The framework ark is among the best seasons of any show out there. The quality of every episode just demands that you watch one more. You cant let it go. Big fan of this show
Honestly the second half of season 4 is amazing, with the episode of who's a freakin robot, to then the base being blown up and then going straight into virtual hell for that team.
i feel like seasons 3 and 4 are the best, if youre mainly there for daisy. especially her falling and then getting a redemption arc is just good tv. i just wish they had handled the end of that arc better after episode 12 in season 4, because the just sort of acted like she was suddenly fine again, despite her simply having been more or less forced back in by mace without actually dealing with any of her issues.
@@Christian39521 personaly I didnt care for the last season. Felt like filler. I really like the 2nd to last one when they opened portals to beings like ghostrider. It felt like the real last season
S1-3 is a bit slow but once you get through them you can’t look away. S4-7 are incredible and it sucks that so many people miss out because they let themselves be put off by the first seasons
@Vincent H. I liked all seasons except the Quake's parents (2nd half of 2nd season) and 3rd season (I think that was when Ward turned into the alien) because they were messy.Other than that, the last few seasons got me a little confused with the time-travel stuff, but they were still enjoyable.
LOL "Isn't as critiically acclaimed as the Netflix shows" - two years later Agents of Shield becomes the highest rated show of Marvel TV on Rotten Tomatoes, and the Netflix shows are faltering BAD.
Meanwhile Agents of Shield is renewed for both a sixth and seventh season, while all the Netflix shows are being cancelled. Shield is an amazing show and a really interesting way to continue in the MCU. After the Winter Soldier you can go down the "Thanos storyline route" or the "Agents of Shield" route, it's a really nice duo watch.
Me experiencing this show: First half of season 1: meh, I'm bored. I don't care about anyone except Coulson. This looks like the MCU's first big fail. Sigh. Second half of season 1: hmm, intriguing. Tell me more. Oooo nice twist. I didn't see that other twist coming. Nicely done. I'm curious. Want to see more. This could become quite good if they keep this level of quality and unexpected turns. Season 2: Wow, seriously? This is even better than the second half of season 1. What the hell. This show is good. It doesn't need anyone from an Avengers movie in it. This stuff is great. Give me more. Season 3: This show has really become something special. I really love it since last season. What a world they've built. I love these characters. FitzSimmons? Heck yeah. Agent May? Badass. Skye? Hehehehehe. Agent Ward? Hehehehehe. Season 4: BEST. COMICBOOKSHOW. EVER. Just wow. These three arcs have shown how you do a 23 episode a season show. AoS has cracked the code. All the comicbook shows should be like this. Season 5: WHhhhaaaaaaat theeeee fffffffffffffffffffffffuture?????? This show keeps impressing me. It's insane how it keeps evolving. I feel sorry for the people that dropped it in season 1. This is an entirely different thing now. It's become a beast. I remember when I didn't care about Fitz. Now I love the character. He ranks in my top 3 all-time MCU characters. Even Skye, who I really disliked, has become one of my favorites. I can't name a single bad character on the show. Not since season 1. Every character has been developed masterfully. Even a robot doppelganger got an arc. Main characters on Arrow barely get arcs and this show gave one to a fake one. Just wow.
Agents of Shield isn’t nearly as bad as people make it seem to be. Yeah the first season was slow but it gradually gets better and introduces pretty cool storylines. I definitely feel for these characters more than the characters in the films or Netflix series because I know they won’t do anything to them.
The first half of season one actually becomes good once you look back from where they are now. Everything was slow, low-stakes, hopeful, lighthearted... almost naive. It's what the characters lost.
@@Runenschuppe i finished season 6 then i rewatched a few season 1 episodes. It made me feel bad for all the characters since they don't know what they will lose
You can’t get character development that is as good anywhere else than in Agents of Shield. Any bad thing that impacts a character has lasting events not just in that one episode, but lives as a character ark in the season and comes back to haunt them in later seasons. Unlike other shows that do it purely for shock value then forget about it the NEXT episode. In Shield you can’t even see the seasons as separate, they all build and connect together especially with the way season 5 tapped into other seasons. Whenever I see FitzSimmons on AOS I’m just amazed at the complexity of the two characters and then I look at The Flash’s Cisco Ramone and Catilyn Snow, characters that are meant to be “engineering and biochem” and I just want to facepalm at how prop-like those characters are. Not even a smidge good as FitzSimmons (even when these two were apart).
Couldn’t agree more! Fitz and Simmons completely hit it out the park when it comes to emotions and can express so many at one time. I especially love the scene where fitz cuts himself open for Simmons and then suddenly turns into an Android. The way he did that was amazing!
I couldn't bear to get through more than 3 episodes of Season 5. And I learned that the rest of 5 and 6 aren't much better. Sure it was dark, but that doesn't mean it was good. It was all so anxty and depressing, and no matter the circumstance in any media, the Kree are so extremely unlikable. I get that's the point but God, it's painful to watch. I'm skipping to the finale of 5 and going to 7 with some catchup. The first 4 seasons were so good, but fell apart when they started taking the universe they exist in seriously.
+satay71 Even Season 1 is way better once you know where they intend to go with it...seriously, it is one funny aneurysm moment after the other, especially in Coulson's interaction with Ward, or May's remarks about her past trauma. In any case, I prefer a show which improves steadily over one which starts well just to crash and burn in the third season at the latest.
It's kinda weird, as of 2018, Agents of SHIELD actually ends up being miles better, more compelling and more adrenaline-driven than even most of the recent seasons of the Marvel Netflix shows (and that's from a fan who enjoys the darker corners of the MCU. Damnabbit, Jon. You are really mssing A LOT in the recent few seasons of AoS).
Marvel Netflix shows: Excelent - Daredevil Seasons 1 and 3 Ok - Daredevil season 2, Jessica Jones season 1, The Punisher Seasons 1 and 2 Average at best - The Defenders, Luke Cage Season 1 Bad - All the rest
You guys made a really good Honest Trailers..But..Agents of Shield IS one of Marvels best television series hands down. It wouldn’t have lasted as long as it has if it wasn’t. Cheers!
Ron Simiyu You are wrong. AoS is the best show in TV right now. It has better characters, better acting, better writing than any other comic book Netflix or DC/CW series.
which is your favourite season? I just finished season 3 and i wasnt very impressed. People are saying season 4 is insane, so i will be watching that soon.
Ron Simiyu I love season 2 (because of villians and their origins and connections with each other) and season 4. People are saying that season 4 is the best because of GR but for me it isn't the truth. First arc (Ghost Rider) was good but LMD and Agents of Hydra were brilliant. What I really love is AoS' writing - every season is well written. Writers never forget where they came from, very often every line or scene means something important and leads to something more important, and the characters are consistently written. Characters never forget that they can do something, they are still learning, changing - FitzSimmons from season 3 or 4 are not the same laboratory rats from seasin 1, but they are full-fledged agents. And Sky/Daisy/Quake/Mary Sue Poots is still the same person but different, Quake uses her power but she didn't forget she was/is a hacker.
I think the problem is the genre of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it isn't like a typical superhero movie, but is having trouble attracting a wider fanbase. Personally I love it & are happy to see other in the comment section supporting it. P.S. Lady Sif is awesome.
+Sammy Ariel I think the problem is that the genre changes every half season, so it's easy to lose interest. I'll probably stick with it until it ends but I have a lot of friends who dropped it because of the constant change.
+Lizzy Summers while its to bad that lady sif won't be making many appearances on AOS now at least Blindspot is a good show at least I have replacement for person of interest if it gets cancelled after season 5 ☹️
