  • Really tough start to the flight. Struggled for 30 min mostly below launch.
Caught up with Gavin just before CDA ID. Really fun to get some turns with him. I got slow around CDA then we met up again near Hayden ID. He was low. He landed not long after near home :-)
Saw some building clouds to the NW of me near Bonners Ferry. I think the Canadian border would have been possible. (I've been close before) Opted to land early. Glad I did.
It got ugly just as we were leaving.

What a SPECTACULAR flight. I wonder how many on the ground bothered to look up and see you along the way; and would they be able to grasp how you got there and how far away you were from where you started, AND all that with no engine in an aircraft you can carry on your shoulder? And NE Washington is simply beautiful and even moreso when populated with lifty cumies. And what other sport is there where you can lie down most of the time and enjoy views like this and take the mental brainpower of playing chess, with the millions of decisions and observations you must make along the way? AND hats off to your driver who is a seriously competent chase crew, navigator and photographer and editor. Keep the awesome coming and stay safe.

Thank you. I doubt very many ever look to the sky. We would have more pilots if the did!
It's very amazing what can be done. One wrong move and its over.
I will pass along the "hats off" to her. She is incredible! Loves the chase, sad when its not far. Really makes it easier to go big knowing she will be there. Even if it ends up being really late!
      More to come soon.

It looks like you're pretty tuned into that VQR! Nice job working up from launch. I hoped one of the dirt fields at Bonners Ferry would have kicked off for you, but it seems like you maxed out the day. Sweet landing!

I could have kept going. The storm clouds ibn the photos were a bit closer and bigger in real life. After breaking and leaving it arrived over top. To the N where I would have been was outflow wind and some rain. Happy to be on the ground. There will be another day :-)

The Atos tracks really nicely in a thermaling turn. When you high side in a flex wing it drags the outside wing tip. The Atos doesn’t do that. I can see why you love it so much.

Yes on all accounts. It really flies so amazing.
Very fortunate to have one. So many don't know what they're missing out on

Fantastic flight ! Yeah, you really had to work that bowl until a boomer showed up. Good job nailing it ! Those Q's were popping everywhere. Made for a nice cross-country freeway ! What was the altitude at cloud base ? Always been fascinated with Atos design. Glad to see them in US. Thanks for taking us along for the ride ! Hit the Subscribe and smashed the Like button !

Thanks! Yes, it seemed like I was one turn away from going to the LZ. We do get some great looking clouds.
Normally you can find a link to the track log in the video description area. Cloudbase was roughly 10,000'
They are really great to fly, spoilerons, flaps and a tail, makes it very nice, especially on the rough days.
Thats great! Glad you enjoyed happy to take you along on the next as well.

Welcome . I wish you a good future. What is the name of this plane? Where can I get it? Can you make a video explaining how to fly? Or learning to fly.

Thank you. It is an Atos VQ, made in Germany. It flies just like a hang glider.
