We never had that model in our country. We had the AS1 with the two chrome air filter canisters behind the carburettors Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Awesome bike my friend , i've never seen one in a such good shape , it is a dream bike to me. I live in Brazil now and it's so hard to find one of those that I think I'm going to have to go all the way down to Paraguay to get me one of those ,in Brazil it's very expensive if you can find one.
@Shortstory123 Just read the comment above from Gasmaster57 and found my answer. Mine had the different gas tank with the knee pads as well as the non-pleated seat. My seat had one strap running across the center of it - if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for posting! I really enjoy seeing people post things that some may not think are worth it.
Thankyou I was wondering about that I have another one of these and it has the 68 tank but I could not figure why they were different. If you need parts let me know ,Title date will be corrected in short order thanks again
.. My first bike, was the 1968 Model< Lots of fun, in my early teens < The tank looks like it came off an Enduro model. The one I had the tank was more square shaped
WOW! Too funny! Just for the heck of it, I typed in 1969 Yam Scrambler, and this pops up! I had either a 68 or 69 that I bought back in about 1975. It's so funny to hear this bike run and hear it's distinctive sound. Let's not forget the smoke! My bike smoked like this on initial start up and gradually stopped and ran just fine. The only difference I'm noticing, is mine had a gas tank, which would bust your b*#&'s if you stopped too fast or rode the wrong trail. Like I said could be 68 or 69.
nooo career tech I can hear the bog from improper air restriction a mile away...or wherever you are lol. No offense intended, I just know what can happen to a 2 stroke with it like that and I hate to see that happen....nice bike wanna sell it?
Brings back memories. I rode a new one home from the dealership when I was 15. Loved that bike.
LOVE the older, classic 2-strokes! Just picked up a classic 1982 HONDA MB5!
The actual term for was as street scrambler. Yamaha had a lineup of enduro bikes starting with the Enduro 250

Very nice, but put some air filters on it or you will seize it.
nice...clean the carbs or more likely sort your airbox out....