*To anyone wondering if they should watch the show* Watch it! The first half of season one is slow but it's not bad(plus it picks up the pace later on)and from then on with each season it gets better and better. This show actually knows how to progress. Incredible. I wish I had picked it up sooner :)
a simple tip : dont expect there will be much Avengers-ic things in it. what u need to expect is a spionage organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. if u have that mindset, this will be a great series, u can say this is the best mcu series
The moment when you realize that the writers are caught up on the show, but almost all awkward and stupid moments are taken from the first half of the first season.
I think so too. But maybe lest wait since Daniel Richman said some characters might appear again (Coulson, Fitzsimmons, Quake) and he is kinda trusty. I want some "iT's NoT a McU sHoW" jokes
honestly the winter soldier was the best thing that happened to the show it flipped the whole premise on its head and the show adapted really well without that it would just be the first half of season 1 on repeat until it got cancelled
The Winter Soldier wasn't something that came out of nowhere and "saved" the show... the movie had already been written (and probably filmed, mostly if not entirely) before AoS even premiered. Having SHIELD fall was planned from the start, it's just that Marvel made the mistake of thinking viewers would have the patience to wait until big things happened later in Season 1.
I don't know what's so bad about s1, I find it as good as the 2nd. It's fun to see them solve 2-3 cases of paranormal deaths. Reminds me of X Files, mixed with a bunch of spy stuff and (cringey) hacking. And, personally, since I can't care less about the comics, I didn't see the Ward plot coming.
Well I'm pretty sure that comics wouldn't help you see the Ward plot coming? Since he was never in the comics before the TV show came along. Daisy Johnson's boyfriend in the comics was a Hydra double agent, but that wouldn't have meant anything to season 1 viewers since Skye was only revealed to be Daisy Johnson in episode 2.10. I agree that season 1 is actually pretty good. I never thought the early episodes were that bad as people made them out to be, and I found them to be much better on rewatch, where you can see moments that now feel like foreshadowing or that you now interpret in a whole different light ("oh so that's what was really going on..."). There was some mediocre writing, yes, but no more than in a bunch of other shows that don't have that bad reputation. And there was actually quite a lot of arc stuff even early on, as well as comic booky stuff that people claim was missing (Graviton, Scorch, Deathlok) and especially from episode 10 onwards. The only episodes I really dislike are 2 and 15. I thought season 2 was better than season 1 when I first watched it, but on rewatch, I'm not sure which one is better. Season 2 was very intense from start to finish, so on first watch I was like "what will happen next? what will happen next?" from episode 1 to 22. It doesn't have the "spinning wheels until we can start the real story" pacing of early season 1. But season 1, on the other hand, has a much tighter storyline overall, and once you go back and rewatch i,t it all comes along really well, and episodes 16-22 are awesome. Season 2 has a good start and a great middle part, but then the storytelling kind of falls apart towards the end. It has a bunch of plots that eventually go nowhere and get completely forgotten/ignored by the end of the season (like the whole Real SHIELD thing, which was such a huge part of the season, or Simmons' darker development with her obsession with revenge and fear of Inhumans, and some of the plot developments with Ward also seem pretty forced).
arashi.nao The funny thing is, she kind of is but she's somehow better... It's like the writers of the show care about character development for their female characters somehow... Shame a movie studio can't do the same.
I feel like, oddly enough, this review actually proves why the show is GOOD! It has all the limitations that it does and yet it still manages to tell a good story with compelling characters. No, it's not perfection, but man, if I don't love it.
Dillon Foe Most of them are pretty cool, the best are probably the last two Captain America movies, The WInter Soldier and Civil War. Guardians of the Galaxy is much more light-hearted and silly but it's tons of fun, too.
@Lego Yeah, AoS is a network show, while Daredevil is a Netflix show. Cable and streaming generally have better shows than the networks, and HBO and Netflix definitely stand at the very top and win all the Emmys. On top of that, Daredevil is rated TV-MA, so it's dark, grittier, and is written for mature audiences. It's still the best Marvel show ever.
@@carlplayman2962 That's how pretty much every show in existence works except for a few outstanding ones like Breaking Bad that are amazing from the Pilot. How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, Brooklyn 99, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Agents of SHIELD, Black Mirror, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones. All of these shows take a few episodes or half a season to actually get you hooked. That's how it works. Why would you possibly care about a show after just a few episodes when you barely know the characters' names or their backstory or anything else about the show's universe? The characters also lack chemistry between one another during the first season because they haven't found their "groove" yet. Most shows don't even consider the full arc of a character and their potential with fellow cast members until a season or two because even they don't know how it'll evolve. Ultimately, no, you should have to watch a show blindly hoping it gets better, but when people are telling you that is *does* get better, it'd be foolish to immediately dismiss the show just because a few episodes weren't that good. Unless the entire show's premise doesn't really suit you, in which case it'd be fair to stop watching.
Say whatever you want: Phil literally makes the show worth watching. It could just be 40 minutes of him walking out of shadowy corners and telling jokes, and I'd love it. Also, Phil is the best superhero name ever.
+Kyle William Livingston Definitely! But Iain De Caestecker has had some amazing performances in the latest season and continues to do so, he's such a versatile actor and it be wrong to not acknowledge that! :)
Fitz and Simmons are my favourite. i think they're the best actors on the show. Simmons really showed how great she is when she pretty much had to carry an entire episode by herself (the episode where she's on another planet). i do think Fitz gives some of the best performances though. but i love them both.
+Kieran Kelly The performance Iain gave in the last scene of the Season 3 premiere would've been a shoe-in for an Emmy nomination if the Emmy committee wasn't snobby and looked down on genre shows like AoS.
@ Comedy is all about expectations and juxtaposition. All comedy fits into these two broad categories. This was very much just playing off of expectations.
shoulda kept watching, voice guy! season 1 was kinda mediocre but it ended with a bang and it's been one of the best shows out there ever since. cool espionage stuff, surprisingly decent effects, kickass action sequences, interesting plotlines and best of all, it's character driven.
"Epic Voice Guy" does *not* just do this as a stream of consciousness rant, he reads all of this from a script written by the Screen Junkies crew. Just watch a "Honest Trailers Commentaries".
Whatever. Agent Coulson has probably now gotten more screen time than all of the Avengers put together. Edit: Wow, I didn't expect this comment to get 2,200 likes!
Indeed. There is a full list with all MCU characters according to their screen-time. 1st place for Coulson, 2nd for Quake, 3rd for Daredevil. First movie character was around 14th place.
It's 'cause of the mind-control soap. You know, the blue soap everyone uses? HYDRA loads it up with chemicals to implant false memories into our brains. But don't worry, I'm clear. I make my own soap now!
A large portion of the internet about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., in a nutshell: - OMG Grant Ward is so boring and vanilla; (Ward turns evil) OMG I miss good Ward on the team and Skyeward, I hate that they made him evil! - OMG Skye is such a watered-down, cliche character, she's so annoying; (Skye is revealed as Daisy Johnson/Quake) OMG Daisy is so boring, I miss Skye, that's a much better name and she had a cool personality, Daisy is whiny and stupid! - OMG this show has no cool Marvel superheroes, it's all boring agents in suits, who cares?! (AoS adds Mockingbird, Quake, the Secret Warriors, Inhumans, supervillains like Hive, Ghost Rider, etc) OMG, what happened to "not all heroes are super"? I hate all these cheesy superheroes, spies are much cooler, besides it's totally a ratings grab because they're desperate. - OMG, AoS is completely irrelevant to the movies, who cares about this show anyway? Nothing that happens in it has anything to do with the MCU! (AoS has crossovers with pretty much every Marvel movie) OMG, AoS can't stand on its own, it's always riding the coattails of the movies and trying to leech off their popularity, haha! - OMG this show is so cheesy, they're always telling jokes and being silly, it feels like a Saturday morning cartoon! (AoS becomes way darker with the Winter Soldier crossover) OMG, this show is so boring and dark now, can't you let any of the agents be happy for once? Stop making bad things happen, it's depressing!
