Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! I’ll definitely take your points into consideration, especially about mixing and canvas sizes. It’s great to hear what works best for viewers. I really appreciate your support!
actually, mixing colors like his previous method is good for beginners to learn how to mix and tonal values... like you said but this wastes lots of paint. You see, every time he uses colors mixed by that pallet knife, he rarely uses up all of them. The method is advantageous for people like me to learn how to use a pallet knife more properly. But for the best, I prefer using both methods in one video. Another thing is that in my opinion, I much prefer the usual canvas size 8 x 10 in because it adds overall equality to the painting; not too long nor too short; but I still have no objection to using other canvas sizes bc, well, try new things! Last thing is my request for @CorreaArt: can you do snowy mountain paintings in that you use the pallet knife for the snow pls bc I want to know more about how to use the knife more properly but don't know where to start and how to make it break smoothly like other artists do. Thank you

@Correa Art - why did you change the system where you mixed the colors first-
The method is the best- for many reasons-
It’s great for beginners
It keeps the colors pure and clean-
Also- good for mastering - mixing tonal values-
And moreover- it’s good for viewers- as we watch you mix- again beginners can learn so much- mixing tonal values- and every time you paint and use this method- beginners are getting more practice with mixing-
Again - more importantly it keeps the colors from getting muddy/ contaminated-
Also having a system like your old way- your keeping the tonal values - in check
When mixing like your doing here- the tonal values can never be kept in check- and especially with beginners- will cause contamination resulting in muddy colors- your a seasoned painter- but for viewers- it’s so much better- again- for mixing tonal values- keeping the values in check- no contamination- muddy colors- great practice every time -
And visually- as a viewer the other system is much better- this new way is very chaotic - watching you mix- especially without any sound- and or captions-
The other way- everything is visual-- viewers can understand what your mixing- see what tonal values your achieving- and again keeps the values in check-
Of all the painters on UA-cam- your ability to see and mix colors- (and not using black)… is what makes your works stand out-
Your works always have beautiful colors schemes- your color mixing is what makes your work unique- and the colors never appear- muddy/ chalky- garish-
Always appearing realistically beautiful-
The old method again - also helps viewers especially beginners to understand and learn - by visually watching you- and to understand what tonal values your after-
Because there’s no audio and or captions- your other setup is best for viewers- beginners - to learn and understand the art of color mixing-
There’s too many painters on UA-cam that are self taught- and mix like your doing here- and they’re paintings look - muddy- chalky- they also don’t have control - (keep in check) the various tonal values while mixing as such- and more importantly- having a painting channel where so many want to learn - paint along- it’s impossible to do so with this mixing on the go method--
Professional- seasonal painters always use the method you used prior- pre- mixing- colors- achieve the tonal values- not to contaminate colors and- to plan out the color scheme- of particular piece-
@Correa Art please consider going back to your other method-
“Never change a good thing”….
If you analyze you works- there is a difference in the colors- your starting to have the colors - darker- this is a result in not having control of mixing the necessary tonal values that’s needed for the scene-
Also- consider using a 9/12 size canvas- visually for viewers- the canvas size is too small-
You can buy a sheet of MDF board and have the store cut the sheet into 9/12 size- from one sheet you can get like 40-60 MDF- canvases-
Using MDF- especially with acrylic- is so much better - you can create smooth textures- gesso and sand it 2-3 times
And for selling paintings- easier to ship and package- never worry about being damaged- also great for storage-
Another is the already bought 1/2 inch too 1 inch wooden canvas- easy to hang and gives a beautiful look on wall- in fact paintings that are “small”- this is very popular for buyers-
The decor of having a size like 12/12- for stills/ floral and 9/12 for landscape- seascapes and cloudscapes- are what people buy-
