My mate's and I interviewed them after they played the Mecca Sunderland back in the day we'll cool fellas
I would see them play at the Mr George club on Monday nights when they were still called the Automatics. Was 20p to get in with the ticket thing from the week before. A few years ago a couple of them came into where I work and they recognised from decades before.
The Specials still have it Rock,Soul,and Ska on forever,Thanks Jimmy.

My second favorite band of all time after The Beatles but this is evidence they are dog shit without Jerry Dammers. Dammers IS The Specials.

I'm a huge fan of The Specials, right from their days as the Coventry Automatics but this isn't really them or their music: just my own opinion, but I wish they'd chosen one of their classics for this mainstream exposure. This Vote For Me has no flow, no ska-fantastic bounce and the discordant lyrics seem clumsy in their awkward attempt to force such an overtly political message. It's like they rehashed Ghost Town and a few others but did so without much soul. Meh, I'll go back to Little Bitch, Stereotype, Blank Expression, and Dawning of a New Era. Oh, and if you're new to The Specials, look up Gangsters on their official UA-cam channel. Not only one of their most iconic tunes but the official video is hilarious, with Dammers on keyboards, mocking the fake reality of the (not) live recording.
