This must be one of the greatest performances of one of the greatest operas of all time. It just gets better and better. The 2nd disc in the series is magical. It took me some time to appreciate the wonders of Ulisse after the instant attractions of Orpheo and The Coronation of Poppaea but Ulisse is a journey, more a pilgrimage.
Grazie lucas maias per aver condiviso questa straordinaria edizione dell’ Ulisse diretta da Garrido che a mio parere è senz’altro una delle migliori in circolazione , ma mi chiedo ‘perché non pubblicare anche il secondo cf?
Belle interprétation qui apparemment ne retient pas l'attention des internautes - c'est le moins qu'on puisse dire ! Dommage, car la direction d'orchestre de Garrido et l'excellence des solistes ne méritent que des éloges...

...its very difficult to believe that Monteverdi s music was written when people wore ruffs and stretched each other and did not wash for ages...
