    I just ordered the 24mm Timber Wolf. I like the blue handle on them. I prefer the synthetics, not only for their value and quality, but no animals are "harvested" for them.

    You don’t need to hang out a synthetic brush to dry like a badger, horse hair or boar brush. If you rinse it well, shake off the excess water, and rub it vigorously against a dry towel, the brush will dry very quickly. I also have a 26 mm Yaqi synthetic brush and love it. I store it on a small towel inside my bathroom drawer and it works well.

    I got a Yaqi brush over a year ago and I store it up right. I use the brush 5 days a week, most weeks, and I have not have had any problems with it drying sitting on my bathroom counter.

    Hello Mark I am thinking of buying a Yaqi brush. Which knot would you recommend. I was thinking of 24 to 26 but the Yaqi do a nice 30 knot too.

    • @MarkSzorady
      @MarkSzorady  4 роки тому +2

      Hi, Andrew.:) I like 24 and 26 MM Knots. While the 30MM knot is nice, it's massive! It comes in handy, though, when I want to lather my head for a head shave. It gives me a lot of coverage. for me, the Yaqi 26mm knot seems about right. I have several brushes (other brands) in 24mm knots an these work well, too.:)

      @@MarkSzorady Thank you for your quick reply Mark. I have just ordered a Yaqi synthetic 26 in red marble from Razorus here in Turkey. Just got a mixture of blades from them this morning. I have only been DE shaving for a few weeks. Love your videos. Very informative.

      @@andrewwilson9617 Great to hear that you're doing he traditional wet shave. A couple of things I've learned form personal experience: As I always say in my videos, "30 degrees, a light touch, let the razor do all the work, gentlemen." I gave myself a few weeks to allow my skin and face to adapt to the process. And I found using an alum block in my post shave routine to be invaluable. I apply it and leave it on. If you find it dries out your skin a bit from leaving it on, simply apply, wait for 20-30 seconds, then rinse off. HTH.:) Thanks gain for the kind words.:)

    Hi Mark, How does the red and white handle tuxedo compare to the Viking's white knight in feel, backbone etc.. What do you prefer or find yourself using more?

    • @MarkSzorady
      @MarkSzorady  5 років тому +1

      I like the White Knight a lot. It has more backbone than the Ferrari and the hairs, while soft, have a little bit of tooth to them. So, I like how it gives just a bit more exfoliation of the skin. It also lifts the whiskers a bit more.:) This exfoliation happens mostly while doing a face lather. Lathering with cream (painting on the lather), it's as soft as any badger or boar I've used.:)
      The Ferrari is a good brush and very soft. But, like most synthetics, when doing a face lather, there is a bit of a battle in getting the hairs to splay out. I'ts not a major obstacle or hindrance, but the White Knight and other Vikings Blade synthetic brushes, due to the shape of their knots, do a better job of splaying out while face lathering. This is why I always start a face lather on the point of my chin. It helps to open the brush hairs up and out.
      HTH.:)

    Mark, which would you say is a better knot? Tuxedo like vs Timberwolf like??

    • @MarkSzorady
      @MarkSzorady  6 років тому +2

      I like the Tuxedo knot in the Ferrari.:) However, I have a few brushes with the Tuxedo knot, so lately, I'm partial to it.:) the tuxedo knot has a bit more backbone and snappiness to it.:) It face lathers very well and has nice flow-through to paint on lather.:)
      I used the Timberwolf just this morning for my shave and it did a nice job.:) No complaints at all.:) But, yeah, the tuxedo knot has the edge, IMHO.:)
      Looking at the three Yaqi brushes I now own, two of them have Tuxedo knots.:) so, I guess that says something.:)

    In your opinion, which one is better? yaqi or simpson T3?

    • @MarkSzorady
      @MarkSzorady  3 роки тому +1

      The T3 is quite good but the shape and size is so different form the Yaqi. I certainly would take the Yaqi over the T2 due to the size. the T2 is fine for travel, and some might favor it for a daily driver, but for me, it's the T3. I'd say the T3 stands up quite well next to the Yaqi brushes. It's simply a different handle and knot, so difficult to say which one is better.