This show had so much potential, all they had to do was acknowledge it’s existence on the other end. And to this day it is still more original and compelling than any of the phase 4 shows we have seen so far. I will never get over how this show got screwed
Can you please make an Honest about Season 4 of AOS, because the show is too good to not get the recognition it deserves because of some Season 1 mistakes.
The problem is that ultimately, the point of this channel is to make fun of stuff, so even if they made a Season 4 AoS Honest Trailer they would have to look for bad things about it.
+Mark Hendley Actually I stopped watching after half of season two. Yeah, I know what fanboys have been saying about it getting better after season one, but no, it gets worse
+Rhaegar Thorwald Ohh... We have here two dead people who were tortured and body was cut open and put in place to look like an angel with wings made of the flesh of the person? That's TV-14... "Ohh but wait... their butt crack is showing... we can't have that... " No problem... just put more blood on the bodies to hide that. Source: www.tv.com/shows/hannibal-2012/community/post/hannibal-exclusive-clip-the-scene-that-demanded-butt-cracks-full-o-blood-video-137962895012/
Yes well this is the US; the place where they would debate showing sex on cable but be fine with a man having his head sawed off on the same channel. Seriously bizarre.
I think all the seasons of agents of shield are amazing and that it’s sooo underrated. Also the actors like Clark Gregg , Ming na wen, Chloe Bennet , Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker and Brett dalton are all amazing actors
Fitz!! All the love for Fitz!! One of the best written characters on TV today. His breakdown at the end of season 3 episode 1 is worthy of an Emmy award.
+Ryan “Acidhedz” Murphy He's breakdown was most likely due in part to his hypoxia brain injury from the previous seasons; common symptoms are mood swings and anger.
I love it too. But I can understand, why people feel dubious about it. I saw all the series in row, so it was cool for me, but to have an episode once a week might have felt slow etc.
I've done a full rewatch of the first 4 seasons in the last 2 weeks and I am here to say without a doubt, season 1 is the most consistent, well-planned, and thoroughly enjoyable season... two of my favorite episodes are FZZT and TRACKS, both from season 1. The only episode in s1 that I don't really like is Yes Men. I remember my only problem with the season when it aired was that I didn't like always love Skye much... OH HOW I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH MORE NOW. And rewatching you see all the clues... And the themes were so poignant, friendship and family, teamwork, putting trust and loyalty in the right people.... The characters are being introduced to the audience and thrown together and learning how to work... it's your standard Whedonesque Misfit Family, but it also gives the audience a glimpse that they are part of a very large Paranormal Espionage Agency works while reducing it down to one small team of the best people... who are in fact, just people doing whatever they can. And you an clearly see each character going through their arcs... the clearest, perhaps being the way Fitz realizes and accepts he's in love with Simmons, but can't find a way to tell her. That being said for comparison... -s2, for me, is the worst... not at all bad, but it lacks in a lot of consistent character work... sure, they do well to draw a lot of parallels (for instance fitzsimmons/huntingbird/maydrew + divorce and reconnection), but lacks in some consistency from episode to episode showing a person's attitude. it feels stuffed and a bit inconsistent... but every episode is solid, though mostly blur together. -s3 had me so excited, up until a Space Rando named Will popped up and took things in a less exciting direction ... there were also problem with consistency in that plot, but still gave some great scenes for acting, if not always where I would have gone with the characters OR plot. Hive was.... an interesting villain at least. And Daisy and Mack and Hunter all grow on you so much. It lacked some of the resolution I would have liked. -s4... I finished it yesterday and I am still too exhausted to sort out all the brilliance and stupidity and pain and beauty and confusion of season 4... It's a very decent strong start that dwindles a bit, then promptly turns into an absolutely wild ride with amazing developments, and some fascinating concepts that I've written PAGES AND PAGES of various meta about... but a few things were taken a bit too far (non-con A.I.D.A. and eFramework Fitz) and it's REALLY REALLY HARD to watch... a bit lacking in the "happy fitzsimmons" department and actually ends very painfully for fitzsimmons which is also very painful for me since they're my faves. -s5 so far has been amazing...almost flawless. the only things I've not loved were the acting of the Main Villain Kreep and the episode or two where no one mentioned FItz like at all. Oh and one joke that was really insensitive (HUNTER).
RobynAC I love every season. The people who usually don't watch it are those that expected major cameos from Avengers All the time. The same people who didn't watch Gotham cause no batman at first etc
One correction, Winter Soldier did not pull out the rug from under the show or blow up the premise, Winter Soldier was what the whole first season was built around. This is marvel, they knew from day one that they wanted things to go in that direction and if anything hurt the show then that it had to wait for Winter Soldier to come out and thus couldn't do a lot of the really interesting stuff early on. The Winter Soldier tiwst is what made the show, not what broke it.
So... This guy praises the Flash, even though (According to what I've heard) it repeats itself A LOT, and yet he doesn't like Agents of SHIELD even though the show has taken a lot of risks over the course of its five seasons and done new things with each season?
I've seen the flash, arrow, Legends of Tommorow, Supergirl, and all but one season of the Netflix marvel series, and only two of them are almost as good. The flash and the entire CW roster is repetitive and crappy, and the Netflix shows are slow, AoS does it better than all of them with a ring budget, and it has some of the best acting of the tv shows mentioned
@@mari2099. haven't seen legion, but Daredevil, no matter how entertaining, has too much empty periods without tension, you can tell that half of the show is filled conversations, and even if a lot of that makes it better, it still has parts of that where it's not interesting
I never got into AOS.. but just finished all the Netflix/Marvel series and said..what the hell..ill watch 1 episode and just bail out if it sucks.. I binged season 1 ..this show is fkin FANTASTIC.
+Autmn Toney it is a spy show with "superhero elements". Daisy, Lincoln, Elena & Joey were/are agents/"spies". AoS is not a superhero show like Flash, Arrow, Supergirl.
Exactly, and a lot of viewers wouldn't have disliked it this much if they came in with the right expectations. This was never about the Avengers showing up every other week. It's about the spies who assist them from the shadows.
It's spi-fi show (spies and superhero stuff). Agents of Shield has a lot of superheroes, for example two main roles are Quake and Mockingbird, in the comics they both were members of the Avengers, in the show are also others heroes from Marvel comics- Deathlok, Ghost Rider, Slingshot, Hellfire, Lash and some others, they even have villains from comics- Mr Hyde, Hive, Blizard, Graviton and some others
I VERY rarely get into tv shows. The only reason i started watching agents of shield was because it was marvel. But holy shit, its the best damn thing ive ever seen. Don't listen to everyone else, i do agree that the first half the first season isnt the most interesting, its just setting up for alot of the characters. I promise you the show gets really good, each episode had me so locked in. its a must watch
Episode 6 is pretty awesome, yes, and I'd say that's where the show gets better and really starts coming along. Not that the previous 5 didn't have really good stuff in them too.
