What is Town of Salem?
Town of Salem is a fresh innovation on the classic party games Mafia and Werewolf. It is a game of murder, accusations, deceit and mob hysteria.
So the Derp Crew decided to head back in time to an Era that wasn't so kind to its Citizen. Where burning witches was legal, and hurting your local jailor wasn't really that frowned upon! We will attempt to deceive, trick, punish, and lie as we attempt to win for our faction and bring glory to our respective cause!

I'm so impressed with how well Rep works with the town. Despite him having a significant experience advantage, he doesn't push himself forward or try to lead the town. He provides information, and guidance when needed for mechanics, but lets the town work things out their way. I don't think anyone would do such a great job teaching 14 people of such varying skill levels.
He's been doing a great job of teaching, trying to win, and also not destroying us. We very much appreciate his help

I was so frustrated at Chilled's Exe game because of how hard Skadj went after him for not including Ze in the will, when jailor doesn't even show up. Lookout watches that persons HOUSE not where they are, the jailor TAKES THEM
Your frustration is understandable though Skadj and Chilled didn't know about that fact up until the end of the game, so it was a real shame 😭

I haven’t played TOS in a while, but on the wiki it says that the jailor would make the visit fail, so wouldn’t it just give a message like “you tried to look at your target but he was hauled off to jail”?
Honestly the most frustrating thing was Platy pushing him when he was arso. The attention wasn't on him why did he hard defend Aphex so much.

@@samtherat6 I mean, I've been watching him since I was 15 and I'm almost 23 so it happens 😋 I'm not super active comment wise but I've been consistently watching most every vid for years
So Chilled, I haven't watched further into the video to see if someone tells you. But the issue with the n1 dumbdog lookout (executioner) play was that you wouldn't have seen Vikram OR Ze, you would've got the message that your target was in jail. So although the other players weren't smart enough to know that, they still called you out on the Ze thing. Just by chance, for future games, good thing to know. And also good to keep in mind it's dangerous to formulate your will only off dead people's will, it gives you credibility but it also makes you super suspicious. So sometimes you have to make bold claims and leaps of logic like if you think someone MIGHT be a visiting town role and someone says they were RBd you can make the gamble of confirming the escort claim or trying to out the escort. Also, although it's kinda lame, you can just blitz it and call for a 1-for-1. Say to hang your target, and if they're innocent they can hang you. But if they agree, it doesn't matter as long as they hang your target first - which is where it can backfire - because if you get your target killed you win you can do whatever you want at that point.
You also can't watch yourself, so there's no way you'd see chelsea visit you unless there was a transporter and you got transported with the person you were looking at.
Im sure as we play a bit more, the ol town of salem ways will come back to us. Its only been a few hours for the last couple of weeks and we are sorely out of shape lol

You dont see what it says about what theyre doing at night you just see if anyone was skulking around their house (there may be a line that mentions if the target is out of the house, but im not 100% sure about that and either way it still wouldnt tell you if they visited you)

The vig game was much later on - actually, right after the vet game I think. I don't remember the order of the others.

I've never played TOS, but I love watching you guys play the mod on AU. I have a new appreciation now for the modders, now that I'm watching you play the real game. They did a great job of translating the roles.

Don’t know if this will reach or really help y’all at all, since this is an older video. But there is a way to save the names you use in game, so you don’t get stuck with things like “John Proctor”. If ya guys haven’t already done that. That way you can just push enter when you want to jump into the game.

