China Miéville’s award-winning, category-defying fiction blends surreality, fantasy and hard-boiled sociopolitical realism. In his new book “October,” Miéville chronicles the real events of 1917 that shook the world and reverberate today. In the centenary year of the Russian Revolution, Miéville presents his own inimitable perspective on the transformation of an autocratic monarchy into the first socialist state in world history.
China Miéville is the author of many works of fiction and nonfiction and winner of multiple awards, including the Hugo, World Fantasy and Arthur C. Clarke awards. His novels include “Perdido Street Station,” “Embassytown,” and “The City & the City”; his non-fiction includes the photo-illustrated essay “London’s Overthrow” and “Between Equal Rights: A Marxist Theory of International Law.” He has written for various publications, including the New York Times, Guardian, Conjunctions and Granta and he is a founding editor of the quarterly Salvage.

It’s so cool that CM brought up the Intentional Fallacy. Rock on. I love that literary theory.

Good question! The author asked us not to post the reading that proceeded the Q&A. Not sure why, but we're respecting his preferences.