I absolutely looooove this show! Ever since from the beginning! Not gonna lie, I almost cried from laughing so much! The fact that this video covered about the budget and the fact that it's a show, meaning the story has to be stretched on, really means a lot to me. As a film student, I have a lot of respect for this show.
What the heck? That's the most disrespectful thing I've heard all day! Have you even watched it? When your talking about movies and TV shows there is no girl shows and boy shows!
I don't care what anyone else thinks. I love this show. While I stopped watching it after the first 2 weeks, I bought it on blu-ray and binge watched it all. It's really great.
+Tom Sproson I love it as well. Probably has the best character progression of any of the comic book shows. Pretty much none of the characters are how they were when they first started.
Agents of SHIELD has gotten better. Season 1 was not very good I'll admit. But season 2 and 3 and what we have so far of 4 is amazing- especially season 4.
Ok...but the silent emoting IS SO GOOD THOUGH?!?! I think it shows how good these actors are if they are able to express so much without actually speaking. So many of those little smiles or nods or stern looks made me love the characters so much more. It makes the relationships more real somehow
I have really grown to love agents of shield. Yeah the first season is pretty much the "worst" property in the mcu but season 2 and 3 upped the ante by doing something the movies weren't doing. Dealing with the inhumans and hive. It wasn't until season 3 that the characters met a threat that felt earned and appropriate. Say what you want about the marble movies but the Ward/Hive hybrid was a way better villain than the vast majority of villains in the movies. And now that they brought ghost rider onboard for season 4 they now also have recognizable characters to work with. I think this season with the aded grit can make more people see what a clever and genuinely good show it has grown to be.
On this last season (7 I think?) on the last three episodes I was just waiting for the people who aren't there in the... flashfowards? To turn to dust because they stinkin NAME DROPPED Infinity War like three episodes from the end and have done nothing about it and so my timeline in my head is all messed up now. Thanks AoS...
As the only person in my entire life that watches and is a fan of this show, I found this hilarious. Also this show is amazing considering how ignored and shoved to the side it is. I wish the movies would acknowledge their existence just once.
@@_somerandomguyontheinternet_ updating u on this, the new Dr Strange movie is related to what happens in WandaVision, which means that even this show was less shoved to the side than AoS
i think i get it now… agents of shield is the perfect scifi tv show. they have a decent season 1 so you can get used to the characters then it ends with a fantastic tie in with the movies, and from then on it hits all the points a show needs. they've got the superpowered people with the inhumans, then there's also cool spy stuff, fight scenes and some badass non inhumans aka may and bobbi. then theres also the humanized nerdy awkward fitzsimmons who everyone loves because you can't not they're adorable. you've got the parental figures to pretty much everyone aka coulson and may. there's emotional scenes to show that the characters are human and go through things too. they actually kill people permanently (ahem mcu) for really tragic stories and fallouts. there's ships or romancey stuff that lasts for more than five minutes so you can get attached to the characters and want them to be together. annnnnnddd to top it all off there are some strong female characters who kick ass with the guys, which the movies seriously lack. and there. your perfect tv show. marvel really got it right on this one.
Don't forget a kickass roster of villains and antagonists. Garret, Ward, Cal, Hive, Sarge, Aida, Radcliffe, all of them great characters developed not just to be villains but actual characters in their own rights with complex motivations, goals, and emotions that challenge the agent's worldviews.
Ikr...they are like "the writing and acting sucks" then "oh, just Ghost rider, get rid of everyone else" ...excuse me? the writing and acting hadn't changed, the new character is just as awesome as the old ones!
That's what happens when you care more about the names/costumes/powers of the characters on screen than how well they and the storyline are written and presented. I wouldn't be surprised if the same people saying this stuff enjoyed Batman v Superman.
The best show that has ever been made, I'm on my second time watching the series and it is still interesting to me. You have to watch it through the first season before it gets to be a great show, but the last episodes of season 1 are good. There is no one like Phil Coulson. R. I. P.
Too bad that Ward turned out to be a psycho. I was really rooting for him and Daisy...until he killed the adorable guy from Ratatouille. Then I rooted for Lincoln and Daisy. Poor girl really is freakin cursed.
I miss Ward as a bad guy (he was really good and had a good dynamic with the team). also, you just made me happy! Lincoln is either dead or evil? Awesome, never liked him! (i'm mid-season 3)
***** no, i dont want you to tell me, but i got really happy. He's just a love interest, he literally had no other role and that annoyed the crap out of me!
Lindsay Mead Skye is one of the most annoying characters I've seen in a TV show. The rest of the cast is good but whenever she is on screen the shop quality drops. Ward was a fantastic character though.
+francois strydom This show is... ok. It went from "kind of bad" to "pretty watchable" once the whole Hydra infiltration plot started, but I don't know if I'd go much farther than that.
+francois strydom I also like this show, but I wonder what it is about every genre show, that they always start out rough for the first season or 2? (farscape, buffy, anything from star trek, etc) About the only exception seems to be battlestar galactica. Anyway, I figured out a viewing order for getting through season 1 if anyone wants to give the show a shot. I recommend episodes 1, 3, 5, 7,8, then all from 10 onwards. That skips alot of the early filler episodes, while keeping continuity. That said, this show is pretty great these days, and despite all the references, I think if definitely stands on it's own now, apart from the movies.
+francois strydom It's gone from "okay" to "good" to "one of the best shows on TV". And once you reach that last stage, you have realized that "okay" and "good" were actually at least "great".
I’m a MCU movie/ comics fan, but I had only seen the movies. I knew about Aos but I never truly cared nor bothered to watch it. Quarantine happened. And I am in love with this show, it gets better every season
Seriously though, this show has gotten SO GOOD. Just pretend all the eps before Winter Soldier doesn't exist. Everything after is really really incredible. It's so true though, wish the movie universe would acknowledge this show a bit more. With the time they have to come up with all these eps compared to the time they have to shot one movie, this show is damn good.
To understand episodes 16,17 you must know episodes 10-15. I would advise to not skip anything. Something may feel like a filler at first glimpse but turns out to be important later. Like episode 1x03 is really important for season 5 or episode 1x02 has something important which played key role a few times during whole show. I know that first half of season 1 was slow but... THERE IS LITERALLY NO FILLER ON AGENTS OF SHIELD
+Corey Watford From the youtube channel that brought you Honest Trailers ... and a bunch of other shows you probably don't watch ... comes the parody so clever ... that they only changed two letters in the title ....
The biggest mistake you'll ever make with this show is giving up on this show. Stopping half way through season 1 is exactly when it starts to get good. I am so glad I didn't give up with this series. Season 2 has been amazing so far and I love that it ties in very nicely with the movies. Honestly I like this show more than Jessica Jones. Not sure why people are in love with Jessica Jones so much. It was a tad bit boring, it was good but not daredevil good.
+Madez Totally agree. Wait till you see the shit that goes down in Season 2. And the beginning of Season 3 is really good too. Honestly, if you rank the marvel shows, it would go Daredevil A.O.S Agent Carter/Jessica Jones Honestly I was not impressed by Jessica Jones much at all. I think it's overrated because everyone was already prepared to praise Marvel's Netflix universe. That said David Tennant is great in it, but Jessica's sister's boyfriend kind of ruins the show a bit.
+Madez Jessica Jones is good in it's own ways but more like a stand alone TV show, if you like all the gimmicky tie ins and cross references Agents of SHIELD is so much more fun to watch
when you understand they basically had to stretch some things out in season one to accommodate the drop of winter soldier, it helps to get through the first 9-10 episode grind.

