  • ‪@applelighthouse‬ introduces the new Spider-L Corner Connectors for #led #striplights! These work perfectly with LED #COB #strips to give you a permanent, perfectly lit corner with no dark spots!
    Instructions:
    1. Insert LED striplight into one of the openings on the Spider-L Connector.
Note 1a. The tab should be on the bottom side of the striplight.
Note 1b. The striplight will bottom out at different depths. On one side, the strip will bottom out about halfway into the connector; the other side will bottom out all the way into the connector.
Note 1c. You may leave the double-sided tape on the striplight.
Note 1d. Ensure that the striplight end has bare conductors, and does not have solder beads. If there are solder beads, either cut the strip and use the next available bare end or remove the solder bead with a soldering iron and desolder braid/wick. You may also cut the striplight section and replace it with a bare section with the use of spider connectors.
    2. Hold striplight in place and clamp down on the tab one side at a time with pliers. You should hear a "click" for each side when the tab locks into place.
Note 2a. There are metal teeth inside of the connector that will bite into the striplight.
    3. Insert other LED striplight into the other opening on the Spider-L Connector.
Note 3a. IMPORTANT: the polarity of the second strip must match the polarity of the first one. Example: if the first strip has the positive end on the outside of the corner, then the second strip must also have the positive end on the outside.
    4. Repeat Step 2 with the other side.
    5. Test with appropriate power supply and verify!

This type of striplight is typically called a "COB Striplight". It uses COB (chip-on-board) instead of SMD (surface-mounted-diode), so it's able to pack in many more LEDs and achieve the 'dotless' look. It also offers more even light, better heat distribution, and greater flexibility.
