I work in King NC which is where Matt Smith is from, and about 10 minutes ago I watched his haulers getting on highway 52 north on the way to Bristol. It was pretty cool.
Didn't dig too far into the archives for this one apparently, could be called '5 moments you probably don't remember'. Some one got lucky on the tree, someone went into the kitty litter, and engines blew up, at a racetrack, shocker. With history going back to the 1960's you might think there would have been more interesting moments than just things that happened in the last couple years. How many IHRA championships were decided in Bristol? If your obligated to stick to NHRA, how about John Force in the Superman car and the rest of the funny cars taking on the dragsters in the old All Star events? How about Cory Mac's car breaking in half at half track? Clay Millican scoring his first win at his home track on fathers day after losing his son?
Most of the good footage was from ESPN and had Mike Dunn, Dave Rieff, Paul Page, Marty Reid, or Bill Stephens commentating, so there wouldn't be any self-promotion in it. The broadcasts are just awful now.
Was there in 21. Got to watch from the roof of the tower. 1. it was COLD! 2. Best view of any sporting event ive ever been to. 3. A throttle wack in Thunder Valley is like no place else!
These Top 5 lists are garbage. How is John Force's win in the Superman Funny Car over Bob Vandergrif when they raced Dragsters Vs Funny cars in 99 not on the list. Or the Top 5 Route 66 moments not including Doug Kalitta running the quickest ever pass on the 1/4 mile at 4.420. Ridiculous
When exiting the Nascar truck race in the fall, they took exiting cars in the parking lot through the side of the track strip, and then over the track itself. It wasn’t much but I was so happy my car got to touch one of the world’s fastest quarter miles.
I get Marc’s should be there.. I like that Alexis’ should be on there, but I mean 04 pedal fast, Cory Mac.. CLAY?? etc…. Can’t just be a literal top 5.. not possible
Why would Erica Enders oil the whole track down by staying i the racing groove? I know it was probably the last pro race of the day but that doesnt mean that was the last races of the day. She should have pulled over like they tell you to do in the drivers meeting
I suspect as she couldn't see a thing, the risk of hitting the wall was a big risk if she tried to steer off the racing line, better to keep the wheel straight and come to a hault.
Not even the pedalfest of 2004 in Funny Car made the list?
You would also think Corey Mac going through the lights backwards and broken in half would have made it also.

Funny how when I think of great moments at Thunder Valley, I think of the IHRA.
I love these videos before the races 🔥 reminds you of the coolness and the character each track has
Nice to hear joon FIA achievements mentioned, nice to see us europeans going well across the pond
great highlight clips,love em👌

My Dad's freind Charlie Armstead from West Virgina won 1987 IHRA World Bracket Finals in Bracket 1 at Bristol
Badass awesome 😎
TF -vs- FC was a good one too
Should be titled "top 5 Bristol moments since 2021"
HOW is Clay's win on Father's Day at his HOME TRACK...NOT on this list? Come on Brian.
Agreed!

I used to go there, but now it seems like a pro wrestling event.

Bro. Is. So. Good
Thunder in the Holler...
Clays win on Father's day
dont feel like the net did much, except add a lot more G's to the crash.
Dee Dee❤
Oklahoma noble. First thunder valley..
the last one, he went over the line. How did he win?
It was after the finish line, so doesn't count.
Have they switched to AJRACING Engines?
What happened to the enders car?
What about Top Fuel vs Funny Car from 1999.
Dam 😂😂😂😂😂

It will be tons more fun when all the drag cars are EV's......said nobody EVER!
Yes, do these for all events. NHRA events are big deals and deserve to be treated like that.
2:14 yeah just stay on the throttle and completely oil the track.. probably took them hours to clean that up...
Did they ever say what happened with Erica's car?
Antifreeze/ coolant leak..

If you think these are the 5 wildest moments at this track, the your delusional!
Leah just can never be consistent. she's just not that good, she's been struggling for a long time.
That’s a pretty weak list. 😒