The framework ark is among the best seasons of any show out there. The quality of every episode just demands that you watch one more. You cant let it go. Big fan of this show
I would say season 4 is probably my favorite. Season 1 is my second favorite. And the last one my third favorite.

Yep! Season 1 was spoiled by the stretching due to the delay of Cap America 2.
S1-3 is a bit slow but once you get through them you can’t look away. S4-7 are incredible and it sucks that so many people miss out because they let themselves be put off by the first seasons
Never made it to half way of the first series.

@Vincent H. I liked all seasons except the Quake's parents (2nd half of 2nd season) and 3rd season (I think that was when Ward turned into the alien) because they were messy.Other than that, the last few seasons got me a little confused with the time-travel stuff, but they were still enjoyable.
This needs to be updated. This last season was AMAZING!! Between Ghost Rider, the Darkhold and the introduction of LMDs, they're on FIRE!!

@@kaitlynb491 Agents of Shield was renewed for season 7 though!
NightLove I was talking about the Netflix Shows
Meanwhile Agents of Shield is renewed for both a sixth and seventh season, while all the Netflix shows are being cancelled. Shield is an amazing show and a really interesting way to continue in the MCU. After the Winter Soldier you can go down the "Thanos storyline route" or the "Agents of Shield" route, it's a really nice duo watch.
Me experiencing this show:
First half of season 1: meh, I'm bored.
Just wow.
Kiei Luahi underrated comment
Agreed, 100%! Such an amazing show.
Yep. My process exactly. Thanks. I had no intention of watching past first half until so many people told me to just try it again
Yeah I love aos
Agreed!
The show no one seemed to care about, wounded up becoming the last Marvel show standing and after seven seasons, it is now having its series finale.
I'm crushed about that. I'd have loved for that one to go on for a few more seasons.

