- Опубліковано 6 лис 2014
- Bartley Gorman was the undefeated bare-knuckle boxing champion of United Kingdom and Ireland, often referred to as King of the Gypsies. In rare footage from 'The Ultimate Gangster Dvd' he is interviewed at Reg Kray's Funeral. Footage supplied by Liam Galvin & Yvette Rowland at www.unlicensedboxing.com
A good film on this man is well overdue!
still waiting!!!!
Would love to see that.
His book was handed to me by a big fighting traveling lad pal of mine now sadly gone. And it literally changed my life from book ignorant to well read and a proper reader. It would be a really good film alright... if it was done properly like the book.
Happy Dayz when I was 17 I read king of the gypsies and it the first book I had ever read not in an English class at school and it changed my life as well. The story’s in the book are just amazing and it gave me a lot of confidence in life. In some situations I found myself saying in my head ‘what would Bartley Gorman do’. P.s book was also given to me by my Nan who grew up a traveler
@@MrComedyKlips currently reading this book and it's jus crazy the life men like Bartley lived
What a man he was..Wish there was more footage of him
Met batley few times, went to hes house in uttoxeter.
Met hes wife, watched many bare knuckle fights on vhs, eddy mcginley fights and more, he took me to many places in hes green land rover and surrounding areas of uttoxeter, Nottingham and north west Leicestershire.
The video of him punching the bag hanging on the big oak tree, my dad was holding the bag, I recorded that and some inside the trailer.
Great man, true gentleman.
Are there no videos of any of his fights anywhere?
They would be well watched if anyone has any to convert to get posted on here..
Very nice man I remember him well he used to visit my dad, he used to come in his land rover and tap me on the head with his big hands as he come threw the door, I used to listen to the storys him and my dad had my dad's up there with you now god bless you both R. I. P 🙏

'Bartley Gorman' God rest his soul ........ Was a lovely Man who had Honour and Respect but could Fight for fun. R I P
I'm pretty sure he done terrible crimes but on the other hand ✋ he's a lovely man. Wow I don't get people I really don't.
@@killuminatikilla3235 Bartley Gorman was not a criminal.
@@killuminatikilla3235 what are you some sort of clown?
Bartley wasn’t no criminal .
@@killuminatikilla3235 what crimes did he do?
@@killuminatikilla3235 He was a bareknuckle prize fighter, who fought other men that lived that life style. He had old school principles and didn't target the innocent. Yes, he did some illegal things, but that doesn't make someone a mass murder. When he wasn't fighting, he stayed within his travelling community, raised a family and kept himself to himself.
that was some man right there, RIP Bartley Gorman.
One of the old school. What a great looking man!! RIP
There’s a very very hard man and gentleman right there 👍
I wonder how he hid that erection in his suit trousers
Hard as fuck and a true gent.
Now that's a hard man right there........

I stood next to Bartley gorman in a pub in South Wales going back in the early 80s,he looked a right hard man
I'm from South wales,, what pub and where?
@@chrislew8423 it was in one of the pubs in morriston near Swansea, can't remember the name of the pub now because it's closed. Bartley and his family were stopping at the site at the back of the asda supermarket. They were down here for a wedding.
@@marsultra7032 cool story I would liked to have met him 👍
@@chrislew8423 I remember him as a real smart dressed fella
@@marsultra7032 I was born in 81,, so I guess I was a kid when this happened lol I'm gonna get his book I bet its a great read
Bartley, as always, the gentleman.....
I met Barty a few times in the 70's, and was well aware of his reputation but I thought there was something infinitely sad about his countenance, bless him.
@velveteyes79 True enough.
@@BradBrassman Persistent stress leads to chemical imbalances, specifically depression/melancholy. We don't understand that too well with the british medical system but it's certainly a big factor and these guys or fighters are constantly under stress.
Interesting observation
He carried a lot with him, and said himself ‘he wouldn’t wish it upon a dog’
@@musicmusic6595 Chronic stress leads to hormonal imbalances for sure - elevated cortisol levels, but I disagree that it causes chemical imbalances in the brain - this is the reason psychiatrists give in order to justify treatment with psychiatric medications.
Looks le sloth out of the goonies
Reg did bird with my uncle who is a volunteer from south Armagh…..they became quite friendly. He said he was a nice man to have on the wing.
The man looks formidable
You can tell when someone’s the real deal just by looking at them and he looks hard as fuck 😮 RIP Bartley 🙏

Crazy that Tom Hardy not only played the Krays but also was inspired by this guy’s voice for Bane
Wow wat a fighting man bet he would show a lot of people these days respect king alright you can see were the furys get the spirit from Bartley Gorman king of the gypsies Rip legend love from Australia true fighting man
Gormans and Furys are related, by marriage.

He's a few doors down from The shakes actually he is outside the morgue there
Quiet.Discreet.Respectful.Classy.
Looks like a solid piece of granite
Bartley must have not been aware of Reggie's fascination with young boys.
@@fintanstack2154 I think that was in reference to Bartley calling Reg a gentleman.

Offered out Lenny McLean and Lenny sadly denied the offer but if it went a head fuck me that would of been a fight to witness
You wouldn't have thought a big hard Travellin man such as Bartley would have associated with /had anything to do with them Bandits.
Fuck, didn't know he knew thee the Kray brothers!
Well that was interesting...
Yeah. ‘Gentlemen’.
any footage of him fighting anywhere
Unfortunately I don't have any - wish I did - cheers

No , because he couldn't fight in reality another urban myth man like the krays both useless wimps
Why isn't there a real documentary of this man? He seems like much more of an interesting person instead of these guys in knuckle. Not to say knuckle was bad, just that there seemed to be a lot of talk in it.
there is a documentary about him
is that tyson fury grandad
The real gypsy king a real man hard as fuck still frightening people from the grave 1 hard man amen
I’ve had harder shits. This man was all talk no action, I’m only 21 but i’d still smash this fella to bits in his prime.

Any man that beats a Rooney and beat him bad is hard as nails
Wayne..?
Which Rooney did he beat bud?
John, I think it was at Sam's funeral
A true British man born of good stock
Didn’t hear what he said
interviewer: how did you know each other
Bartley: I used to visit him when he was inside
Why he was there to show respect to an old bacon I don’t get
Bartley with capital letter sorry !
*gentleman, unless Reg was more than one man
There's documentary film of him, with some shots of his punching power, in training, at ua-cam.com/video/zvybZLKH7Zk/v-deo.html
Also his autobiography is well worth reading.
That Woman asking 'Bartley Gorman' R I P , she said to him why has he come to 'Krays' Funeral but Helloooooooo why does anyone go to a Funeral to show Respect obviously, She probably asked him that Question because she seen he was a 'Traveller' and she probably thought oh my Lord whats a 'Traveller' doing here.
SANCHO...is he going...or staying..?
Does he look like a traveller in pin striped suit?
For those who dont know this is my cousin Tyson Fury's grandfather a top fighting man and hard as nails r.i.p buddy
He would have destroyed Mike Tyson
Don't be ridiculous.
@@Purewalite it's not, Tyson couldnt handle Bartley s intensity