In classic the vigilante is terrible, of the main roles the only bad ones you can shoot are mafioso, framer/random mafia, and jester. The Godfather, Serial Killer, and executioner are too strong. The rest are town that if you shoot them you die. So of the people you really can only do something to 3
You still can confirm Exe/GF/SK as immune and there's a possibility of shooting exe turned jester too, so it's not that bad. Vigi shouldn't go trigger happy anyways, so there's plenty of targets for a game
can't wait till they understand the game better and try werewolf. i remember when chilled played it a few years ago it was so funny~

How did they call out executuoner in you? There was no way you could be a lookout roll with knowing who was dead and the possible roles available for the game.
I think in the second round as executioner chilled absolutely probably would have had way better ground if he didn't vote innocent on the mafioso if you don't want guilty the dead would never have claimed him to be a bad guy like cheesy for voting innocent and it would have added a bit more validity do is claim granted it seems like even though he played an excellent fake Lookout with pretty much Flawless evidence and even detailing where the doctor went by lucky guesses it seems the players just weren't connecting what chilled was saying

Holy cow that Executioner effort in game 3 was a sight to behold. There were a couple faking mistakes (mostly in direction of visit which if anything helped the other stuff get by) but getting Chelsea on board was well done. If he'd pushed Aphex as having never killed anyone as Veteran I think it would've worked. It'd have surely worked if platy hadn't attacked Chilled which was the dumbest play he could've made as a mislynch on Aphex would've seen the town lynch Chilled next and that buys him two free days. Totally undeserved win.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Cheesy…but he was a fucking idiot that last game. The town JUST talked about protecting Chilled that night, Chilled said he’d hold his shot. Chilled can be a paranoid SOB, but he’s not stupid. He was expecting to get a doctor or BG and he got nothing.
What I got a laugh at was how in denial Cheesy was. Practically the whole town called him an idiot for not healing Chilled and he deserved every bit of it. I think deep down Cheesy knew he fucked up big time.

I really enjoy Rep playing with y’all, he’s really knowledgeable on TOS and explains a lot of mechanics which viewers might be unfamiliar with.
It's also really good for the lobby because then they can get mechanics answered that they would otherwise guess on.
i agree, i have noticed a few of the 'clever' new players axing people who try to help with the roles, i think that Rep should answer peoples role questions even if killed off. The games that last forever are usually because people don't know what they're supposed to do.

You gain nothing by killing a vet ,not to say risking your own life lol . Go after jailor,doctor,BG ,town investigative,etc…
@@Leo-nc3yx Well it happens alot, but in this case the idea was simple. Chilled was a confirmed role, making him have a position of power where he could talk anything he wanted to get others voted up. They don't want that to happen.

50:55 This is the point that Chilled becomes exposed in this game. The random towns were already revealed as Investigator and Retributionist, and Pjonk dying as Lookout bumps Chilled's story out the window.
That is to say: Really good work by Chilled in regards to social engineering in that game in particular. He forced rock-solid focus on his own (albeit nonexistent) issue with Aphex and nearly got him out.
EDIT: And it turns out that in all the confusion, Chilled helped distract everyone from the fact there might be an arsonist and practically handed Platy the win!

Chelsea did in her will. It was maybe mentioned but passed over a couple times while Chilled was defending his claim, but I think it was otherwise ignored because he was more unbelievable than believable.

taking out the consig is huge, unlike the invest that gets a set 3 roles they get to learn the exact thing they are. obvs the mafia fell apart pretty quickly but in a long game all that info would be nuts
also for the second game i wouldn't say the exe and the jester are inherently evil, they cant visit and its hard for them to start speaking up and run a convo as they are on their own team and that can get called out pretty quick

While they can be kind of cruel to him sometimes, lets not forget he is basically the next most chaotic being after SeaNanners himself. In games of deception like this, Chilled is a high priority target and THREAT... innocent or not!

I've learned something playing exe, just don't even push, they try voting you up claim jester, post your will which just has potato facts, your target will eventually die and they'll start doubting you as jester once they find out you have defence 😂

God the best Town of Salem players are the ones who know what they're doing but understand that it's a game to have fun not get salty. So they let people do their own thing

1:10:16 this is when the entire chat got extremely pissed at the doctor (Cheesy) and while Cheesy tried to defend themselves... pretty much everyone I'd say was in agreement that Cheesy did the wrong move (although I will also say Cheesy got paid back later into the stream too, more than once, with some irony mixed in iirc too lmao)
Edit: Also the arguing didn't end at the end of the video either, as soon as the next night occurred... they continued with Kara pretty much saying "They are still yelling at each other" hahaha
(again, when half the town agrees the doctor didn't do the right move... including the Medium which was also Rep... the anger was much deserved *I was pretty pissed at the situation myself... FOR that situation happening*)