Wasn't Helstrom the last one?
@@Christian39521 Now it is. I’m shocked you remembered Helstrom.
And now we have disney plus with better shows, btw daredevil is way better than this
You can’t get character development that is as good anywhere else than in Agents of Shield.
The first 4 seasons were so good, but fell apart when they started taking the universe they exist in seriously.
you really dont know how much i love this comment

Exactly! My one real issue is the Agent 33 C story from Season 2. Felt forced and entirely unnecessary, just so Ward could do something

+satay71 first half of season 1 was just plain bad
+Greg Brandr It was bad, but it got a dorky feeling emulating Get smart, that i liked. But yeah, it was bad.
+satay71 Half way through Season 1 was when it finally got somewhat good.
I mean it's not like the last few seasons haven't been dark 😁

Marvel Netflix shows:
Excelent - Daredevil Seasons 1 and 3
Ok - Daredevil season 2, Jessica Jones season 1, The Punisher Seasons 1 and 2
Average at best - The Defenders, Luke Cage Season 1
Bad - All the rest
looking back at it now people kinda did the same with Wanda vison when it was just starting, just needed to build up the plots
Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD is some of the best sci-fi TV I have ever seen tbh.
For me, Agents of SHIELD pretty much sews the MCU together & makes it 3-dimensional. I love this show
yeah, same :)
Totally agree. It handles to make sense of many things in the MCU. I love it.
Exactly! Without it "everything is connected" would just be an empty phrase.
You guys made a really good Honest Trailers..But..Agents of Shield IS one of Marvels best television series hands down. It wouldn’t have lasted as long as it has if it wasn’t. Cheers!
it is their worst television series. Its nowhere near the Netflix series, and the Fox Xmen series are far superior too.
Agent Carter was good.
I think the problem is the genre of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it isn't like a typical superhero movie, but is having trouble attracting a wider fanbase. Personally I love it & are happy to see other in the comment section supporting it.
P.S. Lady Sif is awesome.
Don't expect lady sif back in AOS anytime soon 😢 the actress is in Blind spot now
Ah damn, I remember seeing that advertised but it hasn't made it's way from Sky for me to watch it yet.
+FOXCYBORGNINJA but Blindspot is amazing so even if I'd love to see her on AoS I'm ok with her new show xD
*To anyone wondering if they should watch the show*
Watch it! The first half of season one is slow but it's not bad(plus it picks up the pace later on)and from then on with each season it gets better and better. This show actually knows how to progress. Incredible. I wish I had picked it up sooner :)

honestly the winter soldier was the best thing that happened to the show it flipped the whole premise on its head and the show adapted really well
without that it would just be the first half of season 1 on repeat until it got cancelled
If winter soldier didn't happen, AoS would had "a better season 1.
"Not-tasha Romanoff" the internet seems to collectively agree that May is Black Widow 2.0 and quite honestly I laugh every time XD
arashi.nao The funny thing is, she kind of is but she's somehow better... It's like the writers of the show care about character development for their female characters somehow... Shame a movie studio can't do the same.

I shouldn't have to watch a show because it "eventually" gets better

Highest rated Marvel show on Rotten Tomatoes. I'd say it isn't underrated but it is under-watched. More people need to watch it. It's worth it.

- OMG Grant Ward is so boring and vanilla; (Ward turns evil) OMG I miss good Ward on the team and Skyeward, I hate that they made him evil!
Thank you for your analogy on the average human mind, Dr.Slingblade87. Your comment is underrated and deserves more likes.
You both do. Here ya go guys :)
I like your objective overview expressed with humor. love
Slingblade87 marvel can get rid of this and concentrate more on the Netflix shows😎😎
that is almost the whole fandom perfectly explained in perfect comment. cheers, mate.
"Now featuring: dead skull walking, I can't believe it's not Ultron, Captain Roid Rage, and Clone-ig."

IT SUCKED!
+Undead Princess and you swallowed
agents of shield is actually a pretty solid show with good writing, acting, and action if you enjoy a spy show set in a superhero world.
Yea, it's good.
Writing: it's cheesy. It's like they're writing for five-year-olds
acting: the acting skill of a middle school skit.
so what else ya got
The acting isn't that bad
+Bilbo Took let me guess you didn't even finish the first season huh?
+Mark Hendley Actually I stopped watching after half of season two. Yeah, I know what fanboys have been saying about it getting better after season one, but no, it gets worse
Now that I actually think about it, isn’t the whole MCU “protection, protocol and ridiculous holograms”!

