I’ve never broken my back window either, but as a precaution I cut a 3/8th inch thick piece of plywood to size and when I’m loading the truck up I put it in front of the back window. it’s cheap protection.
Check out the close one on the window at about 6:50-7:00, i also sell only seasoned wood unless asked for green wood, i have one customer that buys 15 full cords for the following winter, no discount, but i know how much goes in my dump trailer, the wood gets pushed off the end of the splitter by the next log onto a convayor up and into the trailer, the only discount is no delivery fee, he only lives 5 miles from me, but no stacking or reloading, have only about 5 customers that want green wood, the rest seasoned, and they get what they ask and pay for

Very nice information. I will be done at the 48 inch rounds this week. My mess is cleaned up each day. The homeowner talked to me and he said now I just need to get the lawn fixed from the tree service work. I asked him if he would like me to restore the yard. He said you can do that? I said yes. I will take my truck and get a yard of pulverized and screened top soil. I will fill the cluster bomb holes with top soil snd then tamp in with an asphalt tamper. Then top dress,, seed and apply tacky straw. He was over the moon. He said he did not know how or who he was going to get things fixed. I have the ankle busting holes filled with pieces of wood as a temporary fix. It will add a half a day, but in the long run this will pay off.

I have a half dozen or more rear truck glass sitting behind my body shop. I am sure most all of them are for GM trucks but not sure and they are all from trucks older then I would ever be bothered with fixing. I threw a bunch of glass out earlier in the summer to fill up my dumpster before they came to empty it. I was getting nagged to getting rid of the truck glass but that is glass that would at least be desirable most the rest was for Grand Ams and stuff since I used to fix tons of them. I would buy 2-3 wrecks for parts to fix others since I was buying cars right from the insurance company and rebuilding them to sell. Some of the stuff I bought had 300 or less miles on them. I know my 04 GTO had 323 miles. Guy must have crashed it the first week he owned it lol when I got mom an 08 SS Impala it had 183 miles I think on it and it was a Hertz rental. Guess if you want to throw logs can throw them through the glass I have lol. I actually had an old sliding door I found out back behind a bunch of hoods I just smashed into the dumpster a couple days ago could have made a real mess with that
I broke my back window out in my truck throwing scrap metal into the bed. Long steel pole slide right up and through the window. $300 later i had it replaced.
I have been doing this over the years I just call it a barter deal. I have had work done on my truck and payed for kours of work in firewood I always pay for parts 5 or 6 years age traded firewood for a 60 gallon combo tool box with a pump for 250 bucks in firewood no more 5 gallon diesel cans. I had a state cop tell me he has never seen a area where people do so many barter deals he is from a big city the big town in my area is 8000 people most are 300 to 400. thats how we do thing here good cutting and stay safe
For those piles you have on your property, would you ever think about using your tractor when delivering face cords? Just thought it might have helped by slowly dumping them into your truckbed, not having to chuck them.
Just got 3loads yesterday. Free free and delivered. How was that. Got my new wood proser put together. By that was a job.Setting hear recovering from a hernia operation. Just my luck. Lots of wood to move.
Speaking of other businesses I believe you once said you have a youtube channel for your photography business. I clicked around but could not find it...
I sure been busy this season. Everyone says it’s going to be a bad winter for us in Ohio. Well… I’ve got 17 full cords ready to go (4x4x8) Usually we burn 5 cord a season
@@InTheWoodyard I t doesn't look like you have any trouble getting a face cord loaded in your truck and I don't mind throwing a few extra pieces wood on each load. Thanks and good night Irene. Ha Ha.

I've never had a Husky saw before & Stihl seem to be more popular here in the UK ... If you could do a video comparing them that would be awesome (if you know anyone with a stihl 661) Best regards. Is a bit odd that the dead standing oak I bought late winter is anywhere 20-50% but the cherry I bought this spring and bucked a month ago is 18-22% moisture.
Cherry dries pretty fast especially compared to something like oak or hickory. I cut quite a bit of it and if its a dead standing tree usually ready in no more then 6 months. Hickory and oak I usually let sit for 2-3 years
@@JesseLJohnson, I split the dead standing oak open and then decide by how it looks and feels if I split small to dry it in less than a year or not. The dry stuff I split a bit bigger but not too much bigger so it burns better in a campfire.
@@thefirewooddoctor I don't cut nearly as much oak as some other woods. We have oak but most of what I cut is from my property and I don't have any oak. We don't have the problems with all the dead red oak here yet either whatever bug or disease is taking it we don't really have that problem here yet. Most of what I cut is maple, cherry, ash, beech, and ironwood since I have tons of all that on my land. I do get some tree service stuff and I buy a load every now and then but the prices on that has got obscene. Its double what I paid just a year ago to the point I would make next to nothing buying loads. Most all the oak I cut is green and it takes a good 2-3 years I imagine if I was getting dead standing oak it would cut that in half. I mix the wood when splitting so there is some smaller and bigger stuff.
@@JesseLJohnson, oak wilt can spread by cutting infected trees down in the spring and before the leaves fall off the surrounding trees. The wilt also spreads through the root system.
