    I am on the lookout for everyone's best practise on when some of the line items on the initial estimate go up therefore increasing the initial estimate.

      The customer will need to accept the new estimate Milkz, or the invoice can also be adjusted with the customer approval. Sometimes there may be additional work added or some tutor will need to be adjusted due to products not available.

    Thanks for the video! I have a quick question, is it easy to go back and add another line item inside of the estimate, even after you have sent the first progress invoice?

      Yes Steven, you can modify your estimate or your invoice anytime in QuickBooks Online.

      Depending on the situation, you may want to do a separate adjustment invoice so your customer can visualise what has gone up and by how much on a separate invoice

    My problem is that the second progressive invoice doesn't show the previous balance. Also it doesn't email a previous balance, current payment and final balance. So my work -around to create the second or third invoice is to duplicate the browser page and have the estimate open which shows the previous balance and the new invoice open at the same time. So, when it emails to the customer, all it sends is the total of the line item from the original quote and the percentage of what I am billing them for on the current invoice, but it doesn't show them how much they have previously paid on their prior invoice. Is this another non-intuitive issue or something I am doing wrong? Can you help me with this?

      Hi, you are right! You are not doing anything wrong. It does not show the prior balance. The best thing to work around the issue is doing exactly what are doing duplicate the page and look at the estimate then click on the top right hand side to view the prior transaction associated with the estimate. Thanks for watching the video!

      @@ClaudiaXperts It seems silly to me that this isn't an issue that they have resolved. I have been searching for over an hour for this answer... that it just doesn't do what you would expect it to do. I realized that the solution was what she posted above, but I was too frustrated at that point to just do it. I thought... I have to be completely wrong, and they can't allow this simple of an solution to go unresolved... but... they have.

      @@ClaudiaXperts How do you send a statement to customer showing beginning balance, invoiced amounts, payments made?

    What's the best way to generate a project report with project numbers?

    • @ClaudiaXperts
      @ClaudiaXperts  Рік тому

      This video is not about Projects, but if you are using Projects you can get a report from the project itself. If you are not using the Projects feature in QuickBooks then you may use tags or classes to track income and expenses and run the P&L by tags or classes.

    Great tutorial! Thank you. Is there a report that you can run to see all ongoing estimates with up to date balances?

    • @ClaudiaXperts
      @ClaudiaXperts  2 роки тому

      Yes, it is called Estimates and Progress Invoicing Summary by customer. It is under Sales and Customer reports. Glad it was helpful!
