Watch Me Make My First Cutting Board

- In this video I show you my build of my first ever end grain cutting board. I went with the checkerboard pattern. This was my first time working with hard woods and my first cutting board. I had so much fun learning how to do this, and fixing my mistakes that I have continued making edge grain and face grain cutting boards since.
If you liked watching the process and would like to see an instructional series on cutting boards, let me know in the comments!

Yea l live in the Salt Lake Valley I will check at that store thanks again.
Very cool
Thanks Brian with an I!
I really enjoyed the high quality video, great information, really nice shop & tools. Great editing, ALMOST a fabulous video. Get a clip on microphone so your voice doesn't echo so badly.
Thank you so much for the kind words and good feedback. I agree entirely on the clip on mic. I need to invest in a good wireless one.
Fellow Utahn here, 👍🏼👍🏼 enjoyed the video!
Thank you for the kind words! I enjoyed making it!
Great video! Look forward to others!
Thanks, Scott!
Hey can I ask were do you get your walnut and maple wood at? My wife watched this and now thinks I should make her one, lol thanks....
@@scott14862 are you in Utah? I got them from MacBeath Hardwood in Salt Lake City. Check with local lumber dealers to see if they have hardwoods
“I usually build Chen coops”, “it’s the very first time I’ve worked with hardwoods”… says the dude with a SawStop and a cnc lol.
The walnut on both ends…I was like noooooooooooo in slow motion, then realized it was a video and not real life lol.
Great video brother! Board looks great!
Save some money and get mineral oil if gallons from Amazon or from the pharmacy…same exact food grade stuff for a lot less ( looked like that board could have used a bit more). Also get some beeswax and make your own board butter.
:)
