Who saw his brilliant special standup on comedy central?Wasnt he marvalous!!! I was so proud of him, especially now that I have red parts of his Booky Wook. Buy it and see what he has come though to get to where he is and youll just love him all the more.
though the words I fell in love with his soul. I almost adore him more when he is not funny, when he ist just honest and true about the world. You can see, that there is a very sad kid inside of him.
I believe everything he says - he is perhaps the most transparent man and that could be why he is so funny, because he can express every little detail perfectly in ways which I atleast tend to skim over.
"the interviewer... i didnt care for much and kinda ignored her but at about 6:00 i resent her... "what happens in your head when you perform, do you know?" i hated that question..." I felt exactly the opposite. (1) She's one of few female interviews I've seen of Brand where the interviewer seemed to be flirting with him or bemused with him; she's very relaxed and direct and comfortable in her own skin, and seemingly puts him at ease. (2) It's a great question.
I agree. I love to make people laugh too. and he is right on, on a lot of things that he says. like when he was talking about having a persona on stage and things like that, and how that is the only place you can really let yourself loose, and how you are refined in public. I love his fast witted comedy. he is intelligent when he speaks and is intelligent about the jokes that he makes
He's got the craziness of a genius. and it scares me to say i really relate to alot of things he describes. I'm not claiming to be a genius, the speed of his thoughts and the way he processes them really strikes a chord with m. I can't stand him but i can suddenly relate to him.
Don't subscribe to "group think". Think for yourself. If you relate to him, ask yourself why you couldn't stand him previously. Perhaps he has truly great characteristics regardless of his faults and failings. He is, after all, human...quite like you!
Im male, and 100% straight, im in a strong relationship. I think russell brand in really intelligent, ive been reading his books, watching him speak and talk on his programs simple to learn from him, iv been trying to adopt his way of speeking. He has almost made it 'cool' to use strong language. (in response to gavbag1234)
KK IM GNA WATCH THIS AGAIN TO FIND THE FACE. K 7:16, HIS TONE OF VOICE, THE SLIGHT TWIST OF HIS HEAD, WHAT HE SAYS IN THAT MOMENT---makes u wanna give him a big cuddle. all the stuff he says about the oneness of being etc, makes u wonder, that is what he believes but has he ever FELT it.
What people need to see, and what I have only recently come to learn, is that he does do and present many respectable things. He's a vegetarian, h speaks against racism and homophobia, etc. Often, his sex obsession overshadows everything else, but it shouldn't.
Maybe he enjoys his teacher like role because his childhood was so uncontrolled, and feels that comedy is the only aspect of his life that he can easily manage.
@maxthedrummer2008 dude, im doing the exact same thing...brand is actually an inspiration, i use him for social effectiveness and george carlin for wordly awareness...potent concoction my friend!
@gavbag1234 you say that women's judgement is clouded by their sexual attraction...that females who consider Brand intelligent do so because we are sexually attracted to him and thereafter have no further ability to judge character because our thinking is somehow clouded. I take offence to your comments. I am educated and experienced. I enjoy irreverent comedy and judge him intelligent without being sexually attracted. Didn't tell you not to share, just find your comment unfounded and ridiculous
I love the comments. He's good-looking so people start to talk about him as though he's amazingly intelligent after that fact. There are smarter people, there are more insightful people. He's a clever, insightful man. But look at the statistics, most popular with females, no men in there at all. So you have to wonder is this a coincidence?
why cant more men have this level of love for fun and life and a sence of joy???I think this is the winning formula that Sir Russ has and that we rarly see in men as well as women.his child like quality is the draw with me,truley it is more important than say money or being beautiful.just my thoughts on this.what do you think?
Or maybe it's just cleverer people who use big words are fans of him. There's nothing wrong with talking like you're intelligent, although none of them say things in such a poetic way as Russell.
Well I have no issue with Russell, I think he's a lovely clever guy. The problem I have is with the way women think of him, since they let sexual attraction cloud their judge of character, then we all hear about what happens when this goes wrong. They say all men are assholes and so on. But yeah, I digress. I agree with you entirely also.
@FluffyUnicorns00 Wait a second, so you think that because YOU'RE educated and experienced and because you're not inclined to make such a mistake that nobody is? Frankly I don't care what you find offensive, what I'm stating here is a view I have on human beings and their tendencies to ignore vital information. It's not a certainty, and it's not a sweeping statement, it's just an observation of a few comments on this video.
@gavbag1234 ...the way women think of him... "since they let their sexual attraction cloud their judge of character" WTF? Can we just enjoy the marvellousness of this interview without your sexist claptrap? Honestly some people...
@IEatVideoClips OMG do you think Robert Pattison's not really a vampire (says me the sexually enraptured female) for chrisakes what on earth does this have to do with an exceptional interview between the brilliant Ms French and the equally brilliant Russell Brand? Get a life!!
@gavbag1234 you misunderstand me, I'm not speaking for others I am only speaking for myself. You made comments deriding the ability of women to make judgement and as a woman I defend myself from your ...yes...sweeping statement on women....go back and read your own comments...and yes it is already obvious that you don't care what I find offensive by your already obnoxious and sexist comments you have declared yourself misogynistic
@cooloola62 Woah, woah woah. You realise you're talking to a real person here? It's quite impressive that you could make that number of statements about someone and include in those statements an accusation of being obnoxious... I don't think I'm going to continue this, I'm not a sexist, or misogynistic, I'm here to talk to people an share ideas, and I think you're being pretty childish. If the goal is to brand me whatever class of "bad", then be my guest, but I'm not participating.
No!Ive known lot of men that I just really enjoyed being arround , just soaking up thier beautiful energy, but I wont love on them no madder what they say or do...oh no,and this is only my own exp,but if they start to become hurtful or become mr.angry pants thats when i would show them the door baby.
Hooray for internet arguments. Yet again proving how the human race is like a pack of lions, viciously defending off their pride (of which they are very proud) in a stubborn show of what the lions think to be bravery, but more intelligent creatures realise as foolishness. There really is no point in insulting strangers online...
@cooloola62 Sexist claptrap. Well, I have 2 options here, address your argument or just address the ridiculousness of your making it. To answer your question, you can both enjoy the video AND allow me the chance to express my opinion. I like to think that I'm welcome to share what I think, dear. Believe it or not I like that people can come and disagree with me, but I really don't appreciate being told not to share what I think. I don't think the world needs any more reticence. Love ya.
Well max, I don't want to be pedantic here. But nobody is 100% straight. 2nd of all don't adopt anybodies way of speaking, if you learn to develop your vocabulary you'll naturally develop a way of using your own manners of speaking. Along this note you'll actually also realise people rarely think it is cool to use what many call "big" words. I have found myself realizing the best means of expressing something, then use more common words for the sake of not being laughed at. Its far from cool
I love his interviews. Always very funny and lovely. But this interview... particularly insightful. I love it!
I agree, I love this Russell. I mean, I love him when he's being all funny, but seeing him all sincere and poetic makes me love him even more. xxx
He talks beautifully! And he's all gentle, warmhearted and loving. Aaaaaaaaah.
This interview is so chill and down to earth I love it
Who saw his brilliant special standup on comedy central?Wasnt he marvalous!!!

