My thoughts exactly. Sometimes I wonder if these gals are looking at themselves through a carnival mirror. You look at yourself and you are completely distorted. One minute skinny, one minute fat, head out of shape. They would save themselves a lot of hassle and money if they would just remember Monde frequently repeats. The body doesn’t come with the dress.

As I saw the dress as how it is supposed to be worn, then looked at this woman who bought it, I have several opinions here. 1. This is not a dress for a woman with this kind of figure. She has a boxy kind of shape which will not carry the dress as it is supposed to be worn. 2. She is also an older woman. Not appropriate for her to dress like this.

Amazing, as usual, Monde!!! It's just amazing what a great seamstress can do with just a few alterations to a dress. My grandmother on my mother's side was a great seamstress. She would see a dress in a store that she liked, go in, examine it, go home, layout newspapers, cut the pattern out, and make the exact copy of that dress!! It totally amazes me that she was able to do that for the people she serviced. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦

It's something I might look into, as I have always wanted clothes that fit my weird figure (skinny legs, no bum, boobs, small stomach and waist, and an abdomen that looks completely out of place on the rest of me...ooh and huge bingo wings from massive weightloss). I love clothes from the eras, where everything was tailored.

You are amazing. I use to do alterations but I found that people did not want to pay my worth so i stopped. One lady expected me to hem shirts she thrifted for $1-$1.50 because she only paid $3 for the shirt because she could not see paying more to have it altered than the item cost. Of course I had others that did pay well. I did an alteration on a dress the other day, the client paid my asking price and she loved it. First one since I stopped.

The dress is pretty. Just needed the alterations, and you did a great job. There are many affordable dresses that are inspired by a popular designer. That's fine but they shouldn't false advertise with the designer picture. I think too much blame is being put in the purchaser than where it should be, which is with the seller.

I’m not a fan of that look either and it seems to be everywhere you look. Or if a dress is strapless and fits over “the girls” completely rather than looking like they are going to pop out at any moment, instead of following the line of the breast and make it more curved they are cut into a point. The whole look of the dress is ruined.

Having any dress altered for your body makes all the difference. My husband bought me a designer dress from NY in the 90s. I had a great natural hr glass at the time. So to fit hips and bust it bagged at my 24" waist. The seamstress was amazing! she got it to fit like a glove with the strapless top staying up. I will always have mad respect for good seamstresses.
