- Although these performances were not recorded there, this recording is a good representation of how the Ewing Street Times sounded during their stint as house band at The Flick. Video suggested and music provided by James Alexander. edited by Peter Neff. ©2018
I spent 40+ years trying to get this music back to those who made it. It warms my heart to find people who remember and appreciate it. Thanks
Thank you so much James, have been longing to hear, Guaby, Guaby, and Little Bird. Suzy Harthcock💜🌈
Loved going to the Flick, sipping coffee while groovin' to the sounds of the Ewing St. Times (can't find that song I loved that included, "... and it won't be too long, xxxx, I'm fallin', fallin', fallin' etc.). Also if memory serves correctly Joan Baez, Jimmy Buffett, a comedian named Uncle Dirty or something like that. Iconic place and glad it's still remembered.
The last time I was at the Flick was when I was home on leave in 1969. Dion, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ron Kickasola and Uncle Dirty. I was in there with my mother and one of her schoolteacher friends from Homestead. The hipness level plummeted when the three of us shuffled in.
Yep, Uncle Dirty. He'd say a joke or quip, tug at his zipper and say, "Aarnk aarnk."
wow, down memory lane indeed, one man left standing, my goodness. so glad to hear them all. thank you. suzy 🌈💜🥲
