the turret, ontop of that almost every mission had atleast 2 stationary TOW missile launcher and Armed vehilces patroling.
A freaking tank .. Christ I haven't even flown a helicopter yet.
Sorry I'm very neurotic about this but a BMP3 technically still isn't a "tank". It's a APC (armored personnel carrier).
You should be able to drive through gas in the BMP's though. They have CBRN protection in real life. Unless of course you open the doors.

So, hear me out here, golf carts. Electric golf carts. Almost absolutely silent, but the driver and passengers would all be vulnerable to attack while inside. Top speed of maybe 15kph.
I don't even care if they fire , Flying around in them should do enough damage.

I think an amphibious tank or armored vehicle would be dope. There are several examples of Russian and NATO amphibious vehicles, so I think something like that would fit well into the setting.
The bmp is already amphibious in real life

Would love to see buggy’s and stuff with mounted machine guns, the new Humvee should have an attachable lmg aswell. I think the gunner should be able to duck aswell to avoid fire
Tanks would take wars to an unprecedented level if you include helicopter mods as well. It would make zombies almost obsolete and PVP wars the framework of dayz instead of survival
