    Great tip Jeff. I use this drift sock trick on the river also it works great. If a bucket is used large holes should be drilled throughout the bucket. A cat guide I know does that.

      Sorry I didn’t pay attention to the video. I use my little 3’ ones or I just throw out 2 5 gallon buckets that have holes drilled in the bottoms.

    So are you using one drift sock in the middle or two drift socks on each corner?? (When you are anchored & trying to straighten out boat in the wind) and what size, I didn't understand the answer.

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  8 місяців тому

      I use 1 in the middle most times. But if it a heavy wind blowing I have put 2 smaller ones out 1 on each corner

    Couldn't see what you tied the rope to?? Also what size was it 54"?? I think I remember you saying your boat was 25', not sure though.

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  10 місяців тому

      Yea it was a 54” sock. I have a ski rope cleat dead center in the back.

      Now does the rope rub up on engine cover? I think if I installed one my engine cover would be in the way? Just thinking out loud. Your thoughts?@@bowl830

    You said that sometimes you use two drift socks on the corners what size socks are you using??

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  9 місяців тому

      I use a pair of 5’ or 6’ depending on wind. Most conditions are 5 is plenty. I like to use socks even with no wind while pulling the boat with the trolling motor. It seems to keep the boat straighter and helps with the speed control. Thank you for watching I appreciate it.

      It does lay against the midshaft but not a problem. When I drift I always use 2. One on each corner. It prevents swaying

    Any concerns doing this in 3-4 mph current?

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  3 роки тому +1

      No sir. The only issue will retrieving the sock. Just put a long enough dump rope on it that you can pull it in point first. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it

      But you have to reel in all those reels on that side before you reel in the rod that has fish on it, otherise tangling occures, atleast thats what happens here on the sea
