Thank you for putting this together! You’ve got some great picks here. Wanted to back your rec on Cartographers. One of my favorite s. So easy to pick up, so clever to fulfill. And you get to draw!! Overlooked too frequently. Thanks for throwing this in 😊
@ a very enticing aspect. And it seems regardless of the time away, that ruleset is very memorable. I just picked up Cartographers Heroes, and interested in giving that a try.
Oddly enough: my first ever solo game was Friedemann Friese’s Friday. Easy to play Solo-only deck builder, but incredibly challenging to win. These are good picks and have a few of em myself :)
Thank you for this list. One of your previous lists helped me decide to get into board games, with solo modes an essential aspect, this past few months. I already have four from your top 10, yes Wingspan has beautiful artwork, but it has given me food for thought about the others in the list. I just need to stop buying and start playing more! Thank you for your hard work in these videos.
Glad I could help and glad you’re enjoying board games so far! I agree that you can have too many games, so sometimes a small collection of games you get to play a lot really is the best!
Yes. Sorry. I'm answering your first question. Aside, love most of these games, but didn't realize that these all had a 1 player mode. Appreciate the video. Subbed!
Spirit island digital makes it wayyy more approachable for folks new to it. Played a number of good solo games recently- Harvest and Raising Robots being two standouts. Wingspan is a good prerequisite to Raising Robots but if you’re comfortable with that and looking for a little more of a challenge the Nauvoo games folks developed a VERY approachable rule book for it. Harvest is a great worker placement optimization puzzle with a solid solo mode!
I should try Spirit Island digitally. I just played Harvest on BGA the other day and liked it! I haven’t checked out Raising Robots yet, but have heard great things!
@ I play spirit island on my iPad and it takes care of so much of the admin that makes it much more approachable. Raising robots plays great solo and has a TON of replay value - worth seeking out.
Haha, Marvel Champions IS DANGEROUS! It's like a symbiot that will take all your money and all your gaming time! But jokes aside, it is a great game. Great list overall aswell. A lot of favorites of mine. Marvel Champions, Lost Ruins of Arnak & Heat are all great both solo and multiplayer. I love Everdell, but not so much in solo.. maybe I should give it another try.
Great video! I started off as a solo gamer, but now has a game group. Can you suggest games that have good solo modes, but can also be fun for multiplayer?
Thanks! I’ve found that honestly most games that you can play solo also work well for multiplayer! For a mixture of both, it can be good to look for games that have some good player interaction, so when you do bring it out with a group, you’re not playing “multiplayer solitaire” with everyone just kind of looking down at their own board. Hope that helps! I might also try to do some more research and maybe make a video on this in the future!
Parks, Horrified, Sleeping Gods Distant Skies, Onirim, Trailblazers, Cthulhu Death May Die and something not so filler like Final Girl, Tapestry and Expeditions
Couldn't disagree more about Sagrada and Everdell. Both of those games are good, but their solo modes are not. Sagrada in particular is brutal to the point of just not being fun. Would replace that with cascadia, which has scenarios and achievements you can work towards. Would also sub out Marvel Champions for Sentinels of the Multiverse. You don't have to worry about constructing your own deck (though i know that is a big plus for some). I would also add Apiary (fun worker placement with great solo mode automa) and Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition, particularly with the Crisis Expansion.

Thanks for watching! Glad you also like Cartographers! Also doesn’t hurt it takes like 90 seconds to set up and you’re good to go.

Great topic for a solo gamer, keep it up. Thanks!
Thanks! Thanks for checking out the video!
Great list! I’m going to go watch you other videos bc I like games that are 30 mins or less.
Thanks for watching! I really enjoy short games too, especially when you maybe only have 20-30 minutes to play!
Subbed!

Thanks for watching!!
@@SpecificallySolo can't wait to watch more!
Co-signed on Sagrada. I played that hundreds of times.
P.S. Liz Davidson's solo Wingspan video is outstanding.
It’s so easy to play like 3 games of Sagrada in a row, especially solo since it’s so fast. And I’ll have to check that out!
Under falling skies might fit the bill
That’s another good one!
This would have been my recommendation for dice, though I haven't tried Sagrada.
It’s quite difficult to play though

Yeah, became an expert in spirit Island due to the app

Marvel Champions can become the only game you play for sure haha. Everdell I’ve always liked the base game solo, but the expansion really adds to it!

Dune imperium hands down 😉
@@SpecificallySolo thanks :)
@@soloflo nice! I just bought uprising and the gameplay does look challenging and fun. Can't wait to personally find out 😀
@ the more you play the more you will learn to enjoy it and later with friends 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 same goes for many other games
What is ttrpg?
Tabletop Role Playing Game!
Since you already own the games you are showing, some B roll might help to visualize, good list otherwise
Thanks!

Those are all good choices! I’ve played a lot of those! I actually just ordered Expeditions, excited to check it out.
@ Expeditions is so fun and good Specially with the expansion Gears Of Corruption that gives the game more like a roguelike feeling

Cascadia almost made this list! One of my favs, and Apiary is great too! I need to check out Sentinels of the Multiverse. I’ve never played that.
