THIS is why we all need to hear demos of songs...The raw power in this version is insane, the lack of any "studio refinement" makes this song sound as it should.
Ya, I believe you that there is an '83 demo. Played this song back again & there are bigger differences than I noticed the first time.-fuck they were good from day one, Show No Mercy is the greatest debut record ever made, I still play it alot & I got my first copy back in '84!! I would like to get a good copy of the demo.
Axewell's world tour. All good! for me : haunting, show, hell, blood, what ever follow after accordingly . I still think they are bigger and better than DONT belong in the big 4. AWAKE!!
yeah even kerry said once we thought he lost it cause he cut all his hair off and went full punk mode but after a few years we listened to punk and we liked it that's why they made the album
this is the original track without the fade in, the reverb or delay that tom has in this song, and somebody did something to the song because it sound like "old". It's easy to know this is not a home-made recording 'cause of the sound of the drum, is has reverb and it doesn't sound like an acoustic drum at all, you can notice that it was edited...penis
I think this was recorded at tom' s parents garage; that's where they practice until rick rueban discovered/signed them to their first contract. I could be wrong though...
Criss Vomit they had been recording and touring heavily before that happened. Rick Rubin saw them lives in Brooklyn at L'Amours when they were playing back to back shows there over the course of a weekend back in 1985
They also recorded Aggressive Perfector for the metal massacre 3 compilation album. I don't remember if it was recorded before show no mercy or during the sessions for show no mercy.
Thanks for keeping this track posted for so long, but is there any chance of posting the other 2 tracks from the demo? I can't find the Slayer demo anywhere. There are a few fakes out there and rehearsals but that's it. You'd think being one of the Big Four, it would be about as common as No Life Til Leather, Last Rites and the Anthrax demos.
It's the original version of the track without the fade-in that was used on the album. It's not "the same track with the bass turned up", it's just unmixed and most likely taken from a 2nd or 3rd gen tape.
ye man... any time i hear / see old Slayer i just think "damb they wanted to be Venom" especially with the spandex hahaha. Same with Mayhem too. both still rock tho ;)
@@JanusCCXVIII bro, you call them sell outs after Jeff? How? They got their Grammy with Jeff alive. That's fine as that's your opinion. They ended as almost playing as fast as they started. With exception of slower songs, they're always fast, fucking hard and BRUTAL. best to you!
@@johngraboski Slayer after Jeff's demise is over. Tom and (J)Kerry(lol) became like Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. How they ripped-off Lombardo for an instance. We all knew that Jeff is Fukkin Slayer...

Jeff looks like Billy Idol.
Like David Bowie..😃
Billy was one of the original punks
@@JohnMiciusWhat? What? Are you kidding?
@@DrJ-hx7wv I replied to a guy who said that Billy Idol never was punk, curb your sarcasm brah
Show No Mercy was my first SLAYER Album. One of the greatest album Ever.
SOH was quickly after as was Seasons, then barely made it to 2 minutes into a borrowed copy of Arm Scratch edgelord "buy me"
I bought the first print vinyl in 1984 and i didn't even like the music much back then.
This is the original track.
+Jurmu Everyone who listens a little bit Slayer knows that man.
youre not cool now.
Lemmy Kilmister
sorry lemmy.
yes is the original track
RIP Jeff, those riffs are forever...
Good thing these guys listened to Venom and followed in their footsteps:)
Ansolutely, giving birth to thrash and death metal.
Every Black Metal band should have covered this song at least once
That snare drum is awesome.
It was never that deep again
Did Dave shit a skull? SLAYER!!!!!!!
I love all SLAYER albums
Same here 🤘
One of the most scariest songs ever put out, I was 9 years when I first heard the studio version.
*A MELHOR BANDA DE THRASH METAL DO MUNDO* 🇧🇷