Interesting to see him quiet and calm since his act tends to be so high energy.
"the interviewer... i didnt care for much and kinda ignored her but at about 6:00 i resent her... "what happens in your head when you perform, do you know?" i hated that question..."

he's bloody brilliant. So articulate and poetic and funny, and lovely in person. x
russell has opend my eyes. helpful stuff . a beautiful person.
respect to Brand. Charismatic and charming and projects honesty.
He's got the craziness of a genius. and it scares me to say i really relate to alot of things he describes. I'm not claiming to be a genius, the speed of his thoughts and the way he processes them really strikes a chord with m. I can't stand him but i can suddenly relate to him.

russell brand at his finest. In near total control, and talking about his favorite subject. HIMSELF.
he's a very visceral human being, I really like him
Haha brilliant :D
Ineluctable modality of the humorous? xD
never realised dawn was so handsy
two great characters x)
I love him so much.
Im male, and 100% straight, im in a strong relationship.

all the stuff he says about the oneness of being etc, makes u wonder, that is what he believes but has he ever FELT it.
It is a truth for me. It's actually profound how he put that into words.
He kinda reminds me of a some strange lanky bird.. In a good way though. I love that he's funny yet so smart about it. Russell ftw!
What people need to see, and what I have only recently come to learn, is that he does do and present many respectable things. He's a vegetarian, h speaks against racism and homophobia, etc. Often, his sex obsession overshadows everything else, but it shouldn't.
At 6:25 he speaks such a profound truth for himself, I think
it's not really supposed to be like an interview, but more of just a conversation, because thats when you usually get more out of someone.
Maybe he enjoys his teacher like role because his childhood was so uncontrolled, and feels that comedy is the only aspect of his life that he can easily manage.
@gavbag1234 sorry not fluffyunicorns (younger family member who shares computer) didn't mean to confuse.
i love him!!!!!
I love the idea of russell standing there smashing a dead bird with a hammer, throwi ng it into the crowd, then shouting at them for being shocked :')
I would love to hear Russel's opinions on the comments below mine...
@maxthedrummer2008 dude, im doing the exact same thing...brand is actually an inspiration, i use him for social effectiveness and george carlin for wordly awareness...potent concoction my friend!

yeh i dont think hes really going to be reading your comment darling
he's my idol
I love the comments. He's good-looking so people start to talk about him as though he's amazingly intelligent after that fact.

He's a clever, insightful man. But look at the statistics, most popular with females, no men in there at all.
So you have to wonder is this a coincidence?
Russell Brand has charisma ooozing from every pore!
Thanks?
Have we met?
Dawn French is a fucking good comedian...

What does visceral mean? Sorry if I'm being blond.
Or maybe it's just cleverer people who use big words are fans of him. There's nothing wrong with talking like you're intelligent, although none of them say things in such a poetic way as Russell.
He is so beautiful
Well I have no issue with Russell, I think he's a lovely clever guy. The problem I have is with the way women think of him, since they let sexual attraction cloud their judge of character, then we all hear about what happens when this goes wrong. They say all men are assholes and so on.

Really? She's quite famous you know. She's called Dawn French. Her sketches are good.
@FluffyUnicorns00

I KNOW I'm in love. ahaha
this sounds like therapy
ahh his face at 7:19
I'm not sure what you mean by that at all dude.
No condescension intended.

I want to kiss kiss kiss him!
He is a beautiful person
whats up with dawn frenches hand movements lol, its really bizzare and distracting lol
She's been in comedy a long time but she never did the crack america thing. Her humour is a bit too British I think.
Does anybody like school?
Only the insane ones see the sane as insane... Something to remember when leaving derogative remarks up here...

@lfcfemmefan88 bill gates dropped out of high school.
I think that they should be glad that you spend any time with them at all, the insufferable oiks!
Why don't you just google it? or check the dictionary? Why would you ask people here on UA-cam?
bahahahah i agree with you they sound like there trying to be like him. and it makes them sound so unorginal.
Brand remains ineluctable in his turgid verbosity.