Blame our media. We're trying to fix it.
Yes well this is the US; the place where they would debate showing sex on cable but be fine with a man having his head sawed off on the same channel. Seriously bizarre.
So you CAN do a trailer for Arrow? YESSSS!
or the Flash!
omg yes arrow
Or gotham
+sendtherain So greedy!! Someday maybe.
si por favor
Season 1 kills it for 90% people and they never get to the Season 2 and 3 which are actually great !
I love season one, two, and three best.
The nerds get hurt so 2 & 3 suck
I love 2 and 4. 80% of 5 is too fake for me, but I'll still love it.
And then GHOST RIDER!!!
I mostly like season 2. (Bobbi and Hunter are amazing, and skye/daisy/quake and a bunch more names gets her powers.

+Petra Sphinx & Simmons should get an Emmy.
His character development is beautiful
It's kinda funny that Fitz was introduced as the computer nerd but he beat more guys than Ward in the entire Season 3 rofl
+Ryan “Acidhedz” Murphy He's breakdown was most likely due in part to his hypoxia brain injury from the previous seasons; common symptoms are mood swings and anger.
I must be the only person that loves season 1
Me Too
you are not. It's my favorite besides 4
Fitz-Simmons is the best tv couple of the 20-teens
Best couple ever.
Nell and Eric from NCIS Los Angeles.
TF2Fan101 See don't hear
Honest Trailers is not just the "Epic Voice Guy" ranting. It is a long running comedy series written by the Screen Junkies crew.
@@lukewhite1249 DD and Legion still beat AoS overall, but the rest fall before SHIELD.
@@mari2099. haven't seen legion, but Daredevil, no matter how entertaining, has too much empty periods without tension, you can tell that half of the show is filled conversations, and even if a lot of that makes it better, it still has parts of that where it's not interesting
Agents of Shield is really underrated tbf, season 4 has been phenomenal
I never got into AOS.. but just finished all the Netflix/Marvel series and said..what the hell..ill watch 1 episode and just bail out if it sucks.. I binged season 1 ..this show is fkin FANTASTIC.
You have seen nothing yet. Season 1 is still the weakest of the show, it just keeps getting better and better.
I binged all 4 seasons...lol ... i cannot wait until the new season.. that show is INCREDIBLE.
I have binged 98 episodes so far, as well as every Marvel movie, over the course of this year. Agents of SHIELD is simply amazing
I hope you guys do an updated version of this Honest Trailer
Cant believe how good this show is right now! best series out there!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't a superhero show,it's an espionage show
thank you :)
Have you watched it throughly bc with Quake and Lincoln and Yo-Yo and Joey, I would argue that it's a bit of both
+Autmn Toney it is a spy show with "superhero elements".
Agent of Shield is a truly great show. Season 4 has been amazing!
I came very close to stop watching midway through season 1. So glad I stuck with it. Maybe my favorite series ever. I'm sad it's over.
I VERY rarely get into tv shows. The only reason i started watching agents of shield was because it was marvel. But holy shit, its the best damn thing ive ever seen. Don't listen to everyone else, i do agree that the first half the first season isnt the most interesting, its just setting up for alot of the characters.
I promise you the show gets really good, each episode had me so locked in. its a must watch
yeah it's a must watch :)
if you liked this you will also like The Flash or Arrow.
+Emre Kaya Flash and Arrow are complete shit compared to AoS
Once you more better you'll know the difference.
What do you mean?
The show is actually really good, you just have to get past the first few episodes.
are you irish?
Wolfness Prime no...
ill give it another try then
True. I had to get to episode 6 to actually enjoy it.
Johnny Skinwalker i actually cant believe how easily some people get offended these days 😂
“these british scientists who are completely interchangeable until they send one to space and give the other one bRAIN DAMAGE” I CANT BREATHE LMFAO
SHIELD in my opinion is one of the best shows ever made.
Youre totally right
Me too!
No
Slow your row there buddy. Good but not that good
sad they're ending it
I don't care what anyone else thinks. I love this show. While I stopped watching it after the first 2 weeks, I bought it on blu-ray and binge watched it all. It's really great.
+Tom Sproson Yeah. I love the show too.
+Tom Sproson I love it as well. Probably has the best character progression of any of the comic book shows. Pretty much none of the characters are how they were when they first started.
+Tom Sproson I think it actually has more plausible writing than any other superhero show on TV.
Agents of SHIELD has gotten better. Season 1 was not very good I'll admit. But season 2 and 3 and what we have so far of 4 is amazing- especially season 4.
Oh no, I loved the mid season plot twist in season 1!!
Odd, s4 is my least favorite so far.
i'm not enjoying season 3. Lincoln is a character who feels like he should die and Ward died... and oddly enough, i miss him
AIDA is creepy as hell. I love her.
my least fav is s1
Ok...but the silent emoting IS SO GOOD THOUGH?!?! I think it shows how good these actors are if they are able to express so much without actually speaking. So many of those little smiles or nods or stern looks made me love the characters so much more. It makes the relationships more real somehow
this was funny but agents of shield is amazing way better than any of the netflix show s and daisy is frikin awsome but i love the humour in this tho
Daredevil is probably the slightly better show but I just like aos more.
@Lego I personally think Daredevil is better but AoS is definitely a close second. Plus I love both shows so much.
Fenix productions I loved the first season, it had mystery and humour and good Ward. My favourite season
Fenix productions I love this show so much!!!!!
You haven’t seen the inhumans tv show if you think season 1 of aos is the worst they got
19-22 happen during infinity war before the snap
also its season 5, not 7...
As the only person in my entire life that watches and is a fan of this show, I found this hilarious. Also this show is amazing considering how ignored and shoved to the side it is. I wish the movies would acknowledge their existence just once.
Welp, the Disney+ ones don’t seem to be either... (something, something, WandaVision Darkhold)
Dammit Feige I love you man but share your toys!
Garret, Ward, Cal, Hive, Sarge, Aida, Radcliffe, all of them great characters developed not just to be villains but actual characters in their own rights with complex motivations, goals, and emotions that challenge the agent's worldviews.
damn straight it does
Everyone says Agents of Shield sucks until a guy with a flaming head walks in. Whatever. The true fans know who they are
I have never said it sucks. It is awesome :).
I've also watched the new season and understand once again why I've been turning the channel once more.
D. Va X why?
We lost it at "Buffy."
+Geek & Sundry Mission accomplished. Reporting back to base. :)
+Screen Junkies do prison break next