@Mistpuup Yes, may be their first ever promo shot, promoting a December 1982 mini-tour.
Show no mercy is the best slayer album anybody else agree?
thy maxaroni Hell Awaits
I would say Hell Awaits is the best Slayer album!
Definitely
Axewell's world tour Show No Mercy by far!!!
Axewell's world tour. All good! for me : haunting, show, hell, blood, what ever follow after accordingly . I still think they are bigger and better than DONT belong in the big 4. AWAKE!!
I can tell you this demo exists, tracks on the tape are 'Black Magic', 'The Antichrist' & 'Fight Till Death'.
Where's the rest of the demos at that one can listen to?
Awesome!!! Absolutely wicked..
NUNCA ESPERAVA VER SLAYER TÃO NOVINHOS, EXCELENTE.
Used to tape trade & I don't remember a Slayer demo from '83 or any year. There were rehearsal tape(s)
I can't believe Jeff ever had that hair cut. I do remember he was a big punk fan back then however.
lol yes
yeah even kerry said once we thought he lost it cause he cut all his hair off and went full punk mode but after a few years we listened to punk and we liked it that's why they made the album
His head was shaved
🤘🤘
Hardcore punk/ crossover.

dude could you post that, it would be nice of you
Branko Pavic slayer sent out a 3 track demo to magazines that feature 3 tracks off show no mercy so this could well be off that demo.
to me it sounds like a cassette dub of a rough studio mix
It's not any demo. You can recognise it as it slows down in the last verse after solo as recorded on Show no Mercy!
I think this was recorded at tom' s parents garage; that's where they practice until rick rueban discovered/signed them to their first contract. I could be wrong though...

Toms parents garage ?
コレから始まるぞって言う感じがビシビシと伝わってくるな。勢いのあるところが最高だな
The image is from their early demo compilation "Pooping On Death" as the theme confirms.
They also recorded Aggressive Perfector for the metal massacre 3 compilation album. I don't remember if it was recorded before show no mercy or during the sessions for show no mercy.
Actually there are several short demos and a few rehearsals floating around these days. I'd like a copy of this one, though.
Awesomeness
Never seen that pic before damn they young as hell there. Great photo
SLAYER till death aaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggg
Those drums.
Damn just figuring it all out,Jeff was the brains that led Slayer to their fame!! 95/was all Jeff
This is a better version than on the album!
I think it is the album version just altered
The drums hit HARD
i hewar some kind of acoustic halutionatios of this , truly a black MAGIC
Damn Jeff with short hair! Punk status yeah!
trash hit
Discharge vibe

Please ask the band about that 1983 tape and check Metal Forces magazine (UK) issue # 2 from 1983 for a review.
Black Magic with Hell Awaits production
oldschool pics huh!!!!! awesome;;;;;
Great photo!!
Slayer !!!!!
Tremendo, no me sabia esta de Slayer.
the vocal part is the studio version with shitty quality
it's the same hole track I think xD
It's the original version of the track without the fade-in that was used on the album. It's not "the same track with the bass turned up", it's just unmixed and most likely taken from a 2nd or 3rd gen tape.
It's a late generation copy of an early Canadian cassette release.
Yeah it's probably from a demo of the album. www.metalforcesmagazine.com/site/demo-review-slayer/
Who's the pic. Is that....Slayer.
Rhetorical
+Norbit CleaverHook He totally missed that haha
Jaime Sandoval Yeah he's a 98 slayer fan
Simpler times.
yeah Kerry said he had shaved his head completely bald lol, I'd love to see pics of that
THX Diogène
This sounds like the album version but with a larger intro.
Feels good listening to the SKANK! Beat. DAVE RULES!!😈

Treasure!!!
There's was any jacket for that tape.
This is how death metal was born!
Punk days
The sound Is....some speed, some Death, some Trash, some, Black. Is perfect.
If you seriously cant hear that this is the same version like the album, i dont know if your hearing is okay. Demo or not.
QUE CHIMBA HP FUCKING SLAYER
Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica essa é minha ordem de preferência do Big four
Iahhh!!!
This is the original song just mixed alot better ngl
@666777gg I ALSO TRADED TAPES AND I THINK YOURE CORRECT.BUT IM NOT 100% SURE
it's as if during the verses the guitars both have tremolo pedals on them!

Jeff with short hair xD?!
This was about 1981
not a demo just the bass turned up
...somewhere between demo and final issue, my bet is complete take but not a keeper. Feel is different from consumer version

They look like they can’t decide if they want to be Venom or WASP.
The old makeup days. But makeup didnt last long.