Volume of a bra is something I never thought could exist
That's what the letter is, for A-cup, B-cup, etc. The number is the circumference around the entire torso under the breasts (band size). The way you figure out the cup letter is by then measuring the circumference around the torso at the nipples (bust size), and then subtracting the band size. If you're 34 inches under the breasts and 38 inches on the nips, that's a 4-inch difference, which is a D-cup.
To be clear, the volume is an approximation. That's why getting bras off the rack can sometimes be pretty off. Getting fitted by an expert is supposed to help, but I can't imagine how expensive getting fitted bras ends up being.

The jailor wouldn't pop up on the lookouts log because the jailers main ability is a DAY ability while the lookout is a night ability. Soooo the jailer wouldn't pop up on lookout logs
The visit would fail unless that was changed recently.
I know this is old, but in case anyone is reading this - chilled is wrong about veteran. You shouldn't use alert early because you're more likely to catch a town role.
I'm going to say it again like the last vid, I'm loving TOS being back. This stream was even better , so many funny moments. In 2015 I actually played the game myself & became obsessed for a few months, the vids again are making me kinda miss it..
Have to agree about rep to, he's not being super try hard with having the most knowledge. His help/advice has been really good. Hopefully those new to the game over time will understand more and get better at the game.

Chilled played really well as Exe and still lost, he got unlucky with his target but I think it's just that the role overall is just way too weak, you're literally given no tools to help you. Should've named it "Obsessed" or something instead, Executioner makes the role sound cool even though you basically don't get anything special as the role.

Chilled your the only person id actually watch if i used twitch. And videos like this are y. Also i felt that last round. Showing Aphex how to use that role. Only to be betrayed and cut down in ur prime by someone you love.
I don't get how Junk is as confused about the game as he is considering the amount of Among Us he plays. Sure the changes to roles from the mod and the new roles I get, that can be overwhelming, but it seems even the basics of deducing the information is going over his head.
To be fair, I feel like most rounds that this occurs on, Junk ends up being evil so he could just be playing the confused old man role to try and escape his crimes lmao
I feel like junk milks ( exhadurates) his lack of knowledge and its unsettling I can't tell, I mean it's a game of lying. I get not knowing as much, but that 'be can't be an executioner he got shot by a vig' 'now that I dont understand' I feel like that's lying about understanding game mechanics just so he could subtly defect kara or try too.
What I hate the most is when people that are smart vote against logic even if they guessed right. It grinds my gears like crazy. It makes me feel like they are throwing the game and just getting lucky. Like you can list off everything perfectly and get voted out just because. Bad logic should be punished, but I guess you can never account for thick skulls and Irish luck.

man, junkyard does not have a subtle bone in his body, and this has nothing to do with understanding the game, his motives are just so obvious every time he opens his mouth, he instantly polarizes to whatever side hes on, if he is evil he jumps on any bandwagon to kill, and defends other evil people without shame, and when hes good hes basically a nonfactor.
44:10 see unfortunately what skadj was saying is wrong. lookout cannot see jailors visit cause they visit during the day not at night. so skadj jumping on chilled for his statement wasnt really correct. however the rest of them also didnt notice that there was no Random Town slot left cause of retri and double investigator so its on all of them not just skadj.
I have nothing against Cheesy but he frustrates me watching them play and after the last game it proves how much he frustrates me watching from Chilled’s perspective. It’s almost as if he’s purposely messing with you…
Edit: I’ve grown to really like Cheesy over the years and am happy he’s part of the team!
My fav exe play in all any is to claim spy then on a night with no maf kills claim your target was visited by maf twice to insinuate that they have def without looking like a hard push maf will know u are lieing but they wont care and will jump on the vote train this sadly doesnt work if theres an actual spy but it makes for a good jest play follow up if your target dies