If you're doing the Marvel TV shows now, do the DC ones too.
Do The Flash!
+HoddTodd
And Arrow
And DC's Legends of Tomorrow
And Gotham
And Supergirl
And Constantine.
Maverick Arrow sucks so hopefully it'll make for a funny trailer
+Maverick Yeah, let's do an honest trailer for a show with one episode. Great idea.
+HoddTodd it's not that bad. Not as good as the Flash but still decent.
+patrick82895 Gotham season 2 is great
The best show that has ever been made, I'm on my second time watching the series and it is still interesting to me.
Sarcastic Duck lol Do you really want me to tell you what goes down? Since you never liked him, it's good news for you lol. I cried though lol.
*****
no, i dont want you to tell me, but i got really happy. He's just a love interest, he literally had no other role and that annoyed the crap out of me!
Well, a lot of us had just started to like him when he went out.....
Lindsay Mead Skye is one of the most annoying characters I've seen in a TV show. The rest of the cast is good but whenever she is on screen the shop quality drops. Ward was a fantastic character though.
I watched the entire 3rd season in 2 days simply because of this vudeo
Video
+Besserwerdenimtryharden did you like it?
+Kyle William Livingston yes xD
+Besserwerdenimtryharden :)
+Besserwerdenimtryharden Nice grammar there.
I started watching the show this weekend. halfway through season 1 now and I still like it xD
How far are you know?
Strap in for a wild ride, my friend... it only gets better from that point onward.
almost done with season 2. Still like it :D
Rednas. Don't get your hopes up. Its good but not great.
I pity anyone who couldn't push through season 1 because this show got so freaking good since then xD
Yeah
No, it didn't
@@tjazeajn8028 uhhhhh it did, it went to another level
Season 2 was the shit yo!
yep
Yup, it was shit
Miles Martin get out.
ye and Season 3 looks like it's even better
+Miles Martin leave
I dont care. This show is fantastic.
+Ben Dover Maybe if you just stood up for once...
*guffaw, snort*
+francois strydom agreed
And once you reach that last stage, you have realized that "okay" and "good" were actually at least "great".
we need an honest trailer for the flash and/or arrow now
+Jui Brand
ARROW!!!!!
Yeah buddy (tosses u a cold beer) good shit!
I was just about to leave the same comment!
+Jui Brand and do constantine or hellblazer trailer
yeah definitely. they're both so bad but good as well
I’m a MCU movie/ comics fan, but I had only seen the movies. I knew about Aos but I never truly cared nor bothered to watch it.
Quarantine happened.
And I am in love with this show, it gets better every season
If you have watched all the seasons. How would you rate them?
Am i the only one...
That liked season 1 ALOT?
Ruby Croxton i like season 1
No
I liked it
Nope I loved it
Started rewatching it recently and I still like it. The later seasons are better, but that doesn't make season 1 bad.
am i the only one that was hooked from episode one and i still love the show
yep
+David Jimenez I wouldn't say hooked, I just never stopped watching it
Definitely gets better as you go along
I was hooked from episode one too.

+PC Principal unearned stares are probably the unspoken reason it's boring
Screen Junkies This video was stunning and brave.
Probably my favourite show ever, not enough people have seen this masterpiece
Seriously though, this show has gotten SO GOOD. Just pretend all the eps before Winter Soldier doesn't exist. Everything after is really really incredible. It's so true though, wish the movie universe would acknowledge this show a bit more. With the time they have to come up with all these eps compared to the time they have to shot one movie, this show is damn good.
everything is connected, there is so much foreshadowing in those early episode. it's awesome.
Can't wait for the Interns of F.I.E.L.D's Honest Trailer
Same here, though I know its a
long shot
+Corey Watford My thoughts! :)
+Corey Watford We all know that wouldn't really be "honest"
+Corey Watford From the youtube channel that brought you Honest Trailers ... and a bunch of other shows you probably don't watch ... comes the parody so clever ... that they only changed two letters in the title ....
If enough of you actually watch it then maybe 😉 @andysignore
The biggest mistake you'll ever make with this show is giving up on this show. Stopping half way through season 1 is exactly when it starts to get good. I am so glad I didn't give up with this series. Season 2 has been amazing so far and I love that it ties in very nicely with the movies.
Honestly I like this show more than Jessica Jones. Not sure why people are in love with Jessica Jones so much. It was a tad bit boring, it was good but not daredevil good.
+Madez Totally agree. Wait till you see the shit that goes down in Season 2. And the beginning of Season 3 is really good too. Honestly, if you rank the marvel shows, it would go
Daredevil
A.O.S
Agent Carter/Jessica Jones
Honestly I was not impressed by Jessica Jones much at all. I think it's overrated because everyone was already prepared to praise Marvel's Netflix universe. That said David Tennant is great in it, but Jessica's sister's boyfriend kind of ruins the show a bit.
+Wasabifold i actually meant to say season 3 has been amazing. I've up to date with this show.
Madez Oh. Season 2 as well was awesome. Like I'm really excited for the Inhumans movie because of what the show has done with it. Really phenomenal.
+Madez Jessica Jones is good in it's own ways but more like a stand alone TV show, if you like all the gimmicky tie ins and cross references Agents of SHIELD is so much more fun to watch
Goddamn right it's a great show 😤
when you understand they basically had to stretch some things out in season one to accommodate the drop of winter soldier, it helps to get through the first 9-10 episode grind.
You need those first episodes to show what the characters lost. The innocence, the effortless happiness, the low stakes...
